I'm returning to Bangkpk next week for two weeks, interupted by three nights in Pattaya. It's been a year since I last enjoyed the heat and evening hour long showers. Sorry to have missed Vonapu on one of his irreguarly scheduled reguar visits. Happy to cross paths with other Forum members.

The fuel situation has had a noticeable impact on airfares. I've been traveling to Thailand since the mid 70s. That's not a typo. Threee years ago, I reduced from two or three visits a year to one. I just went to book for mid summer and disovered airfares from the US west coast had increased by 150%. So what last summer had been an economy fare of $880 USD is now priced at $2,178 USD.

He was there in early August, he was in front with some of the other "stars" encouraging folks to come in. When I was seated, to my surprise he came in and sat with me during his breaks from performing. When I went back toward the end of August, neither he nor Babe were on stage or in the house.

Is La the same fellow who was the "grabber" for Hot Male when it was on Soi Twilight? In August, I went to soi 4 expecting to say hello and couldn't find him. Then I was greeted by him when I went to Freshboys. Lots of history and faces in his memory bank.

I keep intending to post about my August visits to Bangkok but my intentions don't turn into actions. I'll make an attempt to do better. During my first week, I went with a Malaysian from Good Boys to Moonlight. We arrived 30 minutes before the show time to find all of the "stars" sabe Babe seated outside greeting the punters. I have no idea if this is new, only for that night, or a continuing practice. Babe was inside with his date (female). Turns out it was Babe's birthday. We were seated next them. Babe went backstage to prepe for the show. The mamsans and waiters went into overdrive to have the customers (maybe 20 of us) buy the 1000THB garlands. Babe recieved 4 as the birthday boy. I went back two weeks later and no garlands were purchased.

Day trip with a guide/driver worked well for me.

It’s been nearly a year since my last visit to Thailand and 30+ years since my first. The return planning has changed several times as I’d hoped to cross paths with Forum colleagues but schedules and commitments could not mesh. So I’ll go it alone suspecting path crossings will occur. Eva Air will drop me off on August 5th in the afternoon. Open to meet ups with Forum contributors. Reader has been generous with his time and given me some insightful tips on what’s changed as he winds down his current stay. Thanks.

Unlike my fellow responders, I fly from the west coast of Canada's southern neighbor. Once upon a time this was a direct route (translation: one stop same plane). Recently, my routing was San Francisco to Tokyo with a 5 hour layover and plane change to ANA or Thai to bring me in at 10PM or later. EVA reverses this with a midnight flight from SF, plane change and multiple hour layover in Taipei and arrival in late morning. These two flight plans arrived in less than 24 hours. Others were available but longer in the plane or transfer airport. United announced that in October it will be adding a route via Hong Kong with only a brief stop for a plane change. Flight from San Francisco will offer a link to Vietnam. I'm with TOTheCore on keeping my devaluating dollars for my Thailand activities. I've done the EVA business class (where the wine kept flowing) but couldn't balance the $200+ / per hour additional cost.

Total Agreement with Vinapu! Be upfront, the boys talk and probably have a chart of our likes and boy preferences. The boys consider us customers and if facilitating a hook up for us will also benefit them so it will be. Early on ifnmy traveling to Thailand, I thought I'd outsmarted my Hot Male guy with a guy from another bar. Next night my HM guy brought the other bar guy around for me to meet. They were room mates! We made a great threesome! Last September, my current regular from Good Guys facilitated a meet up / over night with a guy from Fresh Boys who he's noticed I was eyeing while we were at the Fresh Boys show. Does money change hands? Could happen, probably points of some sort are traded. Works for me as I don't assume my boy is "my boy" and I'm direct about what I'm seeing/wanting/needing/etc. "My boy" is central to my visit and a bonus extra pair of eyes willing to negotiate for himself and me.

Once upon pre-Covid times fee was 5K plus 1K Moonight off fee. Charming in private but limits on serious action. Viewing and touching permitted.
