Two issues strike me from that damning account.

In other words, Tesco's auditing process and its holier than thou attitude is just a sham. Profts are profits and damn be those who suffer as a result! Shame on them.

not only Tesco's , we consumers are not any better. We are appalled and then go shopping and hunt for cheapest prices pretending not to understand connection between price and wages in both factories and sales points.

Shocking story.

The Tesco side of things was bad enough, but looking at it from the perspective of Thailand, you just know that the only reason that the employer was able to get away with so much is because these workers were presumably all Burmese.

The fact that they are not Thai citizens seems to be an excuse by employers across the board to treat them badly, from fishing boats, to maids, to factory workers.
