I consider American tourists well behaving, specially in countries where not much English is spoken they seem to be always in line. As for generous tipping it comes not only from good heart but also from home experience - tipping is exponentially more ingrained for North Americans than people from other regions , for some of them it may be very exotic habit indeed if not outright offensive or stupid.

If you apply on that website , on top of 30 $ visa fee you will be charged 6 $ administration fee. After several years of applying for visa on internet , last time , in July I decided to go for visa on arrival in Phnom Penh. It was extremely smooth process. All they wanted was passport and 30$, no other documents asked for , neither photo was required. It took probably 90 seconds. Visa was just small piece of paper, no photo , nothing. Don't lose it as they may want to ask for it on departure although they did not ask me . Not sure if in Siem Reap is equally smooth. Others may chip in .

to answer your question it was either 2 times by conventional count or 4 times by way I'm counting my trips. My both trips to Thailand were broken by visit to Singapore , Vietnam and Cambodia in January and by short trip to Cambodia in July. So I left home for Thailand twice but actually entered Thailand 4 times . I wouldn't be so quick to summarize year of which 25 % is still to go with at least 26 draws of 6/49 but so far for me year was good and hoping for more of good stuff in the coming 14 or so weeks before 2026 will be over for good. I did not even started to think about Jan 2027 trip announced two years ago when after not so good trip I swore to give myself break with Thailand for good while but it did not work way intended and Thanks God for that.
