The battle to stop the use of Frisco has been going on since Herb Caen admonished in his column decades ago that you never call the city Frisco! August 27, 201313 yr Active Members As a native of the San Francisco Peninsula I have never used Frisco. But San Francisco and SFO are interchangeable to me as I fly in and out on average 10 times per year. San Fran is acceptable to natives.
