March 19, 201214 yr I'm not surprised at all actually. I've been following Jimmy Carter since the beginning and he is very liberal for his Christian upbringing. I think his views are very enlightened as well. He was very much underrated as a president unfortunately, about as over rated as Reagan was.

Especially in light of Reagan's traitorous negotiations with Iran before he won the election to keep holding American hostages until he was sworn in, later paid back with Iran-Contra. But all hail the great savior Reagan!
March 20, 201214 yr The Economist, not always big on liberal leftish politicians, consistently expresses fierce admiration for Carter in his post-official capacity. They particularly enjoy reporting whenever he "comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable."
March 21, 201214 yr It isn't surprising to me. Carter is an actual Christian. Unlike the majority who use religion to make themselves feel more holy by attacking other people.
