August 29, 201016 yr Leaving an estimated/random amount of cash on the table... That's a fair option. I didn't think of this at the time. I don't know if taking it out of their wages happens everywhere consistently. But having said that, if the waiter/s were going to ignore my request for the bill 3 times, then proceed to ignore my request for the bill twice at the counter, and again when I said I was leaving and disregard my complaint that I needed to go to the airport... then I'm not sure it's such an unfair thing that the owner takes it out of their wages. I also made brief eye contact with one of the two waitresses, indicating what I was doing when I was leaving, but she just seem too overwhelmed and stressed to think about it for more than a moment. I had luggage with me... so if they wanted to chase after me they were welcome to. I was very frustrated I had to wait 20 minutes without result in the first place.
August 29, 201016 yr This is where the waiters fail to think. If it was me, I would have made you wait 15 minutes, then given you the bill, waited another 20 minutes before coming to collect the money, and then taken at least 15 more minutes to return the change. Of course, if I was really out to have a good time, once I brought the change, I would have made sure to have short-changed you. That would have been good for another half hour at least . . .
August 29, 201016 yr Well then I would just leave exact or close to exact change on the table and leave LOL.
August 29, 201016 yr Another original post from March 2010. Do these old posts count as new post for the contest? I see RichLB started this thread in March!

August 29, 201016 yr Well, not for posts resurrected since the new policy came into effect. This thread has taken off again, anyway, it seems.
