I talked about this some months ago, but today made me think about it again. A unexpected and to me, surprising benefit of participating in this and many years ago the Hooboy board was the friendships that developed! I am a pretty outgoing guy and have a fairly large social circle, but since 2003/4 three of my closest friends are guys who I met off of the review sites. We travel together, two of us who travel frequently for business plan our trips to coincide and it's made for some great times! Several of us have dinner at least once a month in L.A., when I am in NYC again several of us get together. Obviously we have a common interest, but now the social aspects of our friendship overshadow the original reason we got together. Like a family or neighborhood, you are not going to click with everyone, but I encourage you to meet some of the guys that might be close to you or when your travel plans put you in the same city to connect! I actually met a guy who I dated for awhile after he read a report on Rio I had written and we met for dinner in L.A. and than started dating...unfortunately I can't spell monogomous much less practice it!! So it didn't last but we remained frieds! I am happy to say that I think of OZ, Lucky, Townsend as friends, I met lucky and Townsend of the old board and got to meet OZ last year in Rio and had a great time! Maybe it's time to try another Dinner with friends meeting in either L.A. or NYC or Miami which is my new favorite?!!

I've met several people that post here and it's always been a wonderful experience. Just wish I could travel to some of the dinner meetings. Would love to meet more guys that post here.

I would love to meet people here. Thought about attending Palm Spring meetings but decided not to. A long story. I rarely travel these days since I am settling down but if I ever travel to some places I will post it here. I am a bit shy and reserved at first but a kid in me comes out when I get comfortable. Hugs~~

As for Palm Springs, earlier this year I fantasized about going to one of those parties to see what they are like but people have told me too many "stories" to make that a place where I'd go either.

I'm in! Just need a time and place, looking forward to seeing people again and maybe meeting a few new ones too.

gcursor, your remark confuses me. You say that you "fantasized" about going to one of the Palm Springs parties, but people had told you "too many stories" that apparently destroyed your fantasy. Since both of the hosts of the party post here,why did you not simply ask us about the things you had heard?

We have noticed that some stories seem to go around suggesting that the Weekend is some kind of sex party.

Oliver and I, among others, did our best to deter those stories from spreading because the event is not a "sex party." It's true that there is a pool party and that some escorts have chosen to swim naked, but they don't walk around naked in the house or at the dinner and theater on Saturday night.

The event is not sponsored by the websites. It is hosted by the poster Oliver, and, in past years, Oliver and I shared hosting duties. We would have been happy to answer any questions you have about the event. I did look at your profile wherein you describe your self as shy and anxious. Meeting a large number of your fellow posters at one time would probably not be good in that case. I would suggest that you do meet fellow posters, as you may make some good friends, as I have.

We want the event to be for the people who post regularly, either here or at Daddy's website. In the last two years, we have not kept to that, and as a result had one or two who did not fit in because they did not know what they were coming to or anything about the event, its history, or the guests in attendance. That's one thing that needs to be changed and is why regular posters will be invited, and not people who think they are coming to an orgy or sex party.

I know you guys work very hard. I know it's not a sex party too (it's not THOSE type of stories). I'll send you a private message on the board to discuss it further. this isn't the place for that type of discussion I feel. although again I understand that both of you work quite hard to make the party succeed and indeed you deserve much recognition for doing what you have done.

It's difficult enough to keep in touch with all those people without adding new friends. I HAVE established a few friendships with local people who post on Daddy's site and several local escorts.

Buddy, glad to see you back on the board. If you ever do get to one of those Palm Beach weekends, let me know how they compare to the one out west!
