September 15, 201115 yr They have an FDIC equivalent that insures deposits up to 100,000 euros. That said, I've never kept money in a French bank account. The amount of fees they charge for deposits is insane. Plus, I work freelance and get paid generally by wire transfer or PayPal. Wire transfers go into my American bank account on the same day. With French bank accounts it would take up to two weeks (and I'd get charged 15 percent). With PayPal it would take a week instead of the two days (and I'd get charged 10 percent.) Fuck French banks.
