Actually, it got to be quite a nice thing for me to smell the paper/ink odor differences among the various paperback books I bought.
Bantam somehow entirely eliminated the smell.
OTOH, Signet imparted an ineluctably unavoidable scent that, physically, drew you into the intellectual content of their books.
I am not making a joke here!
And even before that, just that the atmospheric heat-trapping effects of airborne CO2 are melting the ice sheets with pending (even happening now) catastrophic effect.
And then the resultant screwing up of critical ocean megacurrents (Gulf Stream et al.) that worked to keep the global temperature more or less in balance.
...Been nice knowing you all!
There are some apparently realistic -- though still undoable, thus far -- ideas for "carbon sequestration," i.e. extracting CO2 from the atmosphere and injecting it deep underground. But there is debate over whether any such approach could scrub enough of it to make a climatic difference, especially with so many other climate-collapse drivers, most especially ocean changes, already triggered and operating faster and faster.

I assure you I am not on magic mushrooms (right now ).
Having no power to influence world events ourselves at the moment (unless you have some secret info), we will just have to sit back and see.
No, very clear.
Thanks!
See, again: here, we can bitch at each other in the moment, without becoming lifelong enemies.
We are all here because, at base and in the long run, I think we enjoy one anothers' company.
