Medellin and I bis (red) hotel.

Hey.

I'm actually staying in Bogota, for the 10th time.
Met quite a lot of scorts here, (Mil and Grindr), good, average, bad.
I am in a Chapinero building with 24/7 security guards and cameras, where no questions asked when I enter with a "friend".

I'd like to try Medellin again.
I've been there once a few years ago and stayed in an Airbnb, mostly unprotected (only cameras and a badge to enter).
But I have very bad memory as I was sick with a very very high fever (probably heatstroke or food poisoning) for almost all the stay.

This time I'll go to a hotel, may be at I BIS (red) on Calle 20.

I read some of the recommandations on the topics (Living, Inntu, Hampton...) but I'm not sure I found any on middle budget.
Does anyone have any feedback regarding this hotel and the "guests"?

I heard you, you are looking for an hotel. But I also read that you have experience with airbnb. Let me recommend you the place where I stayed last November/December for 40 days.

You can see the pictures, they are accurate. The place is in a recently gentrified area right in the middle between Poblado at the south and Laureles and Centro to the north. It is a recently gentrified former industrial area, around the Museo de Arte Moderno. You have everything you may need in a 10 minutes walk area, countless restaurants options, many of them very good/excellent.

Their visitors policy is extremely liberal. Your boys can use the parking for their motos. They have to register with their IDs, but many times they were only asked for the number and did not have to show it. Most importantly, no questions ask. They can stay for a few minutes or overnight. There is 24 hours security (two desks, one at the entrance and one at the garage) and cameras, everything new and recently built, almost not used.

But for personal reasons, after more than 10 years and a hundred of Airbnb stays in many countries, I prefer to avoid give them my money.

And it's a 30 days minimum stay.
I will visit Medellin for 3 or 4 days, I already have a 60 days accommodation in Bogota.

I've stayed at the Hampton, no problems with guests with a Colombian ID or passport, the key being if they're Venezuelan and don't have the proper admittance stamp in the passport or a Colombian ID, they won't let them stay.... I'm talking from experience.

Basic hotel, decent location, but the girls at reception have attitudes  when people bring local "visitors" with them, male or female.... I didn't care, but a friend that was traveling once with me in his own room, hated it, said they made him feel so uncomfortable, my attitude was fuck em. 

Having said that, I haven't been back, I get discounts at Hilton because I used to be a GM of hotels, but would still hesitate to go there unless I didn't have any other options, I'm not a huge fan of Airbnb, but do stay in one in MDE.
