Kentucky's largest city also has had a gay rights ordinance for several years. http://www.advocate.com/News/Daily_News/2010/11/02/Gay_Mayor_for_Lexington_Ky/ I think this bodes well for gay tolerance and maybe even acceptance. Tolerance might be expected more because it is a 'big city' of sorts, but not that big, and it is in Kentucky!! Suprising? Yes. A positive sign for the Kentucky and the country? Yes. Now we have to balance that with the deposing of the Iowa Supreme Court Justices. Progress happens in fits and starts.
