Re: the post the other day about keeping ‘order’ in threads, I think we get a lot more insight & discovery & stuff from free association and letting maybe unrelated-at-all content pieces bump into one another. Comment on one another. Lead to the next ‘apparently’ unrelated thing. Etc etc.

Then, much later, after Northern military victory, John Wilkes Booth pulled the trigger on Lincoln before Lincoln could bring the already-negotiated peace to societal reality. I sort of think we are too hung up the 'binary' notion of how to categorize all of this. Like 55% of my hookups & longterm things have been with men, 45% with women (those were a little more short-term, like a year or two or three, so some counter-balance to the equation, but no less emotionally intense...and some endure in some form to this day). So who knows why this 'orientation' thing merits our attention? Live the life you find at every moment as you find it! And choose your partner in the moment as you find him/her/trans-him/trans-her as you find a mutually fulfilling compatibility. What is so difficult about that?

Your post also seemed to remind me of some separate long-past memory, which I only just now finally recalled. Couple decades ago I had a friend (straight, married, etc.) who could do the most hilarious imitation of the voice of oceanographer Jacques Cousteau — with reference to those invevitably gorgeous Mediterranean crewboys on his research ship the Calypso as seen in his TV specials: ’...so now we sail into port to pick up the beautiful boys...’ Same mellifluous mystical voice he used to describe porpoise sightings or whale breachings or whatever.

We may take at least a little comfort in recalling that those who initiated civil war in this country did not come to a good end. Those however who started revolutionary war came out pretty well. Vive la revolution 2020!
