Don't you worry, with Thai business class YOU WILL get fast track - whatever it's actual name will be, point being you won't have to wait in general queues. Ask staff where it is if need be. Also, you might want to ask the flight attendants about it when they hand out the arrival cards.

FINALLY someone posts a link where to book that service! I've heard it being talked about for a LONG time, even by people I met in person who have used it, but I never bothered to really find out how to actually book it haha. If I remember correctly one person I met in person said it was an option on the airline's website when booking the ticket. Anyway, thanks @reader edit: checked the price there, it says USD 99 for VIP Meet & Assist for international arrival. If I remember correctly (but again not 100% sure on this) someone told me it was only USD 30. Are there different channels to book such service and different service providers with different prices? Anyone know? edit 2: their service rate does not apply to economy class passengers, they ask to make special arrangements (and probably prices): To me, that implies they don't actually provide the fast track access, just assist in finding the way there and stuff. Well, I don't need a baby sitter or handler...
  3. My transfers are most usually 10k EUR, to my regular that is myself haha. Sometimes, I do more than 10k, or rather have to, but still do it in 10k increments as larger amounts (not sure where the threshold is, may be 12500 or even 20k) incur additional scrutiny (money laundering and all that BS). The current fee for that is 53.76 EUR. Never used a credit card for TW, never even considered it or thought it was an option. Might look into it, though my amounts are too large for that anyway.

yeah I wouldn't 100% vouch for anything I said in this regard (though I HAVE seen the Thai Royal Silk sign at the main immigration hall(s?). Having said that, there seem to have been multiple changes to the whole system in recent months. First they did away with the big, boarding pass sized brown premium lane vouchers and replaced them with small blue ones with airline stamp, date, flight number. They were both called "Premium LANE", but now it appears those lanes are called "FAST TRACK". Or are there both now? A "fast track" and a separate one possibly still called "premium lane" for TG passengers? I have no idea. To OP: best is to just ask some ground staff where to go

oh and as for proximity of the arrival gate to immigration: that's a lottery as someone said. You may even get an outside position with bus transfer, which sounds like a pain and time loss, but may actually be a blessing in disguise time-wise, as the bus drops people right at the immigration area, so no more potentially looooong walking.

so many replies ... hope OP doesn't get confused lol as captainmick in last post said, look for "Thai Royal Silk" sign towards the left as you enter the main immigration hall. It's not very big and seems almost hidden if you don't know you're supposed to be looking for it. Taxi: as Scooby pointed out, just go UP to departure level (level 4) and go out there, there will be enough taxis there more than happy to take you. Not only will they almost ALWAYS be happy to use the meter (happy to get a passenger back from airport at all!), but also saves the 50 Baht airport fee, which doesn't apply there. I ALWAYS do this now since probably 2 or 3 years, and never failed to immediately get a cab there, zero wait. Getting a taxi there is presumably also faster then pre-ordering a limo service, as you will not only have to find your driver (ok may be just a minute), but also walk to the parking lot, which can take some time. Exit and taxi at departure level is the fastet IMHO. At this time, well after 11pm, traffic will be fine even on Friday, so this will be your fastest way to the hotel. Do make sure to tell the driver "go highway" (although they always ask this by themselves already). You will be asked to pay for the highway toll at the two highway toll stations on the way, but it's a negligible 25 + 50 Baht. If you have Thai Baht cash already on you (which you need anyway to pay driver), then you can use a 1000-Baht note at the toll booth as a convenient way of getting smaller bills to pay the driver.
  7. while this film is not on there, I can also recommend www.filmdoo.com, which has lot's of non-mainstream films. This is the one and only site I was able to find the exceptional Cambodian film "The Last Reel", dealing with the Khmer Rouge past. A masterpiece about the abyss of inhumanity and tormented human souls that conditions such as those under the Khmer Rouge can bring about. This film left a lasting impression on me after first seeing it at the Luang Prabang Film Festival in 2015, and (among some others) got me hooked to that festival.
  8. money gram (just as Western Union) is a major rip-off. Not only do they charge rather high transfer fees, but also give very poor exchange rates, thus charging you twice with a hidden fee. good point, if it is recurring fees they may be prohibitive over time. As for Transferwise, I have now used them multiple times and they have markedly improved since about a year ago. A year ago, when transferring EUR to THB, they would NOT guarantee you the exchange rate, so you were still at risk of a market fluctuation by the time the money you send reaches them and they do the actual conversion. Of course, such market fluctuation will ALWAYS be against you, by virtue of Murphy's Law. I have done two simultaneous transfers a year ago using Transferwise with the apparently better fx-rate but higher stated up-front fee, as well as Transfermate with only EUR 15 flat fee (for ANY size amount) but additional cost embedded in the fx-rate spread. With Transfermate, the fx-rate is fixed as you do the transfer transaction on their website, so I knew exactly what I'd get (which is, or was, an advantage in and of itself). On Transferwise, the exchange rate was better than TM's at the time I did it, with a clearly stated fee, giving me a higher THB amount (forget by how much) than TM - BUT not guaranteed until actual conversion about a day later. Inevitably, exchange rate moved against me and in the end I got almost exactly the same THB amount on both. Now as I said TW has improved and guarantees the fx-rate I think for as long as 48 hours. With that they now beat TM every time I have compared them, so been using TW. I also like TW's concept of stating a %age up-front fee, which looks rather high compared to other sites, BUT giving the (normally by definition untradable) mid-market rate. Very clear indeed. Many (most?) other sites advertise very low fees, but then make their money (and your cost) through the fx-rate spread. One such example is Revolut, which a friend of mine is using (he also has their debit card, ostensibly fee-free). They have I believe no conversion "fees" (also none on foreign use of the debit card), but I calculated a 2% spread to mid-market on an example debit card transaction my friend showed me. So much for free.....
  9. Money transfers incur fees, too, though..... just saying....
  10. I'd fly Eva, too, if I could. Alas, they don't offer a non-stop service, or ANY service for that matter, to Germany from BKK. I don't do layover flights if at all possible. I did fly Eva to Europe (Vienna) and back a few months ago though, since I needed to change planes anyway to my final destination, so it didn't matter where I'd do so. I was very pleased with the product indeed.
  11. maybe I'll have to go back...
  12. another classic TiT LOL
  13. Why would it feel odd if not only nude pics, but pics of him in simulated gay sex action, fully erect, are out online for all to see (like the Bang-magazine shots)? I have some other nude pics of him, too, even fully erect (together with another guy), they're being circulated in various Line groups, along with gazillions of other sexy pics and clips. Though I doubt many, if any at all, in those groups know who he is, his name and his Moonlight affiliation, simply because they don't know anything about that bar or the gogo bar scene in general because they are mostly Thai-for-Thai groups. Some I even saw in a Singaporean Line group! Maybe I should put some in the model photos thread....
  14. hahahaha that's great and almost as expected - they come up with a rule and then nobody cares to implement/enforce it! Thanks for letting us know
  15. yes that's certainly true, and nobody disputes the necessity for doing SOMETHING. And the difference to the Ukraine is, there you COULD still fly over (AYOR), whereas in Pakistan you could not, so not only was it advisable to avoid that risky airspace, it was mandatory. SO that wasn't even a choice decision by Thai, but they had to. However, as you also pointed out, in an emergency a rerouting can certainly be done in-flight, so why they didn't do that remains the mystery of this thread. Maybe they THOUGHT it was economical? Though it is inconceivable to me that say an estimated 10% extra fuel cost is more expensive than taking care of say 300 passengers per plane for DAYS, putting them in Hotels, on other flights, providing food, plus organizational and logistical nightmares for the company. It just doesn't make sense. Seems like an ill-considered (if considered at all LOL) knee jerk reaction of Thai. Oh well. @reader ever so resourceful! Interesting stuff. We should look out for those planes next time one if us flies out of/into DMK (me early April). You're right they probably still sit there waiting for their prices to go down further and further with each passing day....
  16. such economic argument was also made somewhere else online, but that argument doesn't make sense, as the mess they created by the cancellations certainly cost more in money and manpower to handle I'm with z909 on that, why didn't they just fly around, with refuelling if necessary, causing just some delays but no cancellations (except for Pakistan-bound flights, obviously). Anyway, will presumably remain a mystery forever haha
  17. yes you can, like over any country but you have to get permission from that country. And now after the cancellation debacle Thai has asked and received permission to fly over China.
  18. I saw that film at the Luang Prabang Film Festival last December. The director was in attendance and she gave some interesting and illuminating additional insights
  19. yes and actually the customer's misfortune, too, as his evening was thoroughly ruined. However, I'm not sure what kind of compensation the customer was seeking from the bar and why. Refund of the off fee? Or damages for (hopefully and presumably minor, if any) injuries? Why and on what basis? I don't think doing so would cross my mind....
  20. Don't!!!! I didn't mean to "pcik apart" their website, I was getting interested based on your post (also coz the location is not far) and just couldn't help noticing these things. They are in no way meant in any negative way. Sometimes when I see such things I think I could help such people correct their mistakes (free of charge), would give me something useful to do haha. Again, don't feel bad, to the contrary, I'm considering to go and have a try, which - as has been said umpteen times on this board - is THE best way to find out about a place
  21. back to topic AEC Massage: just looked at their website and noticed a few things: 1. they claim to be "award winning" - how can that be the case if the shop is new lol? Maybe they just copied some dood-sounding text from somewhere haha 2. In that same statement, they claim to have guys from 10 ASEAN countries. Now that could be interesting and attractive.... *IF* true. 3. The "menu" page has the above statement and a list of some treatments as you'd expect. However, the very first one is absolutely hilarious, it is in German and makes no sense whatsoever, it can't even be a google translate issue. It says "Alfreds Futterkiste", which sounds more like the name of a pet food shop. 4. The "price" page states Minimum tip 299 baht. So get your small bills and coins ready haha. But joking aside, that's a rather odd minimum, isn't it? Kinda too high for a "normal" massage minimum (which is 100 at Prime) and too low for any extras, or is it? 5. The "Staff" page unfortunately doesn't have any staff pictures (except one). But from jason1975's I gather they post them on Line, so added them and will wait for posts....
  22. was thinking exactly that while there haha, and thinking in particular of you when looking at some of them
  23. I was at Moonlight for the first time last night, because I had friends from Europe visiting and they wanted to see a boyshow, but something a bit more upscale than the, well, seedy fucking shows (that's what one of the guys said, from memories LONG time ago). So I figured Moonlight would fit the bill. It did, though one guy found everything rather ridiculous, all those half naked dance moves, and the big cock show, and all.... Well, what to expect in a place like this I said LOL. Me personally, I thought the show was OK, though nothing outstanding. Not sure if we missed anything, coz we left after the shower show with Nicky. As for the boys & models: basically as expected, the models or most of them don't do it for me. Super beefy Tam? Not my type at all. Nicky, ob the other hand, looked and behaved like a really friendly, amicable and likeable guy. All smiles and friendly with the guests. One or two of the models didn't really have the model looks and body in my opinion. There was at least one, probably more regular boys better than that. One in particular had a VERY nice defined, muscular (but not overly so, which I don't like, see Tam comment) body with superb sixpack. Good looking too, and kept flirting with me lol. Bottom line: overall the regular boys looked pretty good, I would certainly be able to make my selection from them. Models, not my thing, Nicky the potential exception. Alas Babe was absent. Does he still work there and was just off that night?
  24. you are right, this was about 3 or 4 years ago, and it was the old card with no chip and hence no PIN required for purchases at shops. Actually I'm still using that type card because previously the new chip cards wouldn't work at other banks ATMs which hadn't switched to the new cards yet. I'll change the card some time soon. In fact, they are phasing them out by year end. Having said that, even a chip card with PIN sometimes (even a real credit card) sometimes works without the PIN at the merchants, possibly depending on what kind of card reader they are using, but I don't really know why that is
  25. not 100% true. I had my BKK Bank debit card stolen once (by a random trick picked up at a (straight) night club, not a money boy even). After he left in the morning and before I could even notice and report the stolen card he went straight to a large Tesco Lotus and bought something for about 45k Baht (presumably an iphone or two), just within the limit on the card of 50k. So yes, money in a debit card CAN be stolen. It is easy as nobody EVER checks your identity (which is not possible and pointless anyway as that card doesn't even bear a name on it) or looks at the signature when using it.
