bkkmfj2648 reacted to BjornAgain in London's Heathrow Airport Closed
Just found out, the backup generators were diesel based, so were resently replaced with biomass generators and a brand new auto-switching solution so that Heathrow could move towards their Net-Zero target. They failed, hence the black out.
Sometimes the old and well trusted solutions work best, despite a bit of black smoke.

bkkmfj2648 reacted to vinapu in Exercises in celibacy - trip to Thailand and Vietnam in Jan 2025
Day 21
So finally taste of Phu Quoc biggest , most famous and costly attraction – longest cable car over sea.
Round trip costs 700 000 dong ( 1 dong = 25000USD ), if you opt for buffet lunch it is even
1 000 000 ( one million = 25 USD) Even if numbers are making impression it is very good value for the money as ticket included free admission to amusement / water park at other terminal.
While getting to northern tip of island with fake Venice is easy thanks to the free bus, there’s no such service to the southern tip where cable car starts, There’s infrequent bus # 19 but it terminates at different southern location we were told.
Some hotels are offering free shuttle to those who bought ticket or tour through their desks but we decided not to bother looking for those and after breakfast walked to main road and it did not take long before guy asked us where we are going and miraculously it happened he has a car and can take us there for 250 000 = 10 USD.
Soon we were on the way. He advised us to buy ticket with lunch and we stopped in some shop on the road to buy that as he claimed we can avoid lining up at station.
There was no line up but price was the same so no harm done. Island station looks like Roman ruin in middle of skillfully recreated Italian city. I must say it’s quite well done indeed.
Whole exited we boarded car for 18 minutes trip over the sea.
Views were spectacular although my friend , as is his habit almost immediately created international scandal telling group of Orientals ‘ you must be from China “. They were Korean and judging by their facial expression if that was done on firm land my friend would be beaten to the pulp, to my applause I haste to say.
We arrived an set to have waterpark fun with me from time to time telling mu friend that I saw that Korean sharpening knife on the stone around the corner.
They have one of longest wooden rollercoasters in the world so we took a ride and repeated it after lunch ( just me that one as it was too much for my friend), soaked in multiple tube rides and slides and generally liked every minute of it.
Lunch part was less exiting as it was in enormous and crowded hall with long line ups and food was so, so , at least whet we sampled. Contrary to what we were told there were other eating options so next time surely I will skip that part as elbowing for table space is less entertaining than listening to the sound of that sharpened knife and other attractions.
After better part of day spent there we went back the same way and returned to main island to walk that piece of Italy in Asia. Again it was quite empty, many buildings are visibly unoccupied but that’s not my problem. I liked what I saw to a great degree.
Going back it took us a while to find car or rather again car found us as guy seeing two seniors , one smart and other stupid, figured out that they may need a ride and offered that option.
In short very nicely spent day and recommended to everybody. Just don’t tell Koreans they look Chinese, neither ask Israelis if they are from Kairo or Doha.

Not always a good idea. I have heard this story from Vietnam: A young son back from the US launched a new business, partly funded by his parents. The business did well and expanded, and he hired a cousin to manage one of his new branches. The cousin began to misappropriate some money every month, but not so much that it would sink the business. Nonetheless, it was intolerable for the young entrepreneur, who obviously wanted to fire the cousin. However, his parents persuaded him to keep the cousin on, because firing that guy would cause a rift in the family. So, for months (years?) the cousin had free rein to the till.
As often happens in such cases, he took more and more, but still the parents were against firing him. Finally, the cousin's mother died andwith that, the question of family rift became moot (I think the cousin's mother was the sister of the entrepreneur's mother) and so the cousin was sacked. By then however, he must have taken a lot of money.
The expiry date is clearly printed on the Sidegra box. Easily checked before purchase even if buying from a small pharmacy.

After years of being on this forum - membership being surely one of the pleasures of life - I reckon there are four "desires" among those of us looking for paid hookups.
1. A simulacrum of romance (possibly leading to a real relationship);
2. Quickie sex;
3. Quickie sex Latin American style, otherwise known as being pounded to injury by donkey dongs;
4. Massage with erotic finish.
If (1) is not a priority, longtime might not make any sense. Personally, (4) is my top priority followed by (2), so I don't miss not doing longtime.

That's my interpretation too, but nowadays, that's purely theoretical. I don't do long time anymore. I don't sleep well with a stranger in my bed and past a certain age, the self- inflicted expectation to have to cum again in the morning, a mere 6-7 hours after the last "episode", is more like a chore.

Chemistry is difficult to predict. But glad you got what you wanted.
Even though I won't spend 10k on any guy for one night, I do end up spending 10k in one night when I off several guys and take them to karaoke or play pool. And there's also nights when I order a bottle of whisky in bar and give tips generously including garlands. They easily add up to 10k.

I'm glad you found guy you are happy with.
I remember days you were salivating over Boss but it looks somehow you got over it and found better object of adoration.
Yes , I was expected that my (over)tip will create some reaction as nothing excites us more than other's money , but no, it went unnoticed. Either fame of me me being guy which swears in 7 languages spread and did the silencing job or , most probably, my trip report being long and boring made most stopping reading and did not go that far.
Bkkmfj explained it perfectly in other post. After Jey Spa guy offered all night fun for 10000 and after much deliberation I decided to skip that option and to this day I'm not sure I did right thing, this time I decided to get the guy I pursued for a good while at whatever cost will be . He looks great and I got great feedback from trusted forum friend and I'm happy I did . My mind is at ease now. Was it worth? for ease of mind, definitely yes. For experience I'd say yes as well. I got everything I expected. Will I repeat ? not sure. While everything worked , I think bit chemistry was missing.
Will I pay again that much ? If I have money AND see the guy warranting it, answer is yes.
But generally 5000 is max I'm willing to fork out for long time and truth to be told I know quite a few excellent guys who don't even expect that much.

As a follow up - we went to the M2M 10:30pm cabaret show last night, Friday 21 March 2025. This is our first return to M2M AFTER the new Candy Bar has been opened. We wanted to see:
With the transfer of a couple of key stars from M2M over to the Candy Bar if it would be noticeable?, What is the crowd size - in light of there now being 3 different cabaret show bars in the Jomtien Complex (aka Supertown)? What we noticed is that the remaining M2M performers had to pick up the slack - meaning that they had to perform more numbers during the 90 minute show. What is the impact? Less variety of performers - BUT - the existing team did an excellent job last night and I/we could not notice any degradation in the show performance.
The crowd size was at around 75% to 80% full. So, not a substantial loss of customers due to the arrival of the Candy Bar competition. Prior to the Candy Bar opening, there were many nights where M2M was only 80% full. Perhaps the noticeable difference is that we were able to reserve 5 seats when we stopped by M2M at 8pm on the same day of the performance. In the past, this was not always possible. But, we are now in the low season - so I am not sure if it was easy for us to obtain 5 seats because of the competition of the Candy Bar and/or because it is now low season??
The main noticeable differences between the 2 venues are:
both shows start at 10:30pm - but the Candy Bar cabaret show has I believe a 10 to 15 minute intermission, whereas, M2M does not - so you get uninterrupted 90 minutes of entertainment, the Candy Bar space is bigger and newer, and the M2M space is smaller, but more intimate with the performers, the Candy Bar program varies depending on the day of the week with shows ONLY on Wednesdays (Fun and Games Night), Thursdays (Perfect Pop), Fridays (Burlesque), Saturdays (Classic Camp), and Sundays (Icons, Anthems, & Divas). They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. M2M offers a show 7 nights each week - where they tend to be a repeat of the previous days show - BUT - they often announce special themed nights in advance via their social media outlets (FB, Instagram, GaySupertown Twitter feed, etcetra). At this juncture, I still cannot say who is number one. Previous to the arrival of the new Candy Bar, M2M has always been my favorite (when it was compared to The Venue cabaret venue - which was the only alternative in the complex). But, I am starting to like the new Candy Bar more and more. Perhaps, there does not need to be a Number ONE - and that both can be Number ONE.
Anyone here have an opinion ?
The great Freddie Mercury impersonator performed in last night's M2M performance, and he is one of my favorites, and one of my Thai boyfriend's BEST friends, who was with us last night and it was his first time to visit the M2M, he was mesmerized by Freddie - and it was great to watch their interaction.

It is true, as @daydreamer says, that you can get Sidegra for 180 baht per box of 4 tabs x 100mg at Chula MD, but I prefer to purchase from the shop next door whose Thai signboard looks like "ennuv" to me. It's visible in the photo above.
I think "ennuv" charges more though, but not by much. What I didn't quite like about Chula MD on my one and only visit were 2 things: it was very busy with a lot of thai customers and secondly, a rather bureaucratic process. Their counters have a queue system. You have to take a numbered ticket. Then payment has to be made at a separate counter. Can't remember exactly but I think I had to go to a third counter to pick up the purchase.
At the smaller ennuv shop, you're likely to be the only customer and you get the full attention of whoever is serving you. You're not sent here and there.

bkkmfj2648 reacted to PeterRS in GAY ICONS 5: MAD DOGS AND A RIGHT ROYAL SCANDAL
In a 1999 article marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Noël Coward, TIME magazine noted that “no other 20th century figure approached Coward’s creative breadth: playwright, actor, composer, lyricist, novelist, stage director, film producer, Vegas ‘entertainer’”. Audiences adored Coward’s plays, his stage musicals, his wit and his often-cutting repartee. Between the two World Wars, Coward dominated the theatrical profession on both sides of the Atlantic as no one else has done before or since. As TIME added, he did so with “a combination of cheek and chic, pose and poise.”
Some of his plays have stood the test of time, but few are programmed today. Perhaps he is now best known for just one song: “Mad Dogs and Englishmen go out in the Midday Sun.” First performed in New York in 1931, according to his biographer Sheridan Morley he wrote it whilst driving from Hanoi to Saigon “without pen, paper or piano!”
Yet behind his assured, high society mask, for much of his life Coward was a deeply unhappy man. It is now well-known that Coward was gay although he never admitted this during his life. It might upset the county set of middle aged, dyed-in-the-wool ladies who came in bus-droves to attend the mid-week matinees of his plays, was his regular excuse. Hailing from a very middle-class background, he was born in the suburbs of London.Aged 14 he became the protégé and almost certainly the lover of a society painter, Philip Streatfield. Although Streatfield was to die a year later, Coward had by then been introduced widely into the high society of the times and quickly adopted its accent and its manners.
Entering his teens, Coward had started work as a child actor. He had always been interested in the theatre and by age 20 he was writing his own plays. Soon he was to be a huge success in virtually all areas of society entertainment. It was at a performance of his musical revue “London Calling” that he met one of his early lovers. Prince George, Duke of Kent, was the fourth son of Britain’s King George V (and thus to become brother to two Kings). They began a clandestine affair. During the Roaring Twenties, the scandals surrounding the very bisexual, drug-taking Prince George were legendary. Even after his marriage, one commentator at the time noted, “He is not safe in a taxi with either sex.” The British Security Service once reported that George and Coward had been seen cavorting through the streets of London “dressed and made up as women!” Their on-going relationship was to last for two decades. Only death parted George from “dearest, darling Noël”. In 1942 George was killed in an air crash in Scotland. Coward wrote in his diary, “The thought that I shall never see him again is terribly painful.”
Prince George, The Duke of Kent
In public Coward was a master of the one-line quip, often cutting and always trotted out spontaneously. One evening walking across London’s Leicester Square, a friend drew his attention to the huge advertising hoarding above the Odeon Cinema –
Michael Redgrave and Dirk Bogarde
in
The Sea Shall Not Have Them
Bemused, Coward turned to his friend and exclaimed, “I can’t think why ever not, dear boy. Everyone else has!” In the movie business, Redgrave was known to be bisexual and Bogarde homosexual, although neither came out during their lives.
In another famous Coward quip. he was standing on a balcony overlooking the procession of carriages passing en route to the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Beside him was his young nephew. In one carriage was a monstrously overweight woman. Noël’s nephew was curious.
“Uncle Noël! Who is in that carriage?”
“That, dear boy, is Queen Sālote of Tonga.”
Pointing to her tiny slim Prime Minster sitting opposite, the nephew was equally curious.
“And who is the little man with her?”
“That, dear boy, is her lunch!”
Given his enormous success in the years between the World Wars and the patriotic film he wrote as part of the national war effort “In Which We Serve”, it was assumed that Coward would be awarded a knighthood. He was not. Prime Minister Churchill and other top members of the government were aware of the relationship with Prince George and were anxious that it be totally covered up, to the extent that George’s letters to Coward were stolen from his London home – with Churchill’s approval. Apart from the scandal if the public were to hear of the affair, homosexual relations between two men were still strictly illegal, and would remain so in England until 1967. Coward would finally be given a knighthood in 1970. Perhaps somewhat extraordinarily, George’s sister-in-law, the mother of Queen Elizabeth II, remained a lifelong friend.
After the war, Coward started a relationship with a young actor, Graham Payne, who was to remain with him for the rest of his life. Soon Coward and Payne took a long lease on a house in Jamaica named Goldeneye, owned by Ian Fleming the creator of the James Bond novels. Later they built their own house on the island and it was here that Coward died in 1973. Thereafter Payne was frequently questioned about the relationship with Prince George. He refused to confirm any had taken place. Indeed Coward had never openly revealed his sexuality.
Ian Fleming's Goldeneye in Jamaica rented by Coward
Coward’s contribution to his country is marked by a memorial stone in Poet’s Corner in Westminster Abbey and the re-naming in 2006 of one of London’s theatres as the Noël Coward Theatre.

bkkmfj2648 got a reaction from khaolakguy in Asian Cup Beach Soccer Kicks Off at Jomtien Beach Arena
so, today during the day I did a walk-by of this enormous AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup venue.
https://www.the-afc.com/en/national/afc_beach_soccer_asian_cup.html/news/teams-learn-thailand-2025-challengers
I was made to be more curious because my Thai boyfriend told me that until this AFC soccer event is finished (it runs from today 20 March through 30 March 2025) that they won't be able to go to the Jomtien soi 12 to unwind, hang out with friends and drink, and to play volleyball because the footprint of this venue encroaches on their fun party area. Furthermore, it is now under 24hour surveillance due to its important international following.
And sure enough when I walked by today, it took me 12 individual photos to encompass the full grounds of this venue - warm up area, VIP seating area, stadium, main entrance, bathrooms, etc. Furthermore, when I was there this afternoon a group of sexy masculine Arab looking guys were disembarking from a chartered bus --> the Thai Immigration, Thai Tourist Police, and normal Thai Police, etc. were all busy surrounding the bus so that the soccer players could be shown to their venue entrance. I would imagine after the recent Uyghur fiasco - that Thailand cannot afford any bad international incidents from occurring - hence all of the extra security.
As I am not good at individuating one type of Arab from another - I would presume from the above match schedule that they were either Iraqi, Kuwati, Lebanese, or Saudi Arabian.
My Thai boyfriend told me that they will now need to play over at the gay Dongtan volleyball fields - which usually by 10pm are vacated - so, will they come back to life after the gay bars close at 2am ? Will the volleyball field lights be left on ?

Despite being under new ownership & management, Hotmale hasn't launched any marketing campaign as far as I can see. They might not even have thought to take over the login credentials to their Facebook page and other social media, because the last post on Facebook was in January before the sale.
They are still operating the same business model as before, and somehow hoping that business will turn around by itself.
There is one notable change, however, and it is that the long red pants are gone. The boys now wear white, short shorts and sneakers. All barebodied unlike before when many had singlets in addition to the red pants. There's been some refreshing of the show, but it's not much of a stand-out.
Hotmale's boys (on average) have always been a bit better looking than Fresh Boy or Dream Boy, in my experience, and this remains the case.

Dragon and Koi is unique: no other bar offers the same combination of entertainment and host opportunities. The dancers are all very friendly and willing to get up close in personal while sitting with customers in booths. But that comes with expected cost.
It’s still possible, however, to sit at bar, order a beer or soft drink, and enjoy the same show at very reasonable cost. You’ll be approached by dancers between sets and offered company but no need to accept.
Since dancers are central to the bar’s special concept, it’s reasonable that management can’t allow performers to be offed. Whether this practice stands the test of time remains to be seen.
To date, one dancer I’m aware of moved over to Freshboy for offing opportunities and appears to be doing quite well in that environment.

bkkmfj2648 reacted to PeterRS in Bhutan - The Forgotten Country
I agree entirely with @fedssocr's comments. Bhutan was not the idyllic paradise that GNH indicated and portrayed to the world. I do think we have to bear in mind, though, that it must have been a hugely difficult country to administer - if only because of its massively hilly terrain. To get from Punakha to Bumthang, the furthest east on my visit, was a journey of nearly 14 hours over 2 mountain passes. Yet the actual distance is only 217 kms! I understand there is now a direct road taking well under 4 hours. I also think the previous King has to be given credit for all but forcing democracy on the people, hardly any of whom wanted it! As he had told my friend, he felt democracy was the only way forward for his country, citing the example of neighbouring Sikkim which was gobbled up by India after rioting in the 1970s.
One thing disappointed me on that long trip. Due to the length pf that very long journey, I stupidly avoided a quick side trip to the Phobjhika Valley. This is where the rare black-necked cranes come to winter. I know from others they are a splendid and awe-inspiring sight.

The unit is not new and some parts need repairing but it's habitable and has all the necessary elements for domestic bliss.
I can't cook so I just do the laundry. Washing your guy's underwear is as intimate you can get to him without physical contact.

@vinapu I know you are keen to know about my sexcapades in Bangkok but nothing much happened because of amazing bonding trip to Pattaya with my guy. I continued seeing him after we came back to Bangkok.
I only visited one bar in Bangkok and it was Freshboys (twice - before and after Pattaya) to off my guy and accompany forum member to watch the show.
I did have two sexy massages at Adam's in Soi 4 and Phoenix in Saphan Kwai. I visited Midnight (still getting used to calling the new name instead of Hotmale Beer Bar downstairs) and did some catching up with the waiters.
There were a lot of "wholesome" activities.
- visit to Mahanakhon (my guy was curious about tall buildings with 360 degrees view after visiting Pattaya Tower. He said all his friends had gone there with their customers but he didn't have any customer who offered to take him there.)
- karaoke and supper at private karaoke room at the back of Happy Beer Garden
- my guy cooking breakfast for me since there was a full kitchen in Silom Lofts apartment (I showed him Tiktok video of English breakfast and we went to Foodland supermarket to buy ingredients)
- playing pool at Z'Spanky lady pool bar near Foodland Patpong (I invited other Vietnamese guys who played pool and we had informal mini competition)
- meeting fortune teller lady who told our fortune using tarot cards (she said that I had been with my guy for a long time)
- visiting two lady gogo bars in Soi Cowboy (he had never gone there before and it was his first time seeing so many topless women)
- playing chess whenever we could (either in apartment or at Foodland Patpong during dinner. The staff recognise us and know our orders)
Since a picture tells a thousand words, here are some.

It's probably because when he needs to sleep, I leave him in the bedroom and I go to living room.
There are two doors to the bathroom - from the living room and from the bedroom.
The apartment is a hybrid of hotel and condo. There's reception for checking in and out. There's also daily housekeeping.
