October 18, 20187 yr As a marketing person this does not surprise me at all. Facebook told everyone that video ads did better than text ads. Turns out that was a baldface lie. I'm betting Google will go down for this too - cause they've been telling everyone video is better. As a marketing person I know that when I write a video script for a client the response rate is less than 1% When I write something text based the response rate is 2% to 8% https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/17/facebook-lawsuit-alleges-it-knew-ad-measurement-discrepancies-for-a-year.html

October 19, 20187 yr Active Members It was interesting to me. As someone who spends $2-300 per day on internet advertising I often wonder if I'm getting enough bang for my buck.

I do think the videos in providers' ads are very effective. https://www.truthdig.com/articles/lawsuit-facebook-used-faulty-data-to-convince-publishers-to-go-all-in-on-video/
October 20, 20187 yr Active Members Totally off-topic from the ad issue, but I had something happen this past month that really has my shorts in a bunch. I noticed a neighbor of +25 years had died. I posted her obit on FB for only my immediate family. 3 weeks later FB sent me "friend" suggestion for this dead person. Really has me pissed off.
