I'm a solo traveler and will be in Bangkok for the first time in September. I'm staying at gay hostels and enjoying gay bathhouses/spas. Do Asians make the first move on westerners (for sex) or is it up to me to approach them first.  I'm not sure what is the proper etiquette in Asian countries.

It’s a mixed bag. The older guys will be pretty direct, the younger twinks will wait until you’re in a darkroom or away from where friends can see.

Or you might be there during an orgy or foam party, then it can be hard to keep their hands off:)

So it really depends. The universal smile, eye contact and light touch work here the same as anywhere else in the world.

The only point I'd add is once again fairly general elsewhere. If you happen to let you hand stray a little and touch the leg of a cute Asian you have an eye on, should he brush it off it means he is not interested. So just pass on to the next guy.

There’s definitely a lot of sticky rice, especially in certain circles… but thankfully the potato queens are around too 😁.

I always joke with my Asian friends who say they’re shy or conservative—that may be true in public, but behind closed doors or in a dark room, they’re up for everything
