Sometimes rip off is still blessing, once I was leaving BBB Inn for early morning departure in dead of the night during storm with lightnings and really heavy rain . Thankfully taxi appeared almost immediately and he quoted 600 which is twice the meter. I was sooooo happy to be skinned alive as walking from door to the curb was enough to get completely soaked. I thought , blessed are extortionists because they appear when needed. If he quoted 1000 I'd pay then and would be still smiling now

Welcome to the forum, Stay in Silom/Suriwong area to be close to bars and massages, pick up hotel you fancy on any booking site / agoda , booking.com etc / your choice depends on your budges but keep in mind Bangkok hotels are extremely good value for money. Sexy boys and good food is everywhere. make sure you visit Tawan and Jupiter bars and have a massage at Arena and Senso, all walking distance from each other. Do your homework and read some trip reports on the forum including most recent by numazu and ggobkk . Don't plan too much, just go, take half things and twice as much money Make sure you have fun

Thank you but I wouldn't be that progressive , I report what I like and sometimes what I don't but this doesn't mean others will feel the same way Always glad when somebody tries what I recommend and is happy but wouldn't take any offence if he reports it did not work expected way. From time to time I get PM's stating that boy was not up to my accolades or , like just recently , that both Oasis and her Chicken with Cashews Nuts weren't as tasty as I seem to praise and it's pretty normal. I love motorcy taxis and use them often. Being grey haired probably helps since I can't recall ride I'd consider truly hair rising. As z909 pointed out , one of advantages is opportunity to hold tight, few times I even had drivers smiling knowingly.

can I point out that Christmas Eve ( see 'Christmas Yangoon Eve ' post ) is day before Christmas , and Christmas is Dec 25 so only vague thing is an actual year but from other numazu's reports we can safely assume it was last year. Hope it helped

Christian, knowing your taste a bit I think you'd classify most if not all of Jupiter boys as too fat. Next time we are in BKK at the same time I will try to drag you in there - you have it in writing ! justifiable does not equal acceptable and this depends on what's on an offer. My experience at Dreamboys runs from awe when I considered all on display as offable ( to be exact with one exception, but he was offed on my eyes right away ) to utter disappointment when I couldn't see anybody to give him my customary 100 baht departing tip. One of my best boys ever , Yo was from there and my worst by far was from there as well. All cases recorded here in my trip reports. So for my eyes there's not much consistency but creating plenty of curiosity making bar still worthwhile to visit and , sigh, to pay up
