Maybe not your regular, but I suspect some young men have polished their drama abilities. Some workers in that soi deserve a phd in manipulating soft hearted farang, including me.

Screwboys is possibly my favourite bar as I can get close to the men. I tend to give 100 bt to some of them rather than buying them drinks.

In recent years I have come to prefer Vietnamese men instead of Thai men. Maybe I find them more butch. Slimmer? Funnier? I'm not altogether sure - but I like them.

I was there about ten nights ago. Very busy at show time with Asian customers. Few farang. First drink 550 baht. Lots of men on the stage but I like twinks and didn't see any. Show worth a look if you like shows.

I always have a good time with the Viet men from Screwboys, though not always for sex. They are funny. And their slimness is an inspiration. I think they are more interested in a tip than a drink. So that's 900 bt saved on the maths above.

I especially recommend Noh (I'm guessing the spelling. It sounds like 'No') at Zy Massage. I was there a few days ago.

I've been to Ha Tinh several times. Friendly people, nice beach a taxi ride away. Worth a visit. Most of the Viet lads don't bottom. They are better at being tops.

There isn't much gay scene in Vietnam. I found the apps, like Hornet, worked well to meet men though most are looking for cash as well.

Good to hear of the new Tokyo Boys. I will look when I'm back in a few weeks. Last month Screwboys bar were cheaper at 300 bt for a beer and 500 bt off fee but great to see more boy bars on Patpong soi 2. I've had one drink at the new Freshboys up the stairs above those bars. Are they still doing what appears to be a soft opening?

Last time I got a taxi from DMK I went to departures area to find a taxi dropping people off. Very quick. And a happy cab driver.

I was drinking tea in Dicks Bangkok yesterday and no sign of imminent changes. It seems to put chairs outside at 16.00 these days.

I was in Saigon for 3 nights about 18 months ago. I used Romeo and Hornet and met 3 men. One looked nothing like his photo so I gave him a bit of money and he went away after a brief argument. One was fine. I forget what I paid him. One was memorable forever and we did everything. I had offered him 500,00 dong online and gave him 800,000. I should have given him more but he seemed to enjoy the session.

Boys 66 (used to be the Jupiter off Surawong) has some tall muscular guys who are very handsome. Makes a change from the very twinky guys at many go go bars in the area.

In Da Nang I met a great guy off Hornet in January. No mention of money in advance but I gave him a decent present the next day.

The Mail calls it an 8% fall but it is never good with figures. I can't recall the rate just before the referendum but I recall getting 52 to the pound at some point in the first part of last year. On my recent trip the best rate varied from a low of 42.6 to a high of 44.4. So the drop is nearer 16%.

I think Screwboys on Patpong Soi 2 is strong on twinks and a beer is 'only' 300 baht. And they always have plenty of men on stage and stay open late.

Worry not. Dicks now closes on Thursdays. There has been a notice in the toilet announcing this would happen from May 4th.

That is awful, especially when there are so few customers about in the post Songkran lull. For some of these lads the cash we give them is all they have in the world.

I popped in to Jupiter on Soi 4 to make sure they are opening tonight and they confirmed they open at 20.00 today, 27th April. I will call in. I hope they have special cheap beer prices on the opening night.

Glad to hear Eros is still open. I recall it as cheap and unsophisticated so it will suit me.

I think those of us who have had a good time with the Vietnamese men can spread a bit of money around to help out when we are there. I will be there next week. They are having a grim time at the moment.
