"Being prepared for the future and preventing serious damage are activities that show that we care and protect people from unfortunate events. I see great value in that..." If it were only true. Did you know that many New Yorkers are still homeless after Hurricane Sandy? They weren't prepared for that and they didn't prevent serious damage...Just one example.

This is not lighthearted or sexy, just to warn you... "More soldiers took their own lives than died in combat during 2012, new Department of Defense figures show. The Army's suicide rate has climbed by 9 percent since the military branch launched its suicide-prevention campaign in 2009. Through November, 177 active-duty soldiers had committed suicide compared to 165 during all of 2011 and 156 in 2010. In all of 2012, 176 soldiers were killed in action -- all while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom, according to DOD.Army suicides have increased by at least 54 percent since 2007 when there were 115 — a number the Washington Post then called "an all-time record." *** And it seems as if the same soldiers keep having to return to battle after a rest at home. Why is that, and why is care for the injured soldier, especially the one suffering PTSD, so bad?

Rio is number one for many here. Last Sunday the LA Times wrote up Acapulco, which had recently seen an upswing in visitors after drug killings had decimated the industry. Then the rapes occurred. and the streets emptied again. I loved Acapulco, going there for 12 straight years, hiring my very first hire on the beach there. It is so beautiful, and the boys so accommodating and friendly. I am not worried about getting raped, but I do like my head attached, so doubt I will see it again.

Take a taxi? I'm taking you.

If I saw you on the street, I would think "Now there goes a nice, gregarious guy, who seems to know all of the boys. Maybe he is a straight social worker, handing out spare bills just to be nice to these smiling guys." Father Duffy rather than mother Oz. As for parisrio, well, I would say he would not exactly come across as friendly since he just called me a queen and he has no knowledge of me at all. But, we are getting to know him.

I know my escargot is always mislabeled. It says ground sirloin on the package, but the bf assures me it is escargot.

At least streets that rappers are on.

Well, many of the songs from the first album I played over and over. My post above says that there is not a single song on this album which I want to hear again. His first album was the only one I bought all year, so that tells you something about my interest in pop music. I did buy an Adele album this year that I like. I got a David Archuleta one too, but again, not a single song I liked. So I am one for three in 2013.

Google works when I want it to. I couldn't care less who this guy is, gay or straight. We each have different interests, and you are much more into the celebrity field and pop music than I am, which isn't to say there are not celebrities I would like to see. Bieber naked would be good. Can't think of anyone else at the moment...singers, that is.

But isn't the point that the customer doesn't know that he isn't getting what he is told he is? The restaurant itself might not know.
-
I really wish you wouldn't use phrases like "traveling fag." What is the point? I don't use language like that. It's a slur in my book.

Well, I am back, but the images of the guys on stage at Circle Pub are still fresh in my mind. It's the classiest erotic show I have ever seen. Imagine that. The taxi card for the Pub features a reclined boy shirtless but wearing full Indian headdress. Not sure why, but I did meet him in person as he is um, available. I felt his tight bicep to compare it to the one pictured. He seemed to be a bit older than many of the guys, and made his availability clear. But, when the show was over he had found his customer and I was yesterday's news.

I mispelled the name of the deposed leader. It is Thaksin, not Taksin. His sister now rules the country, but it is alleged that he does all the heavy lifting from exile.
-
I have not the slightest idea who he is.

Why are his nipples hard?

So after rapper Kenny Clutch was killed yesterday morning in a drive-by shooting on the Las Vegas Strip, his Maserati ran into a cab and killed the driver and passenger, certainly innocent folks who thought they were safe on the empty Vegas streets at 4:20 am. Perhaps the passenger had called the cab rather than drive drunk. So, the thanks to God are that the rapper's passenger did not die in the shooting, that the cab wasn't full, and that the killers drove away before any other rappers appeared on the scene. This is a positive spin, no?

From SFGate: Misbranding food for financial gain is illegal under state and federal law. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration publishes a guide of acceptable market names for certain fish species, but the laws can be complicated. The agency, for instance, lists 14 species that can be labeled "tuna." Oceana has thus far found seafood mislabeling everywhere it has done testing, including Boston, Los Angeles, Miami and Monterey. The group hopes to test fish platters in at least six coastal cities around the country. The DNA-testing campaign, in which dozens of volunteers are provided testing kits with instructions and monitoring sheets, created an uproar when the early results came out. In South Florida, Shester said, results showed that 31 percent of the fish tested at restaurants and markets was mislabeled. In Los Angeles, 55 percent, and in Boston, 48 percent of the fish sold was not what it was touted to be, he said. Bad surpriseA closer look at the results in Los Angeles showed that eight out of nine sushi samples labeled as "white tuna," or shiro maguro, were actually escolar, which Shester calls the "ex-lax fish" for its purgative effect on the digestive system. Escolar is not among the 14 species that can legally be labeled as tuna. Oceana found that 87 percent of the sushi venues tested misrepresented the fish being served, the worst record of any type of restaurant. Thirty-one percent of grocery stores misidentified fish, Shester said. One of advocates' biggest concerns is the unadvertised use of shark meat in fish tacos, Shester said, because, among other reasons, sharks often contain high concentrations of mercury. Well, like FourAces, I am a bit of a Kennedy buff. So, when he posts a picture, I wonder why. Why did he post it, why did he choose that one. Not why in the sense of why is he going back 50 years, or why is he wasting our time. I just finished The Third Bullet, Stephen Hunter's attempt to understand the JFK assassination through the eyes of a professional sniper, his character Bob Lee Swagger. Clearly Oswald did not have what it takes to shoot the president, and Hunter comes up with a theory that is new to me. He has a professional sniper in the Dal-Tex building adjacent to the Texas book Depository making the real hit. He quietly sneaks away while the Texas building is under investigation first. Another cute thing Hunter does is have a character posit that a time traveler came back from the future to kill Kennedy. It seems that Oswald, in fact, missed, and JFK lived to become reborn as a pacifist. That didn't work out too well, and so with only about 100000 humans left, this guy goes back in time to kill him and undo all the harm he did. It's a pretty interesting scenario.

Why are you so sure that you don't act "remotely gay?" I find the fact that you suck cock puts your hand right on the remote.

But he would have thrown a grenade for you!

Why should we fare any better than millions of men did throughout history? They took their chances, like a man!

Aw, how cute. The two little girls lost their mother, but Jesus or a similar entity intervened to save their lives. Wonder what he had against the mother?

In my mind, and I realize that I am just one vote here, a book or film or theater performance would make this forum only after someone had read it, or saw it, and was willing to review it. There are tons of books out there that interest me, but I see no need to keep a list here. WE MIGHT END UP WITH AN ENTIRE LIBRARY OF BOOKS WHICH NO ONE HAS READ.
