I worry mainly about that hospitals fake the positive test. I wont get covid. I will lock myself up at home in the two weeks before depature. So I am pretty sure when I test positive the hospital tricked me. (If you get it on the day of departure it can't be detected Day 1. The virus needs time)

I tried reading it for a few of them, but it is not clear for me. Nowhere I read: "If you test positive for covid, but are not ill, but you have to quarentaine in the hospital your hotel partners with, then we pay for these hospital costs also, even when you dont feel sick at all" Good luck finding this in any of the policies. I don't see it. If they cover it then why not state it as clearly as I do above?

What is the name of the insurance company you used?
-
How to avoid testing during the holiday? Day 5 is a mandatory test. And there still is the risk your hotel partners with a shady hospital that fakes positive tests so it can earn on you.
-
Does anyone know where I can get insurance against quarentaine? I understands the regular health insurance doesnt cover that. It only covers when you get actually sick. Buit if you have to quarentine because of a positive covid test - even when totally feeling normal - the quarentaine costs are not covered because you are not sick. But this can becomes expensive: 10.000 baht a day in a hospital because that is where they want you to quarentaine. And it can take 10 days. So is there insurance for these costs? If so where?

My Thailand Pass got approved for my March holiday. Two questions, curious if it is only me or others also have this: 1) In the approval mail the pass was attached twice as a pdf file. These two pdf files are the same. Seems like a bug in the system. Or you only got one pdf? 2) When I add the QR code to Apple Wallet it says at the end: Submitted at: 2022-02-05; No later than: 2022-03-20 What does this 'No Later Than' mean? I hope it doesnt mean I have to leave before that date because I arrive only a few days before.

Yes I have done just that. But now I worry that the hotel is partnering with a shady private hospital that will fake a positive test so it can let me stay for 10 days at their side and earn money on me. Reading the above story made me worry. But if there is a positive test cant I just quarentine for 10 days in the hotel? Much cheaper than a hospital.

It worries me to read that the PCR tests can be a scam and they give you positive result because then they can make more money on you. I am sure in that case I have the right to arrange a PCR test at a hospital of my choice? The government says you need a day 1 and day 5 test. It doesnt have to be at the location you originally booked, yes? I booked a package deal (hotel + pcr tests + airport transfer). I am allowed I assume, then when I suspect the hospital is a deliberately giving me a postive result test, that I can just go anywehre else for the test and use their negative result as proof I am negative?
-
FYI: I have booked The Venue. That is to my surprise a Test&Go hotel.
-
I have booked the ticket. Now I am at the hotels.com website to book for day 1 and 5 for a SHA Extra Plus hotel. But i dont see anywhere mentioned that this includes the PCR test and the pre-arranged transfer from airport to hotel. Is it better then to book via the hotel website dirtectly?
-
I have booked the ticket. First trip in more than 2 years. I will arrive 14.35 at the airport. This counts as DAY1 yes? I will then later that day (evening I assume) have the result. I will do first day Bangkok (pure for test purposes) and then second day the bus to Pattaya.

Do your guys refrain from sex the first 5 days and from massage, to limit the risk of getting covid from a boy and being tested positive ? And only after day 5 you will do what you normally did?
-
Just to double check: at the moment bars and massage saloons are open yes? If yes I will book the ticket tomorrow for somewhere in March.
-
What if you get covid on the plane and you test positive in Thailand? Then big problem and big loss of money. Worrying about that.
-
I am also looking to go to Thailand again after 2 years. The PCR test is easy to arrange. The proof I have health insurance is easy to arrange. But I understand I can only book at certain hotels and must arrange already from home to trip to Pattaya. How is this done? How and where can I book taxi to the hotel up front? When I go to booking.com or hotel.com it will be easy to see which hotels you can book and which I can not book?
-
After more than 2 years I am looking at a ticket and going for the Test&Go approach now that the government has lifted quarentaine. I used to fly with KLM but their tickets have gone up a lot. Now looking for cheaper options from Amsterdam to Bangkok Which airlines have reliable connections? I don't want to risk that my flight gets cancelled.

Finally a light at the end of a super long tunnel?

Possible if massage is open. Else you will rely 100% on the apps. -
What about massage shops? They can be open? 50% of my sex came from massage anyway. The other from bars or apps. So if bars are closed but massage shops open then it is doable. You get the other 50% from the apps.

I will wait. Covid cases in Europe are rising. Netherlands going into new lockdown. Also the gogo bars are still closed. Are massage shops open already? I will wait till at least a few weeks everything is back to normal. And boys have arrived back to Pattaya. Bars have been operating normally for a few weeks. Then I feel confident to return. I aim for January or February
-
Same here. But only if the venues open also. If I go to Thailand and I can’t get massages, can’t visit bars, can’t see beautiful boys dancing in show bars, it is pointless. Certainly if also most boys still are in their home province. For me more needs to happen, then Thailand just be reachable again via plane.
-
Your guys have some good points I am however worried that the longer it takes hotels will eventually go broke. And then when tourism opens up again we can’t book anything Say the lockdown is 5 years wouldn’t it be weird if some hotels were still left standing? The owners need to pay mortgage, local property taxes etc. And have as good no income.
-
It surprises me how business can survive who depend on tourists. You would have expected nearly all hotels in Thailand to be broke by now. But that isn’t the case. I guess this proofs we paid way too much for hotel rooms. They can survive with almost no income. Same for restaurants and bars. The fact they still exists can only mean their prices in pre-Covid times were hugely inflated. Apparently it is possible to survive as a bar on almost nothing. I am almost surprised now we had to pay for drinks in the pre corona period 🙂

500 baht a day for a room is excessive. I know boys who pay like 4000 per month (excluding electricity) and they don’t share. Just one room for them alone.
