This is right outside Central Festival today. It had not rained that much and for only about an hour. We saw this and thought we would take a few photos for those of you that miss LOS!

The rainy season's over! Surely this was just a heavy downpour. It would be interesting to know if other parts of Bangkok also were also overwhelmed, or whether it was just a little local difficulty.

Love the pics! The downpour on Saturday was worse than today. Ruined the beach in Saturday afternoon. Luckily, I passed by Central Festival earlier before the rain started.

Thanks Michael...and yes, I am missing Thailand very much. Though not all together due to your pictures of the rain....BF has something to do with it as well.

I thought the rainy season was supposed to be well over by November. Isn't average November rainfall about 20% of that in September ?

I have often visited in late October/early November (possibly the best time of year to visit in my opinion) and have always experienced on or two days of rain. It tends to come in sudden, torrential downpours which deliver a lot of water in a short time. That, and the fact that they are often very localised can lead to flash floods for no apparent reason - the water has fallen a few miles away.
