Have you been to Hat Yai?  I really enjoyed my visit there.  They have really good food with mix of Thai and Chinese.  There is also one of the best floating markets I've visited and a fantastic stainless steel temple that you can climb into.  Hotels there are very reasonable in price and there are many more things to see than I have mentioned.

What a very smart idea - so the authorities want to keep a check on EXACTLY where each farang in the Country is staying and come up with their super plan to make that happen - so, you go on a bit of a tour with your BF, listing a few cities as you go, staying in each for a night or two, diligently posting off your TM30 in each city as you go, you get home a week later, just as your TM30's are probably arriving at the immigration office ( if you're lucky) , probably then to be ignored by some civil servant for a few days more as then read where you've been but not of course where you ARE ( which one assumes was the whole point)  - a great plan, obviously VERY well thought out - NOT.
Perhaps we could ask could we do away with the TM30 end of things and just send them postcards saying how much we were enjoying our trips in each place instead perhaps ? 

Thai Immigration announces that foreitners will no longer have to fill out the TM6 when entering Thailand and that they will soon make it easier to file a TM30 online and the 90 day report.  We will have to wait to see if the government's word is good.

Divine, you continue to suffer from a desire to paint a beautiful picture of Thailand and its government.  You have blinded yourself if you believe that they are not trying to make it as difficult as they can for expats to remain here.  And, exactly what tax base is paying to the government hospitals here?  Certainly not the Thai people who go to these hospitals. I won't pretend to know where the money comes from to finance the Thai government but I do not believe it is from taxes. Also, for your divine information, I use a private hospital here because I don't want to sit for 8 hours waiting to see a doctor as most of the patients who are there have to do.
With regard to Thai culture, I firmly believe that it cripples this land.  The desire to never disagree with or tell someone they are wrong is ridiculous.  You try to make it appear that I am thoughtless and do not understand Thai people.  I have lived here 13 years and during that time I have met many Thais and have had many good times with them but their culture also makes them hypocrits and sometime liers.  There was an occasion when a group I was with, consisting of 5 people, 3 of which were Thai, were playing cards and talking.  One of the Thais was lying about some serious things he said and none of the Thais would challenge him.  Yes, this is a small example but I have seen it on many occasions.  It is the same thing with directions.  Thais will almost never tell you they don't know.  Better to give an incorrect answer than to say they don't know and, due to their culture, loose face.
I think that you love Thailand because of the sex available to you.  That is not bad but don't let it blind you to underlying facts about Thailand and its people.

You are absolutely correct.  There are some very good things about Thai Culture such as respect to the elders, parents, religious and authorities.  There is a downside to this and I have said what I believe about that.  Do you live here?  Regardless of if you live here or you are an occasional tourist I hope that you continue to enjoy yourself.

I enjoy many of Divine Madman's posts but on this topic he is full of crap. He should apply for a government job as PROMOTER OF THAILAND GOVERNMENT BULLSHIT. Visiting here and living here are very different.  When you are in a place for a very short time it is easy to overlook the problems that exist in that place but living here is different.  You must face those problems daily for an extended time.
Trying to over look the recent attacks on us by the Thai government is impossible.  It is obvious that they are doing many things to make it more uncomfortable for us to stay here for long periods of time.  The most recent has to do with health care:

Add up all of their recent moves relating to expats and it is not possible to avoid the fact that they do not want us here.
 

Living here is getting to be a severe problem.  The Thai government appears to want to make it as difficult as they can for expats to reside in Thailand.  More laws to cause us problems such as TM30, 90 day reporting and other harassment in acquiring  a visa extension.  The documentation they require is now about 8 pages and some they make you sign are exclusively in Thai language and you don't know what you are signing.  What I really do not understand is WHY.  Most of us spend a lot of money here but they continue to pile on problems for us.
It is much better to just visit for a limited time.  Come for a couple of weeks and go home to the West.  You don't have a serious visa problem and most of the other silly requirements do not have to be deal with. They are much more welcoming to tourist.

If it were not for my boyfriend who has a great job here in Thailand I would be in Mexico.  You made a great decision.

Buck, you are so correct.  Thailand and especially Bangkok, is changing very quickly in many ways and not good ways.  Prices for many things are getting more expensive but we are not getting better products.  The bars and boys are included here.

I don't have any advice on how to handle it when you bet him to your place and see it for the first time.  However, you are correct that it is not a pretty thing to see. So, I agree that it can be repulsive.

I hope I will be forgiven to post it here.  On a Thailand forum.  I sometimes look at Chaturbate. And the Latino guys from South America are as sexy as the Thai boys I know from Thailand. 
But there is one big difference. Their education level. When I chat via pm with them I often ask what they study in University. Not seldom I get answers like radiology, medicine, mathematics, etc. I must admit I had some prejudices about guys who show themselves at Chaturbate: lower class background, poor families. But more and more I get the idea that prejudice is totally wrong. 
Yet it is strange to comprehend for me that the next supreme Court Justice of Colombia or the next particle physics professor at the most prestigious university in Medellin in his student years showed himself on Chaturbate. But in the near future it's probably possible that these things can be said about people like that, and not only about the next employee of the month at McDonalds. 
This means one thing: you need to know at a young age if you ever want to run for office. Because if you want, then showing yourself on Chaturbate in your younger years is a bad idea. The videos viewers made of you can show up years later when the opposition candidate shows them in his campaign.  I wonder if these well off guys are aware of these risks.

90-Day reporting is your responsibility.  If you want to nerd-out, the form is TM-47.  You can report online.  It doesn't involve your landlord.  (But TM-30 usually involves the landlord, see below).  The 90-day clock restarts every time you re-enter the country.  You can report online, but the window to do so is 15 days before-but-not-less-than 7 days before the 90th day.    90-Day Reporting Online.   Now there is also a phone app for that called Immigration eServices for Foreigner or something like that.  In the Apple App store you can find it by searching for "Royal Thai Police."  (There is also an Android version.)  When I signed up for the app it took several days just to register, so take that into account.  The online reporting and apps are notoriously finicky.  I certainly wouldn't wait until the last day when you can report using these methods.  If for whatever reason you don't make the online reporting window, if you are in Bangkok you make the 90-Day report at Chaengwattana.  I think 90-day reporting might be one of the few situations where you can send someone to do it for you, but I don't know for certain.  You get a receipt (or you print out your receipt if you do it online) and it goes to the immigration officer along with your passport and departure card when you leave..  There are lots of reports of Immigration officers check to see if you have have complied at departure.  There is a fine.  
A different reporting is TM-30 reporting.  Bangkok didn't used to care about TM-30 reporting, although offices in some other districts did.  But all that has changed very recently and Bangkok is now enforcing TM-30 reporting.  To put it mildly, expats have gone bat-shit crazy over this.  But it is what it is.  Right now it has been coming up in situations where people have had to go to Immigration to "do" something - such as file for an annual extension of stay.  They are forced to get current with their TM-30 before anything else will be processed, and there are reports of an 800 baht fine or something like that.
The basic rule is that whenever a foreigner stays the night at a hotel or home,  a report is supposed to go to Immigration.  Hotels do this online and you don't even know about it.  The "change" is that Bangkok Immigration is now enforcing it strictly to everyone - not just hotels.  So, for example, when you go to stay in your rented apartment, a report is supposed to go in to Immigration.  It's easy if your landlord or condo juristic person (office) files the report.  The law, however, effectively makes the landlord and the tenant jointly responsible for making sure that the form is filed.  So if your landlord doesn't do it you can (and should).  You can complete the TM-30 form as "possessor", rather than as owner.   I believe that in the Thailand Apple and Google app stores an app is available, but it is not available (or not available yet) in Apple App stores outside Thailand.  You can also complete the form on-line.  TM-30 Online Reporting (Thai Language).  I believe that registration to use the on-line form requires uploading the lease and other specified info.  There are reports of people waiting for approval for many weeks.   You can also file the TM-30 by mail, just enclose a return stamped envelope for the receipt.  Or file in person.
Immigration, for whatever reason, seems to be in the midst of a "work to rules" phase, so this is all a bit new and some of the more bonkers fact patterns are still unclear, and practice differs from office to office.  For example, if I go visit Chiang Mai and stay in a hotel, the hotel will file a TM-30, but then when I go back to my apartment in Bangkok am I supposed to file (or tell the juristic person to file) a new TM-30 to update the info?  Some Immigration offices say yes, some say no, and we don't know what Bangkok Immigration thinks on this vitally important question that is more important than anything else in the world (to some people on Thai Visa).  
One of Big Oud's recent press conferences was to showcase Immigration making an example of two ladies fined ฿2,000 for failure to report foreigners.
The Thai Visa forum is the best resource for finding up-to-date info and read pages and pages of outrage about this (or that).  Basically, just look for answers by "UbonJoe" and ignore everyone else.  He knows his stuff. Most of the rest are just miserable and cranky complainers.  
If you are entitled to use the special Immigration Office in Silom (Chamchuri), things might be different for you.
Personally, I am not in the country on an annual renewal extension of stay, and I travel in the region enough that I've only had to file a 90-Day report twice, so I expect I'll just ignore TM-30 until I think it could come back to bite me.  But that's not advice.
