September 9, 201313 yr A Thai Airways International flight arriving at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport late Sunday night skidded off the runway as it touched down. Thirteen passengers were injured while evacuating the aircraft. There were no fatalities. According to an airline statement, Thai Airways flight 679, operated with an Airbus A330-300 aircraft, departed Guangzhou, China, at 9:25 p.m. and arrived in Bangkok at 11:20 p.m. After touching down, a landing gear malfunction caused the aircraft to skid off the runway, according to the airline. Sparks were seen in the vicinity of the right-side landing gear, near the engine. September 9, 201313 yr On SGT board somebody reported that plane logo was almost immediately painted over in attempt to hide plane owner. Saving face measure or effect of some policies / insurance perhaps? /, I'm just curious

Every Thai and most foreigners sure as hell recognize the colors they couldn't cover up (and which you can see half a mile away - notice the other Thai Air plane taking off in the background?). On the plus side, I haven't heard any reports of the pilots running away....hehe.
September 9, 201313 yr Yes but unfortunately the police were called to the scene and low and behold it turns out that actually the accident was all the fault of the one and only farang who was on the plane who was sitting in row 23 reading the paper and minding his own business, so he's been arrested and several senior police officers have been seen going in and out of his cell with scraps of paper with baht figures written on them ! Those pesky farang, the cause of all of Thailand's problems it seems !! lol Who'd of thunk it eh :-)
