It would b well to remember that farangs can also dislike losing face, and that there need not b a 3rd party present in order to loose face. I loose face when two Thais (for example - mamasan and boy) speak about me, in my presence, in an obviously denigrating manner. Whenever a local takes advantage of a farang's cluelessness (not to mention MBs exploiting un-assertive 1st timers) - face is lost.
