August 29, 201115 yr Was anyone else really turned off by Lady Ga Ga doing the entire video music awards in drag king mode and with the way she made fun of Britney Spears - who is mentally ill and probably shouldn't be treated like shit on live television? http://gawker.com/5835242/did-lady-gaga-jump-the-shark-at-the-vmas?popular=true
August 29, 201115 yr Gaga needs to balance things out. It's good to do something new and different but it needs some kind of balance. I hope she can find that.
August 29, 201115 yr Oh, please. the skit with Gaga and Britney was completely scripted. Britney even tweeted about it earlier in the day that her fans were going to love what she and Gaga had in store.
August 29, 201115 yr Active Members I agree with EXPAT. Britney may be mentally ill, but she puts herself into situations where she has to go with the flow if she wants to be a star. And, no doubt, she has a say in what happens or she wouldn't be there.
August 29, 201115 yr Author Actually, Britney doesn't have any choice in the matter. All of her assets have been frozen by the court for more than two years now and the court has said they will not unfreeze them until she can demonstrate that she's mentally stable enough to work consistently and at her last hearing the court cited her reluctance to perform in public and refusal to attend award shows as evidence she is not responsible enough to make her own financial decisions. Therefore, she had to know that if she didn't turn up for MTV giving her a lifetime achievement award it would have fucked her legally.
August 29, 201115 yr Author Oh, and it's her publicist who was hired by the administrator appointed by the court who decides where she should be and reports back to the court as to whether or not Britney did as she was told - and Britney can not legally fire this publicist. So, no, she doesn't have a choice and more likely than not had no idea what was going to happen (that tweet was probably posted by her publicist.)
August 29, 201115 yr Active Members So you're saying Britney is just a puppet? I find that hard to believe, but in this day, who knows?
August 30, 201115 yr Author It's pretty well documented in court records that she's a puppet against her will. It's sort of unbelievable in this day and age that a court can take away the right of a grown mother of two to make her own financial decisions, but it's exactly what they did. The situation Britney is in is very close to slavery. It's like the system decided she was worth too much money to too many people to be allowed to retire (which is pretty much what she wanted to do.)
