With the collaboration between Pattaya Council, Minitry of Defence, and Chonburi Administrative Organization, Pattaya International Fireworks Competition 2012 will be presented on 30 November 2012 - 1 December 2012. The purpose for organizing this event is to celebrate 85th birthday anniversary of the present King of Thailand.

 

I have seen this event in the past and it is pretty great. There are many great places to sit and watch this and you can see from may apartments and restaurants in town.

Be sure to allow extra time to move about as last year there was over 100,000 people in town for this. It is a fun event but Pattaya will be very busy!

Do you think it's better to view from Jomtien or is somewhere around Boyztown/beach area OK?

The fireworks can't be seen from Jomtien. Pattaya Beach near Boyztown would be fine, just very crowded.

My understanding of last year is that they had 3 barges set up. One was on the left side of Central Festival and the other two were on the right side of Central Festival. Anywhere in the beach area downtown will make it easy for you to see the fireworks. I have been told by many people that last year was amazing and it is a not to miss thing in Pattaya.

I see the Pattaya one is also billed as 'international'. Which team won last year and who is the favourite for this year I wonder?
