This is insulting on several levels. The use of the word homos (along with fags, poofters, pillow biters etc) to describe gay people is considered offensive and not acceptable in everyday conversation. It has a long history of being used as a derogatory slur to demean, marginalise and insult LGBTQ+ individuals. It may be part of the vernacular in Podunk America or of the MAGA crowd, but it isn't elsewhere and certainly not in 2026.
Secondly, I don't know why you seem to think it's so unusual for gay people to be interested in sports. You said in another thread that you can't imagine that anyone in this forum would be interested in sports. I let it slide that time but not today. Why would it be so difficult to imagine members of this forum to be interested in sports? Because we're gay? I can assure you that not only are many of us interested in sports but we also play sports. We don't just sit in front of the TV watching it, stuffing our faces and growing fat.
LGBTQ+ people playing sports professionally are everywhere. Chiang Mai has an active LGBTQ+ volleyball team and they've thrashed the straight boys several times; it's all in good fun and everybody goes for a beer afterwards. Keep us this insular, macho shit attitude of yours and I can envisage you having problems in Thailand; I'm already forming a composite picture of what you're like from your posts and it's not a pleasant one.

One of my "seasonal" farang friends is back in Jomtien from Europe so I used that opportunity for us to go and eat at Guido's new Pratamnak branch restaurant last night.

The restaurant is beautiful, especially the outside area which includes a waterfall, mini decorative pool, tropical landscaping and wonderful lighting. It was lightly raining and we still preferred to sit outside as it more magical outside than the indoor airconditioned area.


The menu seems to be the same as the Bangkok Silom soi 4 branch. The food was delicious as is always the case at G's.


As the portions are quite large there was no room for dessert.
Unfortunately, Guido was not there last night as he was still in Bangkok.
After our big meal we should have made the 20 minute walk along Dongtan beach back to Supertown in the Jomtien Complex (as the rain had already stopped) but we were bad boys, as we were too eager to see what kind of trouble we could get into at one of the pillow bars, as they have added some new guys to the crew....👹🍆💦😜

Thanks for the recommendation. In the end, I booked a few nights at Men's. If it's anything like Arthur & Paul in Phnom Penh, then I'll likely enjoy it very much.

I am writing to share some sad news. Our fellow member, Lucky, unexpectedly passed away on July 7, 2026, following a brief illness.
On a personal note, Lucky and I were in touch for over two decades. When I hadn't heard from him or seen him post anything lately, I emailed him. When there was no reply, I expected the worst. His sister must have gotten access to his email account because she eventually replied and notified me of his passing. Believe it or not, despite everything he accomplished in his career, he always looked up to me. Keeping in contact with him for 20 years was a true privilege, and I am going to miss our whore stories exchanges.
Many of you might remember Lucky as an occasional contributor to these forums since 2006, chiming in over the years to share his fondness for annual trips to Bangkok or join discussions in The Beer Bar. He truly enjoyed the community and the lifestyle we all share here.
However, the true mark he left on this world was through his deeply distinguished, trailblazing career as an attorney fighting for justice. Long before he was able to freely travel, he served as a high-ranking prosecutor and the Chief of a major District Attorney’s Hate Crimes Unit in California during the 1980s and early 1990s.
What makes his legacy so incredible is that he was an openly gay attorney doing this job during a deeply volatile and hostile era for our community. Working right on the front lines, he pioneered tough, unprecedented prosecutions against homophobic violence and secured landmark felony convictions against those who targeted gay individuals. He famously used his platform to send a clear message to institutions like the military that violence against the LGBTQ+ community would not be tolerated. He was also a fierce advocate for attorney rights, standing up for core legal principles within the state system.
When health concerns forced his early retirement in 1993, he didn't stop living fully. He spent his decades of retirement exploring the world alongside his lifelong love and partner, and caring for his beloved Scottie dogs.
Lucky was a devoted partner, a fierce advocate, a true traveler, and a man who fought hard to make the world a safer place for all of us. He will be deeply missed.

Yeah I don't think they have the power of something like Ambien. And I might just as well have fallen asleep without them. I never take anything to sleep so that might be why they worked well for me. Just seems like they help. Plus they taste good and I have a sweet tooth... so it's entirely possible I am justifying eating candy.

I tried these sleep gummies on my last trip as I was having issues but didn't really work so I had to take more drastic measures and bought some melatonin medication from the pharmacy. However I didn't try taking the gummies when waking up too early, might experiment with that next time!

I agree with you @aaroninatl, even though the guys are stunning, they don't quite fit into my general 'type', but some of the waiters definitely do! I think they are offable?

Thanks to @bkkmfj2648 for being an awesome tour guide.  Beyond showing me the fun spots, it was nice to have a wingman too.  That's why I was asking/suggesting you guys all do an annual thing.  There was one "pillow bar" we went to last night that had I been alone would have been a total dud.  But given that he knew a few of the performers, they put on a show for just us and all of a sudden it was a raucous party with 100 dollar bills (well, baht) flying everywhere and the boys let loose.  

Jomtien was great. I don't think it'll be a contender for a place I'd live.  But it's cool that it's there for a weekend getaway spot when I do live here.  The Airbnb I had was in his same building which was random and convenient.  It's perfectly situated between the beach and the bars.  

Getting back to BKK, it felt like... sigh, I'm home.  Before touching down on Thai soil, I really didn't think Bangkok would feel like this. It was more just where my flight would land.  My gut still tells me I'll like Chiang Mai more.  But we'll see.  Now it's a few more days here before I head to Ko Samui on the 9th.  Didn't think there would be any gay life on KS, but was glad to learn today there will be a small strip of fun.

Tonight it's back to bouncing around the Silom spots with a board member.  BKK was the first I met from this board. And I'll be this member's first human connection.  Maybe I'll do a little live reporting tonight. 

Chapter 3: You Are Special
Before I went back to sleep, I texted good morning to Vinapu. He expressed interest in checking out my hotel, the Conrad, and said he would be passing by around 11:15 am. I set my alarm, but apparently, he arrived much earlier and was waiting for me in the lobby. I called him at 11:10 am and went down to usher him to the lounge for coffee and catching up. We didn’t have much time to chat yesterday. Afterward, we did a room tour, and then I went back to sleep lol.
Woke up a few hours later and went to Prime for a massage. I had a dinner meeting with an ex-forum member and his BF. When I tried to book my massage, I could only book a 90-minute oil massage so I wouldn't be late for dinner. The good thing was that dinner was at Mango Tree, which is a stone's throw away. I arrived there slightly early, and not long after, the ex-forum member appeared. Vinapu was invited, but he appeared to be nursing his jetlag. Just when we were about to finish our meal, I got a message saying he had just woke up.
So, we made a plan to meet at Midnight Bar before our nightly adventure. I went back to the hotel to freshen up before heading back out to Midnight Bar. We both have the hots for one of the waiters there. I never fail to either buy him a drink and tip him, or just tip him if he is already occupied with a customer. Charming guy, and he always comes over and treats his regulars well. I've never offed him except for that one time for karaoke with jason1975—the first guy I've offed for karaoke only lol. In case you are wondering, yes, we have discussed the possibility, but it hasn't materialized for whatever reason. Vinapu arrived not long after. We agreed to visit Tawan tonight.
Tawan is doing well considering it's a Sunday night and the low season. Plenty of boys, at least a dozen, and I saw 2–3 new faces, some worth a second look. One guy in particular looked like a guy who had just completed his short-term temple stay. He seemed kinda familiar, and much later on, I came across his video lol. If I had seen the video while I was still in Thailand, I would've grabbed him.
We stayed for the show. If Xboy is the most progressive show bar in Pattaya, I dare to say Tawan is the lesser equivalent for a Bangkok show bar. Meanwhile, I finally got to see live how annoying the Tawan guys are when sitting next to our esteemed member in Tawan, and trust me, he did not exaggerate one bit. While I was, for the most part, left alone—except for one guy who sat in front of me—Vinapu was being harassed front, left, and center.
And this is where his famous "I like girls" response backfired. Now the boys (who mostly like girls) sat next to him and opened his phone to show him straight porn lol. I agreed when Vinapu said to me that they were doing a disservice to themselves, driving away a regular customer with that kind of behavior. Before we left, we both tipped the best-looking newbies.
After Tawan, we left for the next bar, Dreamboy. I already had someone in mind, VT from day one. I had promised him I would take him next time, so here I am fulfilling that promise. He was glad to see me; I bought him a drink and asked if he wanted to go with me. We stayed a while for the show before heading back. I asked my guy if he wanted something to eat, and he said yes. I can't recall if it was Foodland or 7-Eleven, but I said my goodbyes to Vinapu, who was not done hunting for the night.
VT left after breakfast. Since this was only my second time with him—and I might add, the first proper night, as the first time I took him was partially spoiled by my own mistake (left my phone in a Bolt taxi)—I tried my best not to doze off for too long lol. After VT left, I continued sleeping until way past 1 pm.

Wednesday night update...

I don't think there's going to be any bar time tonight.  My Grindr guy and I are still going strong... I mean it's almost a week.  I can't remember the last time a guy's been in my life for a week.  Let alone one where I don't have to hit the ATM.  Don't know what he sees in this old bag o' bones, but it's been nice.  He's from Tokyo so tonight I found one of those Japanese spots where you cook your own meats at the table.  He loved it.  Owner was from Japan so they got to speak in their native.  When we got back to my Airbnb, even though we were full as hell, we burned some calories.
So it's 10pm now. He has to teach in the morning so he's in the Grab on the way home.  Me... I'm sitting here trying to encourage myself to go out and expand my now infamous rankings. But it might have to be put on hold until I get back from Pattaya.  I'm beat.

BTW the restaurant is "Tokyo Beef."  Well worth trying.  And it's near Senso.  I haven't been there yet.  Was odd to see a gay massage place with no boys out front.  I definitely wanted to pop my head in, but yeah, he doesn't know about that part of my visit so we kept walking.

As to how such gatherings are arranged, I would say @vinapu presence does draw forum members together.
They might even reschedule their trips so that they can meet Esteemed Forum Member.
Many active forum members are acquainted with @vinapu either via forum personal message and through Line and Whatapp and we share with him our arrival dates.
Since he knows who's in Bangkok at same time, he's able to suggest dinner gathering and he's been generous to welcome everyone, even newcomers to the forum.

Most active forum members come to Bangkok at least once a year.
Some come twice or thrice a year.
Everyone has his own specific dates to visit depending on his own work / family situation.
Sometimes the trips of a few forum members happen to overlap so we arrange to meet for dinner and visit to bars.
To answer your question, there is no annual gathering with a fixed date for get together.
