WOW I had truly forgotten how hard mainstream work can be. I just completed my first week at the office of my new employer and mentally and physically I am wiped out.

All those years sitting at a poker table made me softer than I could even imagine I was. I see now why some of the newer pros don't eat at the casinos anymore and tend to workout before coming in to play. A trend that has been growing over the past year or so.

Anyway, mainstream work sucks but I cannot dwell on it. I made my own bed and must sleep in it .... even though the lure of the WSOP starting at month end has me a bit distracted. But then I look at my bank balance and understand why I won't be there this year

Congratulations on having a job. I may have to do the same thing based on my medical bills this year. I was hoping that wasn't going to be the case, but I didn't expect the size of my medical bills. Oh well. We'll see.

There's a lot to be said for the many positive effects of a healthy meal and a good workout in the morning!

Make yourself do it every other day, start slow, you'll improve! I barely made it to rowing 500m and couldn't jog/run continuously for 3 minutes when I started, am now able to go 10X those numbers and do many other things I couldn't imagine doing before!

Now, I swear I have more energy when I get up early and hit the gym than when I just roll over and sleep all morning!

Well 4Aces, now you know how us Little people live.... We work, we save for retirement, and then Drop dead before we can start collecting it.... aint Life Grand ?

I have never had a "real" job but, on the other hand, I never intend to retire, either.

Question: Do you want to have regular hours, regular pay, vacations, holidays, days off, a "normal" family life and happy, predictable relationships with others?

I need to practice flying planes so I can be your co-pilot if something happens when you pilot very old... I will fix you martini when you finish flying. I will be one of those wives who handle emergency landing for the illness stricken husbands. I don't like bad hair in those news reports though..

On days when I know I will be sitting at the computer working from 8:30 to 5, I always take the dog for at least a one mile walk before I sit down to work, and if the weather is appropriate, I also try to swim during my lunch break. I eat a light breakfast and lunch on those days, because I know I'll be tempted to snack while I'm working.

You are so sensible, Charlie! That's why you are so healthy I guess.
