A tale of two boys: an Easter parable

There was this big boy who entered a playground and started picking on a smaller guy, insisting that he hand over his collection of toy guns. He broke the boy’s left arm and declared victory. But the boy hit him with his right arm. He broke the right arm but the boy started using his legs. Worse, he started to kick out at the big boy’s friends, landing a few blows here and there which left them bruised.

The whole playground of kids crowded in for a look.

The big boy kept spluttering: “I won! I won!’’. But the little one was still breathing and spitting back. Big boy told his friends to “help, help’’ and called them cowards. But they didn’t seem keen on joining the melee.
It wasn’t their fight, they said.

They were more concerned about the little guy keeping the key to the pantry where their lunch packets were kept. “Open it up! Open it up! We’re starving!’’ they told the little guy who merely grinned at them.

The big boy, who was losing face minute by minute, said he would get his extended family to the playground to do more whacking - or maybe not. That he would go home since he already won - with or without the toy collection. Or maybe not. Threatening to unleash hell on earth, he rained curses on the little guy, invoking God’s name: “Good God! What the hell do you think you’re doing! I will obliterate and annihilate you!’’

This was Friday.

On the third day, the little guy got up.

Wishing all friends and forum members who celebrate a happy Easter. 🫶
