Popular Post PeterRS Posted June 10 Popular Post Posted June 10 In another thread there are comments about a flower festival in Baguio in The Philippines. Not so well known is the one that has been held annually in Chiang Mai for more than 40 years and has become a major tourist attraction. Held next year for three days in February, the dates have not yet been set but it takes place over a week-end. Apart from seeing an abundance of flowers in the Chiang Mai area, there is always a major float parade on the Saturday. It's a bit like the summer Candle Festival in Ubon Ratchanthani except the floats are made of flowers and not wax. I have not yet attended and so these photos are from the official Flower Festival site. Mick, vinapu, Ruthrieston and 4 others 7 Quote

Care to use the Search box and enlighten us when this post might have been made. Or is it merely a thought and not a fact? This is one recent magazine's view - "The Chiang Mai Flower Festival is a wonderful festival, held in the northern city of Chiang Mai every year. It’s a three-day event celebrating the end of the winter season, showcasing the stunning natural beauty of flowers and plants that bloom in northern Thailand. Visiting the Chiang Mai Flower Festival is one of the best things to do in Chiang Mai if you are traveling to the city in February. As a conscious traveler, you can enjoy the parade with impressive floral floats, witness Thai beauty pageants, indulge in Pad Thai and Khao Soi, and watch live music performances." https://travelersanddreamers.com/chiang-mai-flower-festival/  Quote
