You could listen to the MAGA shills on the news and on here or ask people actually living in LA: There have been anti-ICE protests across the city, in the more affluent areas there's been restrained response (major hotel chains hosting ICE in Glendale and other suburbs, for example), in the areas where migrants and minorities actually live it's been much less restrained and then some traitorous dipshits who failed history (KENT STATE ANYONE?!) started dumping gasoline on the few embers of a flame in those areas and have still failed to actually cause the riot they're nevertheless breathlessly reporting. There are a couple large protests, mostly downtown and some smaller ones. I wouldn't fear for my safety at all to participate (except for indiscriminate use of "less-lethal" projectiles and gas by the police/etc.), or to get around the area if I needed to--though it would be inconvenient. People going to these places late in the evenings aren't the protesters and should be picked up for their crimes. LAPD is fully capable of violently repressing both the protesters and criminals without the "help" of the National Guard or especially the fucking MARINES.
