São Paulo vaccination rate 100%+

Featured Replies

appears to be great news for São Paulo & perhaps other Brazilian cities- I did not see this coming, but fantastic

São Paulo says it has fully vaccinated 100 percent of its adults. Will it be enough to stop omicron?

The coming weeks will help show how the new variant behaves in a massive urban environment where virtually everyone has been vaccinated.

yes, this Washington Post article surprised me too - had no idea that Brazilians have very little vaccine hesitancy, even w Bolsonaro working to undermine the science.  A Brazilian friend explained the most of the states are run by more practical/pragmatic leaders who are more focused on getting results vs fueling the political divisions.

if you’re interested in more up to date Covid data, check out the New York Times Covid dashboard where you can sort by county and by state. The NYT data shows almost no Covid in São Paulo and this confirms Washington Post article.  Whether this good news continues through the Omicron wave remains to be seen.

Yes, Brazilians have not had any hesitancy when it comes to vaccines and getting shots thru the public health system is free and efficient , amazing yes. Once they got the vaccine in sufficient numbers, of course.

My Brazilian friends love getting blood tests, x-rays, anything that is free, short of hospital stays in public hospitals.
