Previously I had requested information on this sauna, wondering if there were any nights besides Monday when this sauna thrived. No one responded.

Well, last Friday night both 117 and 202 were dead. Virtually lifeless might better describe it. So we went to Meio Mundo, and it was not dead. Thriving? Perhaps. There were a lot of people there. As has been mentioned before, this sauna attracts workers who have more of a blue collar feel. The crowd is not entirely young, but is more so than 117 or 202. For me, one of the worst aspects of the sauna has been the locker room. The sex workers are not banned from there as at Point 202. And it's just not sexual to be changing clothes, perhaps dangling on one leg, and have a guy (or more) come up and grasp your butt or twist your nipple. (The latter seems to be a common form of a worker bringing himself to your attention,)

Essentially, I am saying that the workers here are in general more aggressive than other places. It can be very difficult to extricate yourself from a new um, friend, who you wish would meet someone else. It's also, or was tonight, very warm in there.

i did return to a young man who had previously introduced himself to me- in a normal fashion- and inquire about his services. True or not, he did "everything." What did he charge? 150R. Given a comparison to guys I had been hiring at other saunasa,  I expected him to say 80. He did offer to come down to 120, but in the scheme of things, better opportunities existed.

Many of the guys at Meio Mundo sit and masturbate, allowing the passerby to note the huge size of the person's appendage. Obviously if you are an exhibitionist, you should have something to exhibit, and all of these guys do. This does not mean that they were otherwise blessed, and they did not seem to be attracting any business.

I venture to say that few of the workers were.  One wonders the future of Meio Mundo.

I've found a lot of my type of guys there....the short time rooms are the absolute worse

I have never been in one of the free rooms, the ones you pay for are bad enough! 

I've always liked Meio Mundo.  The last time there in 2011-- the guys were tame in terms of meeting their prospective clients.  No one entered our locker area and became aggressive, (which I would NOT have liked and which is unfortunate), so let me assume that because of the current economic times, things have changed drastically at MM.

2011 was a long time ago and Rio has gone through various changes since then...I was last in Meio on a Monday early this year and it was packed....There were clients and boys all over the place and based on the location of the changing rooms, there were guys very close by and guys are aggressive in all the saunas if there is a lot of competition or they are in need of making money....Also, aggressive is relative...what I consider flirting or attention somebody else may call aggressive and vice versa...

As long  as you arent being harassed or in harm, its all good..

Isn't what you relayed in your first sentence obvious?  Many things do change overtime.  That's the beauty of life and all of its mysteries.   I've gone to Rio from 2002 through 2011 and have seen lots of changes in the sauna scene as well as in the city and the culture, etc.  

I concur with your post overall but thought the first sentence was needless.

Hope to continue to enjoy your future posts and eventually reap some pleasures from them  when I manage to revisit my favorite city again!

Did you return to Cuba a few months back?  If you did-- I didn't find any reporting or perhaps one!

Maybe you should plan a trip back to your favorite city instead of living through the experiences of others...that way you have current experiences and info to offer

I think it is axiomatic that Rio deserves to be visited over 9 years, at a minimum. I hope longer, for those who love it. And if a hiatus occurs unwillingly, that it would be shortlived. Or live vicariously as a backup, as hundreds of millions of Brasileiros do with respect to their teams!

Just for clarification, the garotos at 117 also are allowed to roam around the client's locker room and some watch you change it try to start a conversation and even hock their wares. Personally, I don't mind it at all. I actually like it. Especially if it's a garoto that is just my type! I don't find it bothersome and I've never once been disrespected.

One can think of it as meet'n'greet while seeking great meat.

I encourage everyone to visit Rio while the saunas still exist.

I noted on my charge bill that I was charged for the Meio Mundo buffet. Well, they've got that right!

I usually ask to see the computer screen on checkout ... the pretext being I want to ensure they did not neglect to bill me for all chargeable features %{)
