mauRICE Posted October 6 Posted October 6 As the full moon shines bright, may it illuminate your path towards good health, happiness and prosperity. Today is also the end of the Buddhist Lent or ออกพรรษา in Thailand. Alcohol consumption will probably see a surge. Some Buddhists abstain from alcohol during the Lent period. jimmie50, vinapu and Ruthrieston 1 2 Quote
PeterRS Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Thank you. I aways enjoy the various yearly sun/moon Festivals, although I have never enjoyed Moon cakes. Too rich for me! Looking further to the end of the year, I always think Christmas is such an overblown Festival, the more so in a Buddhist country. It is just a commercial event designed for increased sales. I always prefer to celebrate the Winter Solstice which usually comes a few days before Christmas. Quote
