    Day 3

I noticed that with age I take those long flights better and better but at price of jet lag killing me more and more. Today is day 3 and after two quite intensive days and nights I start feeling like energy is leaving me.

On top of it problems starting with my tablet, not that I can’t live without an access to internet but sometimes Nantra’s lobby where public consumption  computers are located  is full of people waiting for something and it does not created good environment to open page of our forum with all those semi-naked beauties. I even created thread looking for help with that tablet problem  and using this occasion I sent big THANK YOU to all who responded.

After few days I identified problem – when leaving room I was leaving tablet plugged in. Upon removing key card from the slot power is cut off from the room. On return , when I place card back in the slot power returns but at the same time small surge created overheating inside of tablet and until it was unplugged and cooled down I couldn’t start it. When I made sure I unplug charger before leaving room problem was gone and tablet worked normal way. So much for a technology for you I guess.

In order not to waste whole day dozing,  I took BTS to National Stadium , then walked to Saen Saep Khlong (canal )and took boat to a Talat / market / Bobae. For some reason I like wandering there and visit it every trip.

What is new in the khlong   is tourist boat which goes as far as Bangalampu as an addition to  regular commuter service  terminating near Golden Mount temple.  I just noticed it but did not use tourist one yet. If you are interested visit Christian PFC blog at
    https://christianpfc.blogspot.ca/2017/09/saen-saep-canal-tourist-boat.html
where you find more detailed information.

Did not buy anything in the market and after hour or two returned , stopping at MBK for a lunch.

Full stomach and untreated jet lag made me so sleepy that I barely managed to take those 3 stations to Silom , went to hotel  and there went to bed hoping that after 1-2 hours of sleep I regain consciousness and be ready to see ChristianPFC  who was supposed to drop by at 6. It was already dark when knocking to  a door  woke me up and immediately I thought it must be him.

Yes he was but time was already 7 p.m.  Of course he was here at 6 , knocked to a door , since was no answer went to reception , asked them to call me and because it was still no answer he decided to try one more in 1 hour . It shows how deep in sleep I was. No kidding with sleep deprivation.

We decided to have a dinner in some Japanese restaurant on Silom , 2 servings of gyozas fill me in, Christian had some other treat and we decided to do some bar hopping as usual , this time we started with Screwboys.  Mamasan recognized me , she always does . It remnants of Dec 2014 trip when I offed 6 times Lao  boy named One from there , perhaps best off I was dealing with ever. Well built , well behaved, patient and never asking for anything, still after all those years I miss him and every trip ask mamas an if by a chance he did not return to his duties to no avail.

We had our drinks , I distributed some tips but none of us was in offing mode so we decided to make a hop to Fresh Boys to see human resources there. In December I had great fun with two boys I took from there and on entry one of them recognized me immediately while it took good  15 minutes before another one sent big smile in my direction as well. We watched the show, here they have SPECIAL Show as well with one of my boys performing top position.

Again few tips and then as agreed previously we went to Jupiter 2018 where I expected Oud to be available for an off as agreed on day 1 but he was nowhere to be seen.
As it turned out week later , he was in airport kissing good bye to his motorcycle throwing Chinese lady. Show was almost over when we arrived, Christian did not stay long but I decided to kill some time there to watch the boys and listen  to some oldies from lip-synching by some girl on the stage. Actually I had a good time and was in no rush to leave but when bar started to empty around 1 I took off with everybody else.  On my way home detoured to BBB Inn to see if my favorite masseur Tao is still working there, he was and actually still wet after shower he freshly took. Promised him to see him next week but I was in no mood for a massage nor off with lag still lingering in my body .

On Suriwong I saw some Tawan boys going home , in front of 7/11 ion the corner of soi 6 some others  including my last night off Boon and #6 I started to salivate about were having a beer.  Both boys even made motion showing desire to walk with me to a hotel but today is historical day, first time ever in my 16 trips to Thailand I did not have neither massage nor off any boy. Not as much tired as scared by that  oversleep incident I decided to have good night sleep alone to avoid any disturbances  hoping to bring my body to a balance after 4 sleepless nights including one of departure and one lost on the plane due to time difference.

I always chastise members who are reporting going to bed alone for wasting their vacation time so now is your turn to get back at me. It was good move still for two reasons, first to get my sleeping pattern adjusted to normal , second to balance budget after 2 LT at 4000 it saved me 1000 compared to my usual 3000 / night pattern.
See how prudent am I ?
And this is how day 3 was over.

relax , it's only day 2 out of 14. By time I will be done most likely hardly anyone will be reading those reports  out of boredom and to avoid getting upset with my  tipping practice
Will post day 3 later today and try to post 1 day at a time.

I have my type of boys I like but when there I don't resort to visiting only places where 'my' boys can be found if only out of curiosity what 'other' side likes.

As for those impressions, keep in mind  you may get what you wish for and not necessarily like it and if you don't please  have mercy on me. Thank you for reading as if even one person finds those reports  useful /enjoyable work is not in vain.

    Day 2

Boy decided to skip breakfast so I did my customary trek to Foodland Patpong alone and it was in vain –place was packed with no empty table , my first. I decided to return to the hotel where some simple breakfast / tea , coffee, toast , cereals, juice, fruit / breakfast is offered, had a bite or two and returned to the room where feeling results of quite busy night and uncured jet lag I fell asleep.

Sometime later knock to the door wake me up –it was cleaning lady wanting to tidy room a bit. She did it tactfully while I stay in the bed . At 2 p.m. I went to Foodland again , you guessed rightly , to finally have some breakfast. Go imagine 2.p.m.  ! I did not forget that Phet is returning at 4 so not much time left , did some walk around Silom, went to post office  to mail something  and parked myself in Nantra’s lobby at one of their computers to catch up with technology and to spare him an embarrassment of being stopped although at Nantra it’s highly unlikely.

It was 4 p.m. on the dot  when he appeared, so much for unreliable Thai boys. Again very entertaining few hours with all that boyfriend feeling he so skillfully managed to project. At one point and I’m kidding you not  I had that impression crossing my mind that it would be worthwhile to spent all those 18 hours in the plane and another 18 on return trip just to  live again those several hours of yesterday , last night and today.

Since all those exercises made us hungry and he needs to go to the bar we decided to have a dinner together , he suggested Telephone in soi 4 and off we went. I liked their ‘quiet’ room on 2nd floor and we had pleasant meal there. In the corner was another farang with his boy speaking an excellent English from shreds of conversation I managed to overhear.

Phet went his way and I walked to soi Twilight for another meeting with Paulsf and boys in Hot Male beer bar , one of them  Alex ,  Burmese buy I found quite attractive and good looking. Good and fun filled few hours.

At 10.30 I went to Tawan to see the show. As yesterday few new boys ,show more or less similar to what was before with one big improvement  - special show is back with participants circulating tip fishing among us voyeurs so I parted with two red notes on that occasion. In meantime I’m being seriously cruised by #48 Boonthon, one of the steely muscles  but not beefy one. I had already pleasure to meet him last year  and with Phet , my last night stand and dinner companion nowhere to be seen , it did not take much of thinking  to engage #48 services for LT tonight.

Usual tip negotiation mirrored exactly one of yesterday  so again few  cases of blood pressure rises hearing that , my apologies to you guys who think I’m making it hard for others but paying inflationary tips  I can’t mistreat serious bodybuilder competition contender and can only hope for the best.

In meantime I’m keeping my eye on # 6 Dum , I noticed him in Dec during my sole visit to Tawan.
Nicely built , looks like half black with full kissable lips and I made promise to myself to give him a chance to earn some serious money in future, LOL.

Off we went , #48 and me , straight to the room and while tip mirrored last night’s so did boy’s performance. It looks I’m undergoing serious  boyfriend like treatment second night in row. And some think there’s no use of straight boys , can’t disagree more.

In the morning instead of usual walk  to Foodland for a breakfast we went by his motorbike. After breakfast we went to a store as he wanted to  buy a chocolate  for his baby but I chipped in with another two bars, after all I paid him enough so he can afford baby’s dental bill. And so day 2 finished with continuous feeling I’m somewhere in heaven.

    Day 1
This trip, the 16th I decided to take in supposedly low, rainy season. Assured by few members that as long as I have my umbrella I will be ok and bars are still full of boys I landed this Sunday morning excited as always and curious how it will work as all my trips so far were either May / Jun or Nov / Dec.

Hot but bearable and skies hazy but still sunny , nothing like rainy season at 10 in the morning.  Immigration was breezy, no more than 10 minutes to clear and luggage arrived promptly as I approached  the conveyor.

Exchanged some money in the last booth on the train station and was pleasantly surprised by the low spread between airport rate of 31.19 and as it turned out later , then best street rate of 33.02 / USD. Last December airport paid 30 while street rates were around 34-35 if I recall.

While watching scenery from the train I noticed that new king is slowly taking space of his father and first sizable portrait of old king I saw past Hua Mak which is 3rd station. Much less black dressed commuters as well, still plenty but it seems city slowly regained it’s color.

Check in in Nantra Silom fast and staff even smiling and explaining breakfast routine. With still sunny skies I went to do my  Lumpini stroll and after circling park it started drizzling so I sped a bit toward Patpong . By time I got there skies were opened and it was REALLY raining but I was well positioned already so hid myself in Madrid Tavern on Patpong 1 , ordered pizza and while they baked it for me went outside to watch then deluge.

By time I finished my meal rain suddenly stopped . Went back to then room, changed shirt to dry one and went for a short stroll to Arena, my usual place to start my Thai adventures. HIS , now defunct for perhaps 10 years in the same plaza was my first massage place ever in Thailand hence my habit of starting it all at Arena.

As soon as I opened door few familiar faces appeared among them my favorite Dit with 13 meetings already and I guess none of us both had a doubt that meeting number 14 will start in few minutes    but not before I will have a beer in the lobby with few boys I hired previously including mamas an Art who is not a bad at massage as well. Of course few red notes changed hands as well and all were happy including me, the distributor.

Customary 1.5 hr session, fun as always, 1600 for then house including several  beers and 1500 tip and I’m firmly placed in the paradise. Massage relaxed me a bit but jet lag started kicking in so short nap in the room and a stroll past Tawan to soi Twilight hoping to see Paulsf on his throne in the HotMale beer bar, he was not there but arrived shortly and for next hour or so we were catching with news.

Show time at XBoys so we went, few tips distributed among needy but handsome but I was itching for something else so around 10.30 I left. Something else was of course Jupiter 2018 in soi 4 , new bar for me.

Drinks 280 are paid outside , you get a chit immediately collected at the door and when inside drink arrives. House was packed for the show already in the making.   I like layout with catwalk but show seemed similar to what I recall from the old place and boys , while very handsome are still holding their sober unsmiling looks so one never knows if they are interested or know.

Not all lost though thanks to those two Tawan implants Mekhin and Oud , another of my favorites with 8 offs already but today busy sitting in company of older Chinese lady and few other boys.
Lots of  ladies inside and as in old place almost whole audience Asians.

Mekhin passing by perhaps recognized me as I offed him in December and shook my hand , soon after Oud noticed I’m here , excused his lady and came for a hug and to share his good fortune.
Pulled on his phone a picture of shiny motorcycle , not a motorbike mind you , said lady  bought for him. So where I stand with my ‘lavish” 3000 baht tip for long time ?

Not in  a good position I thought but I learned that on Tue lady is going home and Oud will be free  so we made preliminary reunion arrangements .

In meantime show was on with Chinese throwing tips right , left and center , two Chinese ladies lavished 1000 baht notes on two boys , one of them ‘my ‘ Oud who certainly is on the roll after moving from Tawan there. All in all I did not notice much  a difference between old and new location and a bit put off but that distinctive lack of smile from the boys.

But it needs to be said they all are prime model material although best looking of them , muscly Tan #60 was nowhere to be seen since he did not move with the bar apparently working at Dreramboys now.

Oud stopped two more times to ensure me that Tuesday belongs to me , what I found as nice that his lady obviously did not mind him sitting with me for a few minutes  then and now. Oh well , I always had fun with him so perhaps so did her.

With Oud engaged and other boys unsmiling, remembering my internal rule of not offing anybody  who doesn’t smile or at least catch an eye contact I went upstairs  to check their access  to the sea i.e. washrooms and to see that even that lounge is quite full then set off in a search of some warm body for tonight and this being me on my first day I had  only one other place in mind – Tawan.

This time I was a bit, just tiny bit apprehensive  since last year I have some pricing issues , namely 4000 LT  requests from few boys  and one jealousy  hissy fit from one of the boys so I feel a bit as marked man there but when comes to men this is my # 1 place if not I the world , in Bangkok for sure.

It was almost midnight with show finishing up with J/O contest, welcomed by mamasan  who recognized me got adrink and surveyed scene noticing immediately that there are quite  a few  new and not as massive as Tawan standard seems to be , boys . One , sitting nearby even smiled at me nicely but before I started thinking about giving him  a chance  familiar face of Phet # 51 showed in front of me and smiled.

Those who are reading my reports my recall that one at Tawan I was dumped by the boy while   paying off fee  to take him out with boy claiming that he must go with another clinet, kind of humiliation although I did not feel that way at the moment then since I had substitute in the room.

Since I  find him attractive next trip I gave him  a chance and offed him ST which was great but cut short by his claim that he must go already after perhaps 40 minutes. Only sweetener was that  he was excellent kisser and owner of great , muscular but not overbuilt body.

Twice mistreated I should forget about engaging with him and now  on my first night of 16th trip he is standing  at front of me , whole in smiles with hand extended so what choice other than patting on a seat beside me inviting him to seat I had ?
Bygones are bygones and body is as attractive as always , perhaps jet lag is fogging my judgement  , drink is ordered and before arrived he asked me already if he is going with me. “but long time only, OK” , ‘yes, yes”, things  are going well  so ‘How much you want?”
    “long time 5000”,

I know already I’m marked man there, sucker  and idiot throwing money away but had courage to state firmly  ‘’ no 3000” , ‘ok, ok 4000 is the answer’.

I know I should  say no but in meantime kiss is planted while my hand moved forcibly against my no-resistance from the knee to THE THING but still sixth sense is telling me that this time it may work or may be Guardian Angel is whispering ‘are you stupid for a sake of 1000 you want lose your fun” . Anyways OK, dress and go. “Are you hungry? “ , ‘no ‘,
‘ we will eat breakfast together/” , firm ‘yes’ – that was a moment I knew  I did best I could for myself.

There’s this expression ‘exceed expectation’ and it’s best to describe last night. If was as close to sleeping with boyfriend one can wish for . I know it’s all theater  but he was very good at that.

Showering in the morning I couldn’t not to ask if he comes during day. 4-7  p.m.  agreed and I don’t know who was happier , him or me but definitely it was great start of this trip and great end of day 1.

I really did enjoy the songkran parties and festival this year.   I think big difference here is the number of gayboys flying into town for the event.  some hotels you are not the minority!   If you dont get into the water festival part, yes the town is very disjointed with lots of closures and you not wanted to go outside getting wet.  And dont forget how HOT it is!

NYE less party party.... and i would suggest the town is also much more chilled with many places closed for the holiday period, streets empty of traffic and fresh clean air at that time of year.

Both times are my favourite times of year to visit.

Day 4.4: The Airport Goodbye Part 14: MonBoy Edition

It is no secret that I hate airports. I have written about it a number of times in my trip reports.  And I particularly hate airport goodbyes. In my earlier Thailand trips, even if I had a boy stay the night before I left to go back home, I usually go to the airport, alone, and geared up and focussed to return home. It is partly because of BurBoy that I now have the Airport Goodbye™ as a integral part of my LOS trips.

With BurBoy, the airport goodbye was a necessity, a way to spend every last remaining minute with me before I disappeared from his life for a few months. But with any other boy I just met or offed, the airport goodbye is less needed. I’m pretty sure that after a night of getting molested by me, they just wanted to go back to their room and sleep, to regain energy for the next customer that night. This trip's airport goodbye was supposed to be BurBoy’s, but instead MonBoy has claimed it for himself.

This trip, BurBoy did not insist on the goodbye, probably because of his work prep, and probably because it takes up to 2 hours (with traffic) from Suvarnabhumi to his room near Don Meaung. MonBoy, although having  just met him, volunteered wholeheartedly to accompany me to the airport. If he got his way, he would’ve spent all three nights with me this trip, even waiting me on the second night, the night I was with BurBoy, by not taking on any customers, and not going to Jupiter (after I give him his off fee for the second night), in the off chance I will change my mind and call on him.

We spend out last few moments naked together on the tub in my room at the Crowne Plaza. He has put all the bath soaps and effervescent salts in the tub to make it nice for us. We don’t have sex. Instead we talk, enjoy and relax for the next half hour. He gives me a soft neck and upper back massage while I lay against him in the tub. I was the little spoon, and he was giving me a relaxing rub. He washed off the makeup off of my hickeys and promised to conceal the hickey better than he did at Boots.

We get off the tub and showered off the bath salts and got dressed for the taxi ride to Suvarnabhumi. He puts on the makeup back on my neck and cheek, and when I look at the hickeys in the mirror, it was really barely noticeable unless you knew what you were looking at. I hope it stays on through my flight and dinner tonight. I check out at the lobby (0 baht with points), and get a taxi (500 baht flat rate) and we are off. And he immediately does this:

Still holding my hand to the very end. He was very quiet, closing his eyes sometimes to rest, looking at me once in a while and smiling. He was being contemplative, probably thinking about what he will do for the rest of the day, for the rest of his life, now that he is about to say goodbye to yet another customer. He was using two hands to hold my hand for some reason. Holding me too close it seems.

We get to the airport and I do my usual check-in. MonBoy hangs back while I do this. While I get my tags and tickets printed by the kind lady in Thai Aiways counter, I look back at MonBoy sitting on the bench. He sees me look at him and he smiles, quite tentatively. He looks away and has a look of worry. I wonder what he was thinking? I get my bags checked and tickets and head over his way. He stands up to greet me and kisses me in the lips.

“Are you OK?” I ask him. He looks at me and says “I OK, yes,” quite tepidly. I ask him if he wanted to get something to eat. It was only 12:30 PM and we had plenty of time. He takes my backpack from my shoulders and puts it on his back. “You no have to do for me,” pointing to my bag. He pretends to not hear as we make our way to the 3rd floor where all the shops and restaurants were. We peruse our options and choose a nice Thai restaurant with a nice selection of traditional Thai food for both of us to enjoy.

We look at the menu and I find a few rice dishes that I liked. I tell MonBoy my selection and he orders three of the ones I have chosen. He also orders a big tall glass of beer and I do the same. It’s a short flight to Manila and I am heading straight to a dinner so I guess beer is not out of the question for now. While we wait for our food he holds my hand and caresses my forearm. He is still quiet, not his usual jovial self from yesterday. And then he spots a tall Chinese-looking guy and laughs. He points to the guy discreetly and points to where my hickeys were. “Same na!” he says. I look at the guy and see a giant hickey in his neck, unconcealed, for all the world to see. I guess I was not the only one with souvenir love marks to take home. I wonder how many tourists leaving Suvarnabhumi today had hickeys. This airport probably has a larger than normal ratio of hickeyed to non-hickeyed passengers, compared to other airports in the world.

We get our food and we dig in. We have been up for 3 hours and this is our first taste of food, so we dig in wholeheartedly. MonBoy takes photos and sends them to his FaceBook and to Victory, his cousin from last night. “Good food?” he asks, breaking the silence. “Yes I like, very delicious.” He feeds me a big helping of some of the chicken. “I want you eat many because I cannot buy you food after this.” He smiles and nods. “What do you do in Philippine?” he asks about my trip. “I have some work there and I will tour too,” I answer. “When you go back USA?” “5 days. What will you do after today?” “I go back Myanmar.” “Oh, will you go to Myanmar to visit your family?” “No, I go Myanmar to live.” “You no want go back Jupiter?” “I no want to be Money Boy. I want go my farm”

I was slightly taken aback by this. He has only been working for 2 weeks as a gogo boy in Jupiter, and now he is quitting? Did he think he had enough money saved up to finish his house in Myanmar now, with me his last off? Was I his last ever customer? Was I that horrible that I turned him off from his profession? He sees me puzzled and confused, but I couldn’t find the words to try to figure this out. “Why no gogo?” I finally say. “I no want work Bangkok. Difficult. I want go back Myanmar. I want see my family. I work farm. I want go my house.” “Do you have money for house?” “Maybe. I can go back.”

Being a Money Boy is obviously a difficult job for anyone, no matter how hardened inside you are. But for a hot 21-year-old boy with considerable assets like his, being a Money Boy for a year or two could be very lucrative for MonBoy. He could save all his earnings and really start out his life back in his home country. And he would still be young enough to start over and do whatever he wanted. But instead here he was, quitting only after a short time.  Maybe what he was saying was true. Or maybe he was still playing The Game. Maybe if he told me I was going to be his last customer, that I would feel obligated to give him a lot of money to send him on his way as his last off. Who knows.

“Next time if you come Bangkok, Line me. I come back Bangkok and see you,” he says, smiling, holding my hand. “I want see you again.” “Okay, I Line you if I come,” I tell him. That’s probably not going to happen. But I guess it is a nice option to have. He is a beautiful boy, super attentive, and knows how to make me believe he was into me. But Bangkok is full of boys like him. He was special, sure, and the chemistry between us is very hard to find, but I am certain that there are many other boys like him out there. This was just a cold hard fact. Bangkok's charms are delightful and numerous, and his seemingly unique brand of sexual sorcery can probably be replicated elsewhere by another hot boy.

He tells me more about his farm and his house. He shows photos of both as well as his family members. It is obvious that he misses them a lot. I guess he really wasn’t meant to live a life in the fast lane. Being a Bangkok Gogo Boy was only a way for him to make some quick cash. It was not a legitimate long-term career choice for him, nor is it anyone else's, I'm sure. I ask him if there was a way for him to go back to school. He says that school is not for him, and will probably will just farm for the rest of his life.

We finish our meal and it was time for me to go to my gate. I ask him if he was going to use the train or a taxi. He said the train would be cheaper for him. As we make our down the labyrinthine escalator system that Suvarnabhumi had to get to the basement level for the train, he doesn’t stop with the PDA. He had his arm around me the while time, and he gave me discreet kisses once in a while. He didn’t care who saw. He was again testing his theory that Thailand is a more tolerant country than his own.

When we get to the train level, I pull him aside and gave him long time tip. I gave him the standard long time plus 50%. I wanted to give him more, but not too big of an amount that it would seem like I got manipulated by his story of quitting the gogo boy scene. I was not sure if it was true. He takes the money without counting and puts it in his pocket. He gives me my backpack and buys his fare in the fare machine. He gives me one last giant wet kiss and goes through the turnstile. And just like that, he was gone.

No tears for me this time. Only confusion and wonderment on what MonBoy has just told me about his future. I didn’t want to think that I had something to do with his decision, but what if I did? I can’t let it get to me. Only time will tell if he really has quit. I go through security and ruminate about all this in the Thai Airways lounge. I get a coffee and sit down and begin to write this trip report, knowing full well that it was going to be mostly about this wonderful, strange, and beautiful boy. I was actually glad that his two weeks of employment at Jupiter intersected with my trip. If I met him at the start of his two weeks, the circumstances might have been different and the off might not have been as good. But I meet him at the end of his tenure, and it was clear that he was eager to go out with a bang.

The Thai Airways plane ride was smooth and uneventful. The rest of my time in Manila was great and entertaining as well. Everyday, in my 5 days in Manila, MonBoy has dutifully talked to me. Video called me several times a day, each day. He made sure I saw where he was every time, usually in his room, as if to show me he wasn’t in Jupiter or with a customer anymore, especially at show time, at night, to prove that he has quit the business for good.

After all this, I get on my plane back to the USA. My first day back he tells me he is leaving for Myanmar in 2 days. I ask him if I was really his last customer. He says yes. He then says that he considers me a friend, and would like to continue to correspond with me. Sure enough, in two days he leaves for Myanmar. The video calls, now happening in rural Mon State, Myanmar, become more sparse and less regular. He says it is because of the spotty mobile internet connection in his hometown. After a week, the calls stop. He still messages me on Facebook once in a while, occasionally sending me photos of his farm, his house, his face covered in Thanaka, etc. The haircut becomes less fashionable, the clothes become more traditional. He has made his transformation back into farmer.

No transformations for me. I am still the same numazu, sex-crazed monster.

Hoooo boy, that escalated quickly. I was tempted to reply to steveboy's very many queries and concerns on here, but I didn't have to, as you guys have already done this, and more eloquently than I ever could. I love it when people reply to the report. I like reading about people's reactions to my activities, and I am very interested to know what parts of my holidays resonate with the members the most. I use feedback, any feedback, to motivate me to continue posting. The last thing I want is to silence any perceived criticism on the thread. I believe it is part of what makes this community great. We are all different, and I encourage differing opinions than mine on my reports. That's how we grow, is knowing about other people's experiences.

BUT, It can get pretty draining for someone like me who likes posting trip reports, to have to read and respond to a lot of what steveboy has lobbed in my direction. It's not even the judgmental nature of his comments that bothered me, its more the speculation on my life (i.e. he only thinks about sex), character (i.e. he is not a contributor to society), and motivations (i.e. I am desperate for sex) that was very troublesome. My BF has been tempted to reply on my behalf at times, as any devoted BF would when his beloved is attacked this way. I'm glad he didn't, because such aspersions don't deserve a response. I told him that its just the internet, and its just one guy getting carried away.

I hope this thread can continue on with a healthy participation from the members. And I hope this little episode has not dulled whatever little motivation we have left in making our little community better. I have learned so much about Thailand just by scanning through all the rich knowledge that has been written on here over the years. Writing these trip reports is my way of repaying those people who have come before me, and who have paved the way to me enjoying the country. Hopefully there are some of you who find all this writing useful.

We end up parking/setting up in one of the bars in soi4 for the street madness.  Used it as the base for food, drinks, visiting, resting, toilets - just gave you some space in all the madness.   Water fought on the balcony, went inside when you needed a break.  Worked well for us, lasted from late afternoon to midnight.  it was one of the first ones as you enter the soi... that same bar no longer there......

what other strategies does one have for street party?  Cant last more than a couple hours crushed on the street?   Maybe we could pick a bar as a meeting point?

HAH!  Never been to g-sircuit, so cant comment.  The ONLY reason we picked bear party is because we are older, hairier and heavier than 99.9% of the beautiful boys that will be at the boy party.  So there is a small chance we might actually fit in to this party.  Buffed gayboy dance parties not really our scene... but create your own fun i say!

As mentioned above, a wet market is a food market (as opposed to a clothing, souvenirs, etc).  The wet specifically referring to the market having butchers and fishmongers that require water/ice for trading.  So indeed not all food markets are wet markets.

Getting back to khloeng toei market... if you get into the heart of the meat and fish section... you will have more than water on your shoes.... Hence my description as biggest/baddest.  While some people get squeamish at these sorts of markets, i just love the action, drama and it the end, the connection to our food chain.

not so much a fluid situation ... instead i suggest the stiatuation is that is when they wanted to hold it ... but the tourism board or whomever, said you cant shut down the one of the most visited countries in the world during the busiest week of the year for a funeral!

it will save the economy millions by moving it to october.

If going to chatuchak if taking MRT, at kamphaeng phet station instead of following signs to Chatuchak market go in opposite direction to Or Tor Kor market - one of BKK leading food markets.  While a traditional wet market is it certainly upmarket... At one end is all the food court stalls... best eats.  A must do for me. Only reason i go to chatuchak.

Yes we will have to reconsider as well.  we usually end up in LOS during xmas week.  maybe bangkok will be off the list this year.

We were in the country when his sister was cremated.  We were in Samui, and saw some of the ceremonies on tv that ran all day.  It was a lights out, alcohol under the table night.  Minor interruptions to us, but i suspect the kings ceremonies to be more of an impact far from the nations capital.

Having said above, yes, went to see the cremation pyre though upon return to BKK.  and yes very worth the sightseeing diversion.

    Day 10.7: Celebrity Club

Celebrity Club was BurBoy’s favorite club in Bangkok. This is where he would go with his friends when they had a rare night off, or it was someone’s birthday, or if someone had a financial windfall. Since I suggested that we give one of his best friends, who was about to do his short-term monk ordination in a few days, a send-off, BurBoy thought Celebirty Club would be a good place for it. Since it was in the Ratchada area, it was a little bit far from the Silom gay ghetto, but there was no doubt that this club was gay, judging from the their Facebook page.

Before we go in BurBoy gets a call from his friend saying that they are in a taxi and will be at the club soon. We get in the club and see that they still had their Christmas décor up, even if it was January:

There were some people at the front who asked BurBoy what we wanted for the night. BurBoy told him it was going to be four of us, and will need some Whiskey and mixers. We get led into the club. At 10:00 PM, dance music was playing, though the place was still slow:

We were given a table that was close to the stage, on the left side. We get served our whiskey bottle and Coca colas and Soda waters and some waters as well. One of the waiters serves us our drinks and we toast to the night.

In 5 minutes, BurBoy’s friend and his boyfriend arrive. BurBoy gets some hugs from the two guys, and I get handshakes. BurBoy explains something and then the two greet me in English.

His good friend is a 21-year-old Thai boy, and his boyfriend is a mid-40s Thai guy. The younger guy (21) was a little bit femmy, tall-ish and very gregarious. His boyfriend (45) is shorter, a little bit heavy-set and soft-spoken. They work together in a small business owned by 45. They seem nice guys, and made every effort to speak in English when they could, and 21’s English was actually better than BurBoy’s. 45 was polite and asked me what I did back home, and asked me about my trip to Myanmar.

The waiter serves 21 and 45, and refills BurBoy’s and my drink. 45 asks for some peanuts, which had some kick to it because it had some peppers:

BurBoy and 21 catch up, speaking in Thai. They were laughing and making jokes, and once in a while BurBoy or 21 translates for my benefit. 45 would once in a while interject, but he was a little bit reserved. I would interject as well if I knew what they were talking about. All four of us were drinkers though, and all of us were putting away the whiskey. 45 whispered to me that he cannot drink too much, because he had work in the morning. I asked if 21 had work as well. He said no, he was off till he had to be shipped off to his ordination in two days.

Some staff goes to 21 and BurBoy and talk to the two of them. They busily take photos of the club and drinks and then post the photos on Facebook. The boys then show the staff their Facebook check-in and nod. They come back and give them both stuffed toys:

I guess at this early hour, getting the youngsters to post their status on Facebook saying that they were at the club, spreads the word to all their friends to come. A good social media strategy.

At around 10:30 the music changes and two boys in tank tops and briefs come out and make out and caress each other:

It wasn’t hardcore like Fresh Boy or Screwboys, but it was a welcome sight to start out the night.

The first sexy boy “fashion show” starts, with the boys going onstage one by one, wearing sleeveless shirts and briefs. When all were out, they dance to the beat:

They leave the stage and 10 minutes later they come out again, this time in black tank tops:

While this was happening, the club slowly fills up, and at 11 was 2/3s full. The fashion show ends and an interlude of music plays. We all toast to the night. I look around and see familiar faces. I see two boys that I think are gogos from Screwboys:

They were with an older Thai guy. I am only guessing that the two were working tonight, judging from the body language.

At the next table, I see four familiar faces. I think these were Jupiter boys:

Sadly, or luckily, none of them were MuscleBoy. Since it was Monday, maybe it was their night off, or maybe they all had early offs. It didn’t look like they were with any customers, and were just hanging out by themselves. So my guess most or all of them were gay, since they chose to hang out in a gay club, spending their hard-earned off money on drinks in a relatively expensive club. Maybe there was a special occasion. But it looked like they were having fun, and some of them even were tipping the boys, and taking selfies with the boys. Apparently, gogo boys need other gogo boys too.

The first band came out. They were very good, and mostly sang Thai pop songs that were catchy. Another reason I need to learn Thai:

There was a lot of activity around us. I notice a mostly good-looking bunch of (I’m guessing) Chinese gay boys catty corner from us:

There was a birthday celebration at the next table:

The next fashion show then starts, and the boys were wearing just briefs and leather straps worn sexily around their torsos:

While the boys were sexy and fun, it was kind of sad when my boyfriend has a much better body than the boys onstage.

The next act comes out, and she wasn’t Thai. She was from the Philippines, and thankfully she sang English-language pop and dance songs. She was very good, and had a very soulful singing voice. She then serenaded the half-naked boys:

She sang more songs, before exiting the stage. The boys came back out and danced their little hearts out:

The boys then dispersed, and this boy was dancing next to us:

45 gives 21 a 100 baht note, and 21 gives the note and a Whiskey shot to the boy, who gladly took the money and shot:

The boy talks to us for a while, and then gets back up and dances at a different area. Some of the boys stopped at some tables and started drinking with the customers, no doubt for more tips.

Another bunch of songs from the Filipino singer. After that it was a free for all, with the dancers going around the club and dancing and drinking. At 1:45 AM, the dance music intensifies, and the DJ talks for the last time:

And some seriously intense dance music then plays, and everyone just dances the night away:

At this point BurBoy, 21 and I were very drunk. 45 was nursing his drink and diluting it with coke once in a while, since he has to work tomorrow. Everyone seems to be having fun. We were all celebrities tonight.

    Day 10.4: Being Thai

So BurBoy was kind of bummed he didn’t get a passport today. He was bummed last month for not being able to get a passport for our trip. The only thing I could think of doing to cheer him up right now is to ply him with food. While we walk on Sathorn Road heading back to Soi Phiphat 2, I put my arm around his shoulders and squeeze. “You hungry? You want to eat?” We just ate breakfast 3 hours ago, so he said “Yes, little bit.” We get to Naradhiwat Rajanagarindra Road and see Alphabet Restaurant (#1,655 out of 9,482 Bangkok restaurants reviewed on TripAdvisor). The menu by the door looks promising, so we get seated.

I have to watch what I eat, as opposed to BurBoy who can eat anything. He orders a Mushroom salad with pork, and a calamari appetizer to share:

He orders coconut juice, in a coconut. Here he is, flipping all of you off:

I ordered a very large Long Island iced tea. BurBoy remarks that I am starting the drinking too early. I tell him that it is my holiday so I can do what I want. He eats his mushroom salad and tells me the nutritional benefits of eating mushrooms.

After the meal we head back to the condo. We had about 5 hours to kill before we had to go to our night activities. For the first time together in this trip, we did not have anything planned. No tour to go to, no party for at least 5 hours, just some time to relax. BurBoy takes the finished laundry out of the washer. Since the unit did not have a dryer, he uses the dryer rack by the washer and lays out all our clothes on it, and running out of space, he takes all the hangers from the closets and hangs the rest of the wet clothes around the room.

While he does this, I turn on the TV and discover that it had Netflix. I signed in with my U.S. Netflix account and was surprised that it worked. I flip through the shows and see that some of the available shows were different here in Thailand than back home. BurBoy takes the remote from me and flips through the shows. He decides on an ABC show called “Designated Survivor.” I work the TV remote till I figure out how to add subtitles to the show. Alas, it was only English subtitles. BurBoy can read some English, but I imagine he has difficulty reading at conversation speed. He didn’t mind.

It’s funny that I have never heard of this show, but the concept is that the President of the United States, all of Congress and all of his cabinet get blown up by terrorists during the State of the Union address. The “Designated Survivor” was the Housing and Urban Development Secretary, and due to the Presidential Line of Succession, the lowly HUD Secretary becomes President. Sounds preposterous, but if the new President is played by Kiefer Sutherland, I am willing to let some things slide.

While watching BurBoy had a shit ton of questions about the show. What’s a Cabinet Secretary? Why are their terrorists? Why was there no election? Why is Kiefer Sutherland not tall? It probably took us 50% longer to watch the 45-minute show due to pausing for explanations. I was more than OK with it, but some things cannot be explained fully explained by me due to language, cultural, and educational barriers. The fun is in the trying though, and after it was over BurBoy wanted to watch another episode.

After watching another episode, we decide to take a disco nap. I crank up the aircon. Cuddling, spooning, and eventually sleeping, we rest for a few hours. We wake up at 8 PM and get ready for the night ahead. We had plans to have a grand meal at the Ratchada Area. After dinner, we had plans to hang out with one of BurBoy’s best friends and his boyfriend. They could not join us for dinner but will be meeting us at Celebrity Club. We wear matching short shorts and t-shirts and we head out to the street.

BurBoy tells me that he wanted go to Oxa Pub and Restaurant (#732 out of 9,482 Bangkok restaurants reviewed in TripAdvisor). That meant we can take the MRT at Silom station and get off 8 stations later at Huai Kwang Station. We walk 15 minutes from the condo to the MRT station. We get those little plastic coin tokens and pay the 32 baht to get to Huai Kwang. We wait with others at the station:

At almost 9PM, the subway car we get in was pretty busy, and we had to stand. Forty minutes later we get to Huai Kwang station. It would probably be quicker if we took a taxi, but it would’ve been more expensive. Whenever I could, I love taking the BTS or the MRT. Its relatively cheap, goes to most places that I want to go, and its ripe for people watching.

We walk to Oxa Restaurant but see that is was closed:

BurBoy was surprised it was closed tonight. He reads some of the signs and he tells me that it was closed for the New Year celebrations. It will be open again in a couple of days, but today was January 2, and employees need a break. BurBoy quickly checks Facebook to see if Celebrity Club was open tonight, and not also closed due to the New Year. He breathed a sigh of relief and showed me the Facebook post that showed that they were open tonight.

We assess our options. BurBoy was set on eating at Oxa, but it was closed. I recommend us going to Celebrity Club now, and look for a restaurant close to it. BurBoy liked this idea, so he automatically hails a cab. He tells the driver our destination. 5 minutes later, we were by Celebrity Club. BurBoy pays the guy 40 baht.

We look around the area and we see this green neon sign:

BurBoy says he has been to this restaurant before, and guaranteed me that I will like it. We get in and the place is huge! It didn’t look this big from the outside. We pass by the bar, and I immediately like it:

We get seated by the pool, and see that this establishment was called “Nathong Restaurant” (#1,131 out of 9,482 Bangkok Restaurants) :

We get our menus and peruse the seemingly hundreds of dishes we can order:

A waitress comes and BurBoy immediately asks for our favorite, Myanmar Beer. We get a cart by our table, and we get poured our glasses of gold heaven:

I choose one thing and BurBoy chooses two things. I look around the area and there were a lot of people eating around the huge grounds. At the stage there was a live band singing trendy Thai songs:

I enjoy these Thai restaurants with live entertainment. I don’t understand the songs but the melody is universally catchy. anddy Lines me and asks me what I was doing. I send him a photo of the band and restaurant. I also tell him we were checking out Celebrity Club after this. He replies with “All of that is so Thai.” I laugh and wish him a good night. Since I looked the part, all that is needed now is me speaking the language, and the transformation is complete.

Our food comes, and it all looked so good:

We ordered some fish Tom Sam, Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab and some Roasted Pork Ribs. We tore into the amazing meal. I look over at BurBoy and he was happily eating the food. The festive ambiance, live entertainment, the delicious food, and the charming company all made the night. We finish and pay up. I forgot how much the meal was but obviously it wasn’t that much for me to remember.

With enough beer to make us giddy over the food, we head over to Celebrity Club:

So next, the boys of Celebrity Club, and BurBoy’s friends…
