I forgot part of the story. Former Oakland A's pitcher Rollie Fingers
was at the stadium, selling his autograph. For $20, you got a cheap ball and his personal autograph, signed right in front of you. For $40, you got an official Major League baseball. Guess which one I picked?
So, naturally, I checked Rollie's signature on the web, and it was the exact same, even the notation that he entered the Hall Of Fame in 1992:
Not sure if Rollie felt it was a comedown selling his signature for $20 minus the cost of the ball, but I can't say that he seemed too happy. I think his career preceded the big bucks careers the kids have now. But, I am glad that I got it.
