....in England. I know you all have the old fashioned way of reading termperatures where freezing numbers are what we would call warm but it was minus -3 here last night. It was very cold. I made sure I fried up 5 slices of bread for the birds who come to my bird tray in the garden this morning. I feed them every day.

I've finalised my trip to Turkey, ahhhh and whilst it's still cold in England in March it'll be glorious early summer sunshine in Bodrum. I'd booked the flights months ago when they first went on sale (£80 return flights which is about $120 for a 5000 mile round trip). Today I booked first class trains to and from Edinburgh for £37 ($55) return as I fly from Edinburgh and not my local airport in Newcastle (flights to Turkey don't start until May) and I've treated myself to the first class lounge at Edinburgh Airport for £15 ($22). Approximately £170 return by the time you cost in the other travel incidentals.

I stay with my best friend who lives there so I treat her to dinner out every day as a thank you.

What holiday plans does everyone else have to warm themselves up whilst its so bloody cold

Not sure which holidays you are thinking of but here in MEM last week we had 3 days of around 18C. Certainly not everyday is like that in winter but enough of them to make some of us forget about cold weather for a little while. We have about 2 months of variable weather to go before Spring but no snow so far. Yes, I have been in England in August and was very cold (in the rain). I have also been in London when everyone either did or wanted to open their hotel windows (no AC). Weather is whatever you find.

I live in Ft.Lauderdale so staying warm is not really a problem for me. But I am headed to Bangkok in a couple of weeks where it will be in the 90's or 30's in that other language.
