Incalls at less than great hotels

Recommended Posts

I had wanted to know how some of you would handle visiting an escort at a hotel that happens to be in a shady side of town, but may look somewhat descent.

Rarely I'll get a room to host in, and there was a time I went out of town to a hotel I had seen on expedia or someplace and the overall hotel looked fine from the pictures. Even when I got into the room it was descent, everything remodelled and although it was missing a couple things (fridge, WiFi in the room) it was comfortable. Just something to get through an incall I had the next morning...

Well apparently the hotel was in a bad area of town and although I didnt have any problems there were some suspicious guest here and there but it was late afternoon and I was tired from have driven 3 hours...so I was like whatever. But when he showed up he bought up how he didnt feel safe there (although it wasnt bad enough for him to walk into my room and use the bathroom, which I thought was suspicious)...

Point is the hotel wasnt in the best neighborhood, and may have turned the guy off. But since I mainly do outcalls Im not trying to go all Ritz Carlton on it. Most my hotels are descent 3 stars, but once in a blue I end up getting the 'good deal' in a new town. So how would I go about not looking bad when Im already there.

Tripadvisor or other websites that offer user reviews will usually give you a good idea of what you're up against when looking for a hotel in an area that you don't know well. There are plenty of budget properties that are well reviewed and well located on tripadvisor. It may take a little work to seek them out, but you should be able to get an idea of both the price of the property and the "star" rating. Look for multiple reviews versus hanging your hat on one single review of a property that may have issues.

I have used it to find everything from decent $50 a night hotels when I need a break on a long car trip to a really nice little resort that was incredibly inexpensive ($100 a night) in Mexico last summer.

Rian very good topic!

Was the client picking up the cost of the room?If so perhaps more discussion would have been in order.

If you are doing incalls while traveling then yes-you do need to pay some attention to the lodging.

I am trned of to really scary/sleazy rooms-to the point that I cannot get aroused.

But I would be suspicious if the fella I was visiting was staying in too nice of a place also-thinking that there will be a sponser in the background who might walk in on us(happened a few times)at an innaproprite moment.

I know a lot of the working boys like priceline.Biddingfortravel.com is a good aid when using priceline.

I have worked deals where I pick up the lodging at a decent place for the weekend in exchange for services. The fella then has the room for the rest of the weekend to make some extra dough.

No I was paying out of pocket for that day which was another reason I had picked it. I could see if I was staying for a few days and taking multiple bookings, then I would have gotten something better, but I ended up with just that 1 person who showed.

But I've been getting into the tripadvisor reviews whenevere I get a hotel anywhere, but sometimes you cant tell because there's all different opinions. There was a place in south beach that had some bad reviews, but it was a 4 star and the hotel was nothing like the bad reviews were saying.

Next time Im going to stick with my Choice Hotels Intl. just to be on the safe side. They're usually nice and in good areas.

I'd suggest telling the guy - before he arrives - that you're new to the area, and discovered your hotel may be in an "iffy" neighborhood, but it's clean and safe. If you tell him beforehand, then he'll be expecting what he finds. You may run the risk that he'll cancel, but it's probably better having that happen before he shows up, gets surprised, and turns tail. And not in the good way.

IMHO...There's no need to stay in a seedy place (0f course accidents can happen) when you can bid on 3* or better hotels on priceline.com. Use biddingfortravel.com to get an idea of locations & rates.

Good luck on your future travels. ;)

oh ok I looked at those, good sites. I still like to read tripadvisor too , some of the things the reviewers say are hilarious, sometimes true. They rag on some of the nicest hotels.

I am not an obsessive worrier, just cautious, but I personally am nervous to go to an incall escort that is new to me as I worry in the back of my mind that it can be a scam or undercover operation. Assuming I did, and the hotel was in a bad area or fairly run down - my nervousness would increase that the escort is scammer or druggie, choosing the area for ready access to drugs. I would also be worried about my car being broken into, so not a relaxing experience.

As a client, I would appreciate the escort being upfront about the hotel and area if it was a bad surprise for him - if my previous contact had been professional, I probably would not cancel, but would either have him come to me or find my own hotel and absorb the cost.

Just an update...had my 1st incall weekend since the last time and I checked the different hotel sites some of you mentioned and found a nice pad in downtown which went quite well! Stay tuned I also did some photos there since I was already there might as well have made the best out of it ;) This was just practice for the Atlanta trip soon!

Can not wait to see teh photographic evidence fo the debauchery from the weekend! I always love to read peoples reviews. It is how I found out that the hotel I got for a really great deal was charging a 15 dollar per night resort fee on top of wanting to hold a hundred dollars per night on my credit card. All that information failed to be mentioned when i made the reservation!

I'm not sure if you are new to hotels but this is a common and standard practice with hotels of just about any standard. The way I get out of this is I will give them my debit card checking in. After I get to my room I will call the bank and nicely ask them to release all funds that are being held for the hotel. I've never had a problem doing this ever. After all is said and done I will either ask the bank to put the cost of the room in my savings and transfer the funds back to checking before checking out or just use my credit card to pay at the end of my stay. I personally do not like hotels tieing up my money but there are ways around it. One just needs to be a bit creative.

Hugs,

Greg

LOL, well too bad banks are closed all weekend when more people go to hotels. Easiest way is to just pay cash or debit only for the room cost, and then let them take whatever for incidentals which at the most is like $50. Originally they was going to charge my room times 2.

What bank do you bank with that is closed on a Saturday? This is 2009, not 1989. If your bank is closed or you can't get through on the 1-800 number it's time to switch banks. My two banks are both open on Saturdays and I can get a hold of someone on their 1-800 number 7 days a week minus holidays.
