  1. Gross! What I got was scabies. That was what tipped off the then-hubbie that I was sleazing around behind his back. And that in turn was a big part of why the divorce magistrate decided to whack me good.
  2. Always! My little hooker boyfriends whom I had supported when I had the means were the very ones who, once I lost it all, came to the rescue, took me into their mostly homeless lives, protected me, and showed me how to do it. It might sound odd, but that month on the street was one of the most gratifying, fufilling experiences of my life.
  3. AHA! But I can't stand the itching.
  4. YES to the above! I lived in Hell's Kitchen for six months on literally nothing after the ex got it all, right down to the last pfennig, in the divorce. (Don't ask. ) Except just barely enough to keep the electricity turned on. Easiest place to do that in the entire U. of S., I found. There is always plenty of charity food, and beyond that, what else is really a necessity? Slept up in 3rd level of Port Authority and other places like that after finally getting evicted from the apt. in the dead of winter. That physically and population-wise dense, and liberally governed, urban environment takes care of its down and out like nowhere else I know of in this country.
  5. And then too they complain about you having gray pubic hair. People so particular!
  6. Grandma gets ready to eat.
  7. Maybe they mean thickness?
  8. Just tried it last week!
  9. I voted 6 months to one year. Comey is being so painstaking and deliberate in building his case in order to: Nail every individual involved in the treason. Nail each of them to the maximum extent possible. Make sure the Man at the Top has no way to wriggle free of responsibility. We look askance at Comey for how he bumped the election against Hillary. That view tends to make us forget that he, and all the dedicated career people in the DOJ, care deeply that the Trump team have committed very arguably the most outrageously treasonous set of acts ever perpetrated on the American people and their electoral process. And the lesson must be delivered loud and clear that this will not be excused or forgiven just because the whole thing looks like a clown circus. Those U.S. citizens' and candidate's inviting Russian meddling into our election are the most serious kind of federal crimes, and are not going to escape being dealt with as such.
  10. Agree absolutely about the quantity of (1) gorgeous and (2) commercially available Ricans in NYC. A hotbed!
  11. Press reports say she is dismayed at this public role being foisted on her by his shenanigans of running and actually stumbling into his win.
  12. One could end up buying 2 or 3 or even 4 houses from such a great salesman!
  13. More from Henry Ford... Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently. Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success. You can't build a reputation on what you are going to do. Quality means doing it right when no one is looking. Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it. Don't find fault, find a remedy. Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young. My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me.
  14. Your pipe or mine?
  15. ...there would seem to be little doubt...
  16. Ditto. In some cases it's procrastination. But more and more, it's getting ready to act. I used to sit down at my desk to write an article with no idea what I was going to say. And sit there for hours getting nada done. Nowadays, I take those walks outdoors to Think WTF the thing should say. And only sit down to write once I have figured it out. Subconsciously I think I took my cue of how to work from how the Childhood's End Overlords' spaceships worked, according to Clarke. Their Star Drive tapped the energies of whatever star it was orbiting for its main accelerative force. Thus, instead of gradually accelerating as our rockets do, it had to reach its top speed while still inside the solar system it was about to leave. So they madly accelerated from standstill to 99.8% of the speed of light in under an hour. These days, I don't sit down to work until I'm ready to do the same thing. Much more efficient.

  18. That could double as a home sex aid!
  19. I used to think this kind of stuff was the purest cornball, but now most of it makes great sense. As Mark Twain said, more or less, it's amazing how much smarter the world has gotten today than back when I was young! 1. "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain 15. "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." -Michael Jordan 16. "Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value." -Albert Einstein 17. 20. The protein one must need the sugar to be palatable. No added sugar or anything else alien in any of their juice drinks I've had. Possibly says something about anybody who would choose to get their liquid protein at the grocery store?!? Give me those Shanghai back-alley bars. P.S. THANK YOU for the rec for Trader Joe's cranberry juice! Will hie myself thence tomorrow & load up.
  21. Not only that -- sitting here in my Starbucks and reading the label, I see they're based in Rancho Cucamonga. One of my favorite place names! Right up there with Lizard Lick, NC. Or the little NC hamlet of Spivey's Corner, that mainly because it is (was) home to the annual National Hollerin' Contest. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Hollerin'_Contest Although none can quite top this sequence of real NC town names: Welcome -> Friendship -> Advance -> High Point -> Climax -> Bushy Fork!
  22. Always!
  23. BOZO beatified!
