I also think that responsible sex tourism in a country like Thailand serves a social purpose. Massage can be a conspicuous example because there is nothing basically immoral, illegal with it. Things are different here Reader, and I'm sure as a reader you will realize it. Books in a bookstore have identifiable authors, publishers who can be held accountable for what they write. This is one reason they call a book about fantasies a fiction. And, as you say, you have the freedom to select fiction or non fiction. Here we are anonymous and we recognize and (at least implicitly) accept the lack of proper verification. Reader, I don't see why you should feel sad. The world is full of uncertainty over reality vs. fiction. Why should it be different here? How can I know who and what you are, if I were interested? It seems that when we visit Pattaya we should forget about sunbathing on the pristine beach and swimming in crystal clear water, instead having to resign ourselves to visit the go go bars, massage places and eventually the one sauna.

I walked from Babylon to Lumpini, took the MTR to Asok, then the Klan boat to the University pier (before the boats closed), then walked north-west to Farose 2. When I left the sauna around 11PM I walked back south-east to Ramkhamhaeng, took a bus to the airport line train, rode it one station to the MRT, took it back to Lumpini and happily walked back to Babylon. I get a kick out of being such an oddball making this complicated route, but I enjoy savoring the local environment instead of being a pampered tourist. Of course in my next visit I will stay into the early morning and return by taxi, or if I am in the mood I stay there and sleep (I can sleep anywhere) until normal transportation resumes.

I'm amazed how much I identify with what you write. As a child I was always scared in ball games, and I still feel nervous when a ball comes my way and I have to do something with it. On the other hand I have thrived in individual, non-competitive exercising and have gone to the gym since young adult. Result: I still fit into the clothes from 30 years ago, while my former peers who won all those ball games... I won't speak about them.

If he has to go through 8000 friends to have the probability to meet ONE sexual partner, he may end up with one or two sexual partners in his life (for some religious people this is enough...) I see your dilemma. Any person you meet in the hot gay scene in BKK will not easily give up that lifestyle. You would have to offer much attraction to have a serious relationship, and it would be difficult to know if your partner is interested in you or in what material things you offer him. In my modest experience, older guys don't have less desires to cruise for sex than younger do, and monogamy is not a trait acquired by age alone.

LOL! For me 35 y.o. Thai boys and Asians in general can fall under the "young" ones, if they take care of themselves. My suggestion for "older" is naturally Babylon, and I know this well since I stay at their barracks when I am in BKK. You may like this too. On their events like foam parties the place is full of 35 y.o. and older Asians.

I had a similar experience the one time I went to Farose 2. I wonder why the place is not kept in better shape since it seems to have potential, but it is what it is. Attendants were friendly, and so were two twinks I joined. But I left too early before midnight because I don't like to have to depend on taxis. Only if your main purpose to travel is sex. You can be a sex tourist without paying for sex. You can be a tourist for other reasons and still have sex, paid or free.

It rather means "sex commercialization". A sex tourist like me visits a country with abundant people one likes to enjoy plenty of sex even with little money involved.
