Teams worked tirelessly overnight to restore Pattaya’s coastline, which is a crucial asset for tourism. “The storm has caused considerable damage to our beautiful beach,” said a local government official overseeing the restoration. “We understand how important this beach is for both the local community and tourists. Our immediate goal is to repair the damage and prevent further erosion.” The restoration work includes reinforcing the sand, stabilizing the beach surface, and implementing measures to make the shoreline more resilient to future storms. “We are deploying sandbags and other materials to reinforce the affected areas,” explained the project manager for the restoration team. “Our aim is to restore the beach as quickly as possible while ensuring that it can withstand future challenges.”
September 4, 20242 yr As shared with us by @reader, I witnessed the start of the recent storm damage to our Dongtan gay beach area here in Jomtien (Pattaya). They had a bulldozer out trying to level out the deep ruts in the beach sand from the recent storms. Unfortunately, it has reached all the way up onto the lovely sidewalk - thus weakening the sidewalk above. We still have all of this month and part way into the next month for the monsoon season to continue..... Yikes....
