It's a puppy, so that makes it tougher. Here's a fully grown version. There's one in the background; those other animals are sheep.

April 24, 201412 yr It certainly does look like a hound, probably a rare southern one. That's a very unusual coat pattern.
April 24, 201412 yr It's got husky eyes. It's also intact, so likely a show dog and almost certainly an AKC recognized breed (call me Jessica Fletcher), so the field is greatly narrowed.
April 24, 201412 yr Hints -- Breed is not yet fully AKC recognized. Originated in Louisiana. Coat has something to do with its name....
