August 27, 201115 yr Author Sadly, it's much more mundane than that. They are building a new tramline in my neighborhood and the roadwork managed to cut off my Internet access at home for more than two months. During that time I had to do Internet stuff from a local bar, which had a firewall that didn't let me access this site. Yesterday, the Internet magically came back on at home, so here I am!
August 27, 201115 yr This isn't a porn site but every public place around my area is restricting access to this site. Should we change our site name? Sadly, it's much more mundane than that. August 27, 201115 yr Author I'm pretty sure that once a site's numerical URL makes it onto the software block list, changing the name won't help get it unblocked.
August 27, 201115 yr You can always tell the administrator that this is a review site and we can call it "The Review". They will unblock it right away. I'm pretty sure that once a site's numerical URL makes it onto the software block list, changing the name won't help get it unblocked.
August 27, 201115 yr Active Members This isn't a porn site but every public place around my area is restricting access to this site. Should we change our site name? This site is free to users, and the only way that Oz can make it work is to sell ads to flirt4free, various porn sites, etc etc. All of that content gets the site blocked and certainly we as free users can't ask the owners to forego revenue generating advertising just so we can see it at a Starbucks!
August 27, 201115 yr What's next in the business? To introduce a counter software that will unblock these sites from being restricted. The site started to get restricted starting mid this year. Someone is making money out of this of course. Why don't we take counter measures instead. You have to drink in better establishments.
August 28, 201115 yr Author If there was a better one I'd have been there. I think the thing is all the bars here had the same company set up their Internet and firewalls, so it made no difference where I went. I simply chose a place that didn't have a paywall up and pretty much let you stay there for as long as you wanted as long as you bought a cup of coffee or a beer every so often.
