May 12, 201214 yr FDA approved Truvada to be used as a preventive measure for HIV infection. It's not inexpensive so I don't think a lot of people can afford it. Its efficacy is not 100 percent and there are side effects. I guess using condoms is the best choice but people involved in risky behaviors can benefit from it.
