In the morning breakfast in Foodland , Jason was already there. Updated us about karaoke preparations.
Lunch at Sarica, again 5 members congregated – Kram,  Ichigo, Jason 1975, Enchanted Elixir and what is his name? oh, I know, vinapu.
We agreed to meet at 8 in Banana outside and go for karaoke from there. I, tormented by jet lag went to hotel, fixed alarm for 7.30 and collapsed on the bed,
 Jason organized everything. It needs to be said it was my first karaoke ever. He offed 3 boys, including one of my Midnight bar favorite hosts P and our congregation met at Banana then we marched to soi 6 to Club where room was ready for us. . We ordered some drinks and Burmese food and singing started.  I was surprised to discover  that all three boys have quite nice voices and their singing went very well. D showed up after a while as well.
 I liked whole experience and I’m eternally grateful to Jason for putting it all together. P kept me company all that time for which he was decently tipped, glad to notice D was not jealous. Rightly so because at end of day it was him who got invited to check my stamp collection again. I sensed P was bit disappointed.
After 3 hours  part was over , we went to Foodland for a late supper.
 At 4 am D announced he needs to go as he needs to pick up his cousin from the airport. I was not happy to hear that and for a moment thought “ is our party over for good with such antics “ but resigned to my fate. Haste to say that , while poorly handled , it was likely legitimate excuse  as our subsequent meetings after I returned to Bangkok  went without glitch .
Breakfast at Foodland, Jason was there already. He is going back home today but we will be meeting in Singapore tomorrow evening we agreed .
 If you recall from day one, I met L at Prince but we couldn’t communicate since because I did not have my phone with me. Luckily today I spotted him on Grindr , messaged him and invited to my room at 5 pm. Greet two hours together. It turned out he lives close to my hotel.  After he left I packed my stuff for tomorrow’s flight to Singapore and decided to leave most of my stuff in suitcase in the hotel. I love to travel light.
At 9pm meeting with ichigo and another member at Banana. It  was time to say good byes to  both, Ichigo  went home as he felt bit under water  and another member and me  trekked to Good Boys. Instantly we become object of attention but today it was offing time for me as I had other ideas. But bought a drink for Burmese boy I offed few times in the past . I keep him in high regard because when he was in Jupiter he has distinction of being first ever Jupiter boy who smiled at me.
After we left I send message to L asking if he is able to return to my room for another round. Answer was immediate and positive and since he lives nearby we both arrived at the lobby at the same time. I needed some consolator before flying to Singapore for the first time in my life in the morning .      
     

What a stupid tittle for trip report – if somebody says that , I won’t blame him . I’d do the same. Still I stick to it. Reason is simple – during my month -long trip which took me to 4 countries of SE Asia I stay in 11 hotels and in 9 of those I was given room on , you guessed it correctly, third floor.
 Arrived at Swampy past midnight. Quite crowded , I was 11th in priority line. By time I cleared immigration and bought SIM card, my luggage popped out so I could go straight to taxi. Driver suggested 500 to Silom, I agreed but said ‘you pay the tolls”, he nodded approvingly. Considering that meter would be 300 plus 50 airport fee plus 75 tolls, that 500 was not that extortionate . In passing I noticed that exchange booths are giving less then 30 baht for a dollar , never seen dollar that low.
 In taxi I contacted D. He is boy I was watching on Grindr and in June spotted him in Dreamboys. Offed him , we hit it one so in Aug he was my companion for most nights. As enthusiastic on 10th meeting as he was on 1st to a degree that I considered D monodiet on Thai part of this trip  but as we learn soon life intervened providing some variety. Few minutes after I entered  my Raya room, one of two this trip NOT on 3rd floor, phone buzzed – D arrived for reunion, smiling and clingy as always. He once said ‘ my body is yours to enjoy” and that says a lot about his attitude.
 In the morning we had breakfast in hotel and then parted ways. My watch stopped at 1.30. , battery dead I thought so went to soi 5 market to see if I can get it fixed. Battery was good, It was mechanism which died after 25 years of service. But it turned new oner can be had for 400 and watch will be ready in 4 hrs. Then to XOne to exchange money. In the afternoon jet lag started to rise its ugly head but I couldn’t sleep. Guardian Angel passed by and suggested I walk to Prince in  Soi Suan Plu 6 so I did. On main street I noticed barbers are charging 150 for haircut  , shop after shop so went in  first without customers and got spruced up.
 In front of Prince , like last time , James whom I saw first time in Arena back in 2013 welcomed me but somehow Guardian Angel told me to check inside who is available. And there he was – L ,another  guy I was watching on Grindr. Not just standing there but smiling at me so my choice was easy. Mamasan talked me to take VIP room , I gladly did , after all it’s my 1st day on month long trip. 1.5 hr. session , I thought I’m in paradise or something. Massage great and guy even better, knowing well his job and sensing why I’m there. Stupidly I left my phone in the room so we couldn’t exchange  Line or WhatsApp.
My only hope was I will find him on Grindr and contact him there or if comes to worst , will return to Prince in day or two. What I secured from L was that he is very willing to do Long Time. It looked that between D and L I will have Bangkok part of tip secured.
In the evening meetup in Foodland with two forum members, talk over dinner and when time came , we all three went to Tawan.
 Bar was full, not that it’s hard task to fill it up, but full it was. It was quite refreshing to be in bar knowing that I ‘m not looking for an off. Of course K planted himself  right beside me so I treated him with drink but told him right away, no offs tonight because I like girls now.
 
After show we parted ways , I went to Dreamboys to see what was going on the scene and of course picked up D  for another round  of stamp collecting.
 
Great start for the trip , that day one.
 
 
 
 

Had to skip the annual trip to Bangkok this year. It would have been finished now anyway. But I sure like Bangkok, heat and humidity excepted, so I do appreciate all of you who share your tales of your trips. Keep the stories coming...and thank you!

I dumped my luggage in hotel room and my guy and I soon joined the other guys outside hotel entrance. There were 6 of us including myself and I also invited a forum member to karaoke.
So 7 of us in total walked noisily to H.i.M. bar which used to be known as Sky Bar. The two biggest karaoke rooms had been pre-booked by other customers so we were ushered to a normal size room. Smaller but the sofa was stil long enough to seat 8 people  and there were two long tables for food and drinks. Every room also had an en suite toilet so all our needs were met.
In December, I had karaoke with  Myanmar guys. Tonight it was with Vietnam guys so all Vietnamese songs. 3 hours of singing and drinking. Bill was close to 8k baht. We started at about 10.45pm and ended at 1.30am. Forum member came and watched for a while. First time at karaoke for him. When karaoke was over, one of the guys went off to meet his girlfriend, three guys went to another bar to continue drinking while I went back to Voco Hotel with my guy and we would stay together for the next two nights until Sunday morning. 

So after a full day of work Christmas I ran home, tooK a shower, grabbed my bag and off to the airport for a very long trip.  I had planned on sleeping on the long flight but the guy next to me had other plans.  I won’t go into it all but I think the record was around 15 minutes without an elbow to me side.
Anyway after landing in Bangkok at the satellite terminal I speed through customs.  then to the ATM which wouldn’t give me cash.  Not going to lie this worried me, no cash for trip?  Well I had some left from last year.
Change of plans instead of taxi I saved my little cash by taking the Train,  and MRT to Silom.  Finding my way to the Raya I passed a different bank and decided to try and soon I had a nice stack of bills.
At Raya an easy check in then a shower and it was time for the adventure to start… at 711.
when I stepped out I realized the temperature was nice so I decided to start with a walk and somehow found myself at the front door to Arena.
Picking a massage guy was easy. He was built nicely, handsome face and I soon learned he gave a less then mediocre massage.
Not a big deal or surprise really. I’m sure you know that wasn’t why I was there.   Any whew the alters were great.  Rock hard chest, very nice arms and bigger then expected… other things.  I tipped more than the minimum. 
Then to 711 and seeing a pizza place my stomach started reminding me to eat.
Next I decided to visit Soi  gay and decided to try Banana.  I had never been there before and was surprised to enjoy the drag show and the guys were hot.  bar was packed and I was seated next to a cute guy from Singapore.
After a bit a number with fit guys showing there … assets came on and one guy looked off he had filled the condom with air making him look off.   At the end of number the guy with the mask took it off.  I’m mostly sure it was the one that got away last trip.  He looked angry about something though.
i kept looking for him but he didn’t come down stairs.  One drag number was especially good and I tipped her and I never do that.  

Some time later a banana song came on and the guys came out showing us their bananas , sort of a lot had air in the condoms.   Guy who got away didn’t look mad anymore but not happy either.  I tried tipping him and he took the baht but no eye contact… I decided not to off him and to save my ears and left.
I went to the night market in search for banana pancakes but no luck.  Anyone with recommendations on where to find them.  Any way a called it a night and back to hotel and crashed hard.

Day 4 - The morning after
After i sent my guy away at lobby, I went back to the reception to asked if there is any update about my phone. Sadly, the answer is still no update. I replied to them saying that I guess Ill need to shop for a new phone now, to which they awkwardly chuckles. 
Went back to my room, I recalled that I have my laptop with me, and perhaps I still have access to my whatapps. I recently use whatapps web to access certain file from my phone. So I switch on my laptop and checked if I can open my whatapps. And voila, it is still connected to my account! I immediately grab a pen and paper to jot down all the important phone numbers from my contact. I also texted my two malaysian friends telling them the whole ordeal. 
I also checked my email. And there i saw a reply from bolt customer service about the lost phone report sent by hotel receptionist. Its an email asking for me to give additional detail, my phone number where they can contact me, and consent to share it with the driver. This was apparently sent to me at 3.31 am and i replied with the hotel receptionist number and hotel name around 9.33 am. And I received a reply of acceptance 9.37 am. I am impressed with the speed of response by bolt customer service!
After checking my email, whatapps and facebook on my laptop, i search on how i can open my line account on the laptop but this wasnt successful, not without my phone with me. Went for a nap a bit then was woken up by door bell and a knock on my door. I thought oh must be the house keeping. 
Went to the door to open it and its actually the bellboy, telling me that someone at the lobby asking for me, to return my phone. Im still half asleep but the news woke me up like ive been punched in the face. Still in disbelief, I told the bellboy thank you so much and I will be right down.
Went down full with anticipation, and as I came out of the lift, I saw him the bolt driver from last night, and on his hand, my phone! It was turned off though, probably due to out of battery. I cant describe this feeling of relief, like all of the sudden, all my headaches are gone. I thank the driver and the hotel bellboy and believe it or not, had to convince the driver to take some cash from me as appreciation. He first refuse the cash, but when i told him it is to cover his gas and it is also from my heart, he reluctantly accept it. He then asked to take a picture with me, showing the phone, to report back to bolt. The receptionist working right now was already a new crew so Ill have to thank the night shift receptionist tonight. 
Back at the hotel, I immediately charge my phone and start to switch on my phone. Told my two malaysian friends that Ive gotten my phone back. Having my faith in humanity restored, i started browsing my line, replied a text from forum member, and started planing my next massage, this time with history massage. Been meaning to try this one guy but based on previous report, his tips is quite high, but recently, a friend told me that he has reduced his tips. Also texted a fellow forum member that might be in bkk. All booked, and back to having my nap. 
Woke up and went for my massage appointment at history, and met my KL friend there, he also booked another masseur there. My session went better than expected, massage was super sensual, my masseur is really good looking with greek god like body, and after was great as well. 
Tonight, a planned dinner with some forum veterans, 5 of us at 25 degrees. It was at first only a dinner for two, but I asked one of them when he is free to meet for dinner and he asked if i wanted to join tonight's dinner and i said yes, and asked if some other members can join as well, so in the end, its 5 of us tonight at 6.30pm
Had a nice catching up and since its still early, I went to see forum member and watching some of the guys playing pool at bar downstairs of freshboy. We then went to jupiter for the night for their show. And of course, the highlight of the show is still the famous boom, but their overall shows also improves. Yes, they have decided to increase the entrance free by 100 baht. We chose to swallow it as my friend already have someone he wanted to off tonight and I already have a guy as well. In my mind, i couldve just reduced amount of guys ill tip tonight by 1 lol. A very productive night indeed, my friend booked a guy tonight, and tomorrow as well, which is his last day. I also prebooked a guy as well. 
Had supper at foodland, but before that, went to goodboy to say hi to a fellow forum member who has now confirmed with me that he is in bkk. Went back to our respective hotel by bolt. By now im a loyal bolt customer hehe.
At the hotel, I told my guy to go to the lift first as i went to the reception to say my thanks to the receptionists. She asked if I already bought a new phone and I told her that no, i havent bought one yet.

Day 3.95 - The unmitigated disaster.
I immediately asked my guy if he saw my phone, and he said no. I saw one phone on the table and it was his phone. I checked my small backpack thoroughly and its not there. My last recollection was of course i used my phone to book my bolt, and its not with me now, so it can only mean i left it in the bolt car!
At this time, my guy is already in the bathroom ready to shower. I told him I would go downstairs to find my phone. In my mind, I was hoping that the driver realized that my phone was left in his car and already gave it to the concierge for me to collect. 
Alas, when i reached the reception, I asked if anyone leave my phone with them or concierge and they said no. My heart sank, and thoughts running through my head of what will happen if I lost my phone, at the beginning of my trip too.
I then told the reception that I believed I left my phone in the bolt car. She asked me if i remember the car plate number. I told her i dont, i can maybe remember the number but not the thai character for sure. The receptionist asked where did the car dropped me, and i told her near the entrance to to hotel lobby, and not at the street. So she called the security and asked them if they can see the security camera footage if they can identify the car plate number. She asked me what time the car dropped me and if i recall the car color and make. I told her its a black toyota vios.
While they are helping me with this, she asked me if i can wait and sit at the lounge chair. After few minutes waiting, i thought of an idea. I went back to the receptionist and asked if she has a line. Asked her to find my line account but unfortunately, she couldnt find it using both my phone number or user id. Not the first time i had this issue, especially when exchanging contacts with guys, and best way to bypass this is by sharing QR code. Well, since i did not have my phone with me, that wont work. 
I then asked if she has whatapps, and unfortunately she doesnt have one. I then asked if she can try to call my phone using my phone number, which is a malaysian phone number, so it will be an international call. I of course said I will pay any charges incur. She tried that as well but apparently had issues getting through the operator. 
After trying for a while, she then asked he colleague if she has whatapps and to my relief, she said yes. I gave her my phone number for her to add my whatapps account and ask her if she can call my phone. She called, and no one answer. She called again, the same. At this point, I am totally at lost already. Not to mention, i have a hunky guy waiting for me in my room. Ill just have to accept that chances of recovering my phone are slim now. 
Before I went upstair, i checked again with reception if there is any update on the security camera, and she said not yet. But then, she asked me if the phone number i shared with her is the one i used for my bolt account. I said yes. She told me she is reporting my incident with bolt. And hope that bolt will respond soon. My experience with customer service have been a mixed bag, so I didnt get my hopes up that they will respond anytime soon, seeing its now maybe 2am. Having half accepted my fate, I thanked the receptionist, the security and the concierge for their help, and went back to my room. 
I guess as i aged, I tend to get better control of my emotion and learnt to accept things that is out of my control. Ive done all i could, and now, its up to the universe to do its thing. While the memory of tonight is somewhat tainted, my session with my guy actually went great. Even though language is a bit of barrier, I think we had good chemistry. He stays until breakfast and before he left, i asked him if he can let his friend (who went with my friend) knows that i lost my phone and I will meet him later at dinner as per agreed before. 
 

Day 3 - The luck continues, or does it?
From this day onwards, no specific notes were taken, so itll be a recount from my text messages, and mostly from memories.
My guy left after breakfast together at the hotel buffet. I needed to change money at superrich, so we walked together to the nearby branch at Sukhumvit MRT. While location is convenient, rate isnt as good as x-one nor the silom plaza superrich branch so I change a bit of cash here. There are several other exchange place nearby but rates for MYR-Baht isnt any better. 
Back to hotel to catch up with sleeping and then woke up around 2 or so and get ready to head to Prime for an hour foot massage. Forum member told me he is at MBK shopping when asked about dinner plan for tonight and he wont be able to join. I told him im at Prime now for foot massage and having late lunch later if he wanted to join for a chat. We met at 90gram at Quarter Silom for a chat of world politics.
Back to hotel to enjoy the lounge until its time to head out for dinner tonight. Tonight dinner is only us 3 malaysian, my friend who travelled with me and another friend i know from telegram group who used to work in bangkok. We decided to try Central park again and this time browsing through their food court area, where almost 70% of the stalls here have michelin labels. I didnt eat much since im still full from late lunch and titbits in the lounge so I just order a drink, while my friends ordered crab fried rice and fried rice with fish.
Tonight, we decided to go to dreamboy. But since its still early, we parked ourselves at midnight bar. I always have a thing for one of their waiter. He was fun and flirty but ive yet to off him. He is very popular anyway and for me, he is still a borderline case. But i still enjoys his attention at the bar. My KL friend went up to freshboy as he already arrange a boy to off tonight. Meanwhile we go to dreamboy around 10.30pm for the show and see their line up.
We took the seat at the very back and center, so we got a good look at the stage. Pretty impressive numbers of guys available to choose from. Perhaps the most boys in all bars in Bkk. All kind of guys too, from twinks, to average, muscular and geriatric. My friend didnt see anyone to his liking though, and im not surprise as that has always been my experience before as well. Lots of guys of all different type but none Id take.
However, I have received intel that a guy i really like from FB moved here, so I tried to look if he is around and lo and behold, i saw him when its in between shows and guys started to rotate on the stage. However, while he looks very impressive and stands out in FB, here, he looks small indeed in comparison to his peers in the line up. 
Without much hesitation, I called mamasan and told his number to come join me for a drink. The usual conversation ensued. Asked if he will go with me to my hotel, he said yes. Asked if he will do long time with me, and im surprised that he didnt hesitate to say yes. Reiterate that will he stay with me until breakfast and he repeated yes.
Why am I surprised? Because the last conversation we had in FB, he flatly said no long time to me. This time, I did told him that i know him from FB before, though he cant recall me. Cant recall much of dreamboy shows, as we left around 11 pm so we didnt see much of their shows.
Anyway, happy that im all set for the night, so I asked my friend if he wants to stay at dreamboy or move somewhere else. He said move elsewhere and we land on Banana Bar. Told my KL friend that we are heading there and he met us there as well. He told us that his guy were not at the bar and he told him if he is still interested, to meet him at banana. His guy show up 15 mins later. He actually went with another customer for short time off before. 
At banana bar, we each has our own bench, and each of us has a guy sitting with us, all from different bars. Me with dream boy guy my KL friend with FB guy, and the other friend, a guy from banana. We stay for a while as we always enjoyed the show here long enough to see their boy line up and big cock shows  I counter around 8 guys. Of course their shows are mostly done by their very beautiful ladyboys (my guy definitely enjoys seeing them) and a dance crew (some of them can be off as well albeit at higher price).
We left for supper at silom edge and each of us depart back to our hotel with taxi/bolt. I ordered my bolt and off we go, 3 of us, me and my guy with my friend since he can save few baht taking grab from sukhumvit instead. So we say good bye to my KL friend . At my hotel entrance, I also said goodbye to my friend as he ordered his grab.
As we entered my hotel, my guy asked if he can use my phone charger, I said yes. As I reach my pocket to grab my phone, I suddenly realized that it is not there..... 

Day 1 - All the same but different.
My flight took off on time, and arrived in LOS by 5.40pm. Immigration was smooth and im already in bolt by 6.28pm and in my hotel room at 7.30pm. Bolt cost 290, gave 400 for not using toll without me telling him not to.
Tonight, Ive already made plan to meet fellow forum member for dinner at G around 8.30pm. It was full house, so we have to wait 10-15min for the best table outside, which is perfect for people watching.
We heard news that bar will close at midnight due to police raid. It is said that its due to marathon event tomorrow. Gass bkk event closed their weekend only bar tonight, while E.D.T were discussing if they will continue open or not. Later on we saw that the bar also closed.
So we know that we need to get our night companion quick today and its logical to go to the nearest one that have our type, Jupiter. We went in around 9.30pm, and to my delight, my favorite singer poppy is singing tonight. I can only see 3 boys around, but we get a good seat on the right of the stage with proper seating. Mamasan assure us more boys will show up soon and true enough, plenty of eye candy to choose from. Perhaps close to 40 guys now, mostly hunks and one body builder type. 
In all the bars in Bangkok, I think Jupiter is the one bar that i would definitely use their mamasan. One, they will tell you who will go with guys, and two, most guys dont have number so mamasan with their green light saber will point your guy for you. That said, other than that, ill mostly will deal directly with the guy on tips, and what they will or will not do. 
Near to ten, guys are getting ready for the first walk, black long sleeve. Some guys do have number but rarely a case. Right before the walk, saw my regular guy on the other side, and he saw us too, and smiles acknowledging us. Easy decision for me tonight. Without delay, when he walk near me, i gesture him to sit next to me for a drink. Things about regular is we tend to forgo the normal conversation and assumed things will go as usual, which usually the case, but not this night, more on this later. 
Jupiter shows has always been great in my book. Most of them performed by their guys, and it is both sexy, and alluring without fully exposed penises though. And luckily tonight, we have been treated with the legendary hula hoop shows by none other than the famous Boom.
Needless to say, i told mamasan im offing him tonight. My friend also found someone to brings back as well. We stayed until my guy finished his show, and pay the bills. Another member decided to stay on. We left the bar and as always i asked my guy if he wanted to eat. He asked if i want to eat as well, i said up to you lol Off we go to take a taxi to tiger mala place near silom plaza. 
After dinner, we part way, as i need to go to 7e for supplies and say goodbye to my friend. Booked bolt to go back to hotel and then my guy drop the news. He said he cannot do long time with me tonight. Its already past 1 am, so there is low chance for me to get a diff guy now. I told him Im not okay with that and he shouldve told me in the bar. He said sorry and thought i would be ok for short time. I said ive never went short time with him before and not ok with it now as well. 
We went back and forth thankfully amicably until my bolt ride arrived and he reluctantly enter the car. We continue the conversation, whispering now, and i gave him a choice. Either option 1 or option 2. 1, he go back home first to deal with whatever he needs to, and then come join me back at hotel. At this point he wasnt upfront on the reason why he cant do long time. Option 2 is basically, we dont proceed, but i kept this to myself, and just presented to him option 1 is the only option ill accept and asked how long he needed before he can join me.
He took his time to decide and finally suggested a compromise that works for me and him, only because I like him, and i suppose he also think about me as his regular or at least id like to think that lol Anyway, after that minor altercation, back in hotel, all goes well. Luckily im still in the mood, so is he. We talked also about other stuff and this is also where he told me why he cant do long time anymore after i guess it correctly. I told him i respected his decision and i repeated that he shouldve told me in the bar. But we also agree that the compromise we agree on works for future off as well. In my book, he will still be my regular. 

As some of you may already know, I was in Bangkok for 10 days, from 29th November until 9th December 2025. I know i have sort of stop writing trip reports, due so mixed of life and work interfering as well as lack of interest to share lol. Even for this trip report, ive been contemplating whether i should write a report or not.
Alas, I am less busy with work now, and life is a bit dull at the moment, so here I am, back with writing trip reports here.
Year end trip this time was planned a bit earlier, unlike some of my trips this year and last year where it was a bit of a last minute decisions. I usually try to align my trip, or at least part of my trip with a friend from KL, which have been my bangkok travel buddy for few trips now. Normally, he will be the one who booked his travel first, and ill adjust my booking to suit his schedule as I am more flexible and will be in Bangkok longer. For this trip, he will be in Bangkok for the first half of my trip. 
Initially, I couldve stayed in Bangkok longer, up to 20 days, as I have vacation days to be used before year end, but two things happened that made me decided on only a 10 days trip to Bangkok. One, a work meeting on 15th December, which i couldnt skip. Two, I am very close to obtain gold status for Enrich program (Malaysia Airlines), and need to travel at least to two more locations to reach that gold.
So my work meeting helped me to decide when i should split the trips, hence 10 days Bangkok, followed by 4 days Phnom Penh, and after my work meeting, another trip, which at this point of time its between vietnam (ho chi minh or da nang) or domestic location (Kota Kinabalu). I ended up going to Kota Kinabalu instead. 
Another to do list i did this trip is to maintain my status with hilton honors, so first half of my trip, Im staying in Asok instead of the more convenient Silom area. Its a bit unfortunate that Hilton did not have hotel located near enough to Silom ghetto area. Instead, the closest one is Hilton Garden Inn Silom, which is in Bang Rak area, closer to the riverside. Id rather stay in Asok where the hilton there is near a bts station. As member here, I was offered free upgrade to executive room, on the highest floor. 
The second half of my trip, I stayed in my second home, Furama Silom. Booked deluxe room (slightly more than the cheapest superior room) with breakfast and got a 17th floor room with updated furniture and bed, with of course the glass wall for the bathroom. Was contemplating between Furama and Raya, but raya rates seems to be much higher now, so value wise, Furama wins. Already spent too much on Hilton hotel so that helps with my budget.

I’m an Airbnb person. Been using them for last 10 years with no complaints.   I’m moving into one in a few hours.  I decided to fly over a few days before Unit was available.   Staying in hotel for 4 nights make me realize how much I enjoy the room and privacy of a condo.

To be fair to the waiters at Midnight beer bar, they only know the game of checkers and they have always thought the name was chess. They don't know the actual name is different. Nevertheless, they are pretty good at checkers.
We played several games of checkers (using chess board and pieces) for about an hour as we were waiting for some guys in bar to finish work so that we could have supper together.
While Team Chess (3 of us comprising my guy and me plus a forum member who joined us) won overall more games of checkers against Team Checkers (4 of them), one Myanmar waiter is so good that he stayed undefeated!

I understand what you’re going through TMaX.   I just went thru the same thing.  I had major surgery last year and finally finished with recovery.   My  doctors have given  me permission to travel on long trip.   They think I’m like normal tourist and will only be gone 2 weeks.   I didn’t tell them I’m staying 2 months.   Just keep thinking all good things Thailand, and reading the forum will help the time go by.

Midnight Bar is a good recommendation. The waiters are charming and speak English well. They are also great fun.

Amazing looking back,  I did almost all flights in Business class except where I went on budget airlines with only economy....yet I have chrome faucets 🤷‍♂️

I've been fortunate with award seats, but I'm extremely flexible and bese some of my trips on the airlines availability.

Going back at the end of this trip, I bought flying FROM Jakarta roundtrip to Boston coming back in March, ANA/United business class was 2900usd.

Coming to this side this time I got Cancun-EWR-Delhi on United Polaris, 88k miles.... originally was on Ethiopia connection form EWR, they did a sched change and I got someone at United to to put me on their nonstop instead at the same miles....he did. However, the 1st girl that answered the phone, I could tell was a bitch with attitude, so I hung up and luckily got the nice guy, I knew as soon as he answered the phone he was a queen and would do it 😝

You have to be carefull and patient with AA pricing.   The high prices will usually drop a few days later.  It’s like a computer glitch. 
i was booking a Miami-Bangkok for next month.   AA web site kept coming up with $8k to 12k.  I just kept checking each day and finally got a fare of $4800.    I’ve run into this many times over the years.   I’ve got to much invested in AA to change, but it can be challenging at times.   
The Lax-Mia flights are high because the Hollywood crowd commutes back and forth.   They’ll’ pay anything.
