  1. Adapted from the NY Times: FRAGRANCE counters could soon be catching another case of Bieber Fever as they begin selling a second celebrity scent from the young singer Justin Bieber. "Boyfriend," will offer gay male fans the opportunity to wear the scent of Bieber as simulated after a homosexual experience involving the anus. A campaign to promote Justin Bieber’s Boyfriend, the new men’s fragrance, will include print ads but will focus on social media like Tumblr and Twitter. His Twitter feed is followed by almost 22.9 million people. Scratch and Sniff ads will be published in prominent gay magazines. Fragrance No. 2, called Justin Bieber’s Boyfriend, is scheduled to arrive the week of June 18 at Macy’s stores, and will also be available this month at retailers like Belk, Dillard’s, Nordstrom and Sephora. Boyfriend will arrive a year after the introduction of the first scent endorsed by Mr. Bieber, Someday, which became the best-selling celebrity fragrance ever and the best-selling new women’s fragrance of any kind brought out in 2011. As befits a performer whose following is concentrated so much among young people, the campaign to promote Boyfriend, with a budget estimated at $20 million, is focusing on social media like MaleEscortreview and Twitter. Mr. Bieber’s Twitter feed is followed by almost 22.9 million people, and he has close to 44 million “likes” on Facebook. No number was given for fans on gay male sites as they tend to be quieter about their affectation. • The new media aspects of the campaign will also touch on the ads appearing in traditional media. For instance, Mr. Bieber is going on Facebook and Viddy, a mobile video sharing service, this week to invite fans to enter a “sing-off” on Tumblr to help create a 60-second television commercial for Boyfriend. The commercial will be composed of video clips of male fans performing their versions of a new Bieber song, “Boyfriend." The commercial is set to make its debut on June 21 during a special on NBC devoted to Mr. Bieber. “We saw firsthand the passion of Justin Bieber’s fans through our work on Google Chrome,” Mr. Sjoenell said. His reference was to a commercial, part of a series for the Google browser, that his agency created last year that traced the start of the singer’s career from the days when his mother uploaded his performance videos to YouTube. So far, his mother is unaware of the new fragrance.
  2. Sincere wishes that you have a fabulous time!
  3. As someone who is about to spend a weekend with a favorite niece, I can only imagine the sense of loss EXPAT must feel in such a tragic circumstance. My condolences on your loss.
  4. There are certain names that have made the forefront and have become well known. The issue is finding names of people who have caused the straight world to take notice of us. Hmmm, let's see. John Wayne Gacy William Bonin Erik Menendez are three names that fit the criterion. Not much positive impact here, but they did make the straight world take notice of gays.
  5. EXPAT, congratulations on winning the contest. I have already congratulated you for surpassing my post count! I hope that whatever medical problem you had is gone and/or that you are on the road to recovery. Congratulations also to those who won a ticket or more in the lottery to be held.
  6. My thanks also to Tampa Yankee for his services here and for his help to me when I needed it.

    Caption This!

I took this picture in 1995 at one of the Queensday celebrations in Amsterdam. It is not posed. The boys were drinking beer all day and lining up mostly at the canals to pee proudly, showing off on how far they could shoot a stream. The city wised up and put urinals in the public square. They were open to view, but the boys hid the goods better after that.
  8. But, they liked us! Participants were generally able to discriminate between the age groups, but they weren't much better at it than chance, Lundstrom said. However, they were able to do a better job of grouping together body odors from older people and identifying them as coming from the elderly. "The old-age body odor sticks out," Lundstrom said, but it didn't do so in a negative way. In fact, the subjects tended to think the old age body odors were more pleasant and less intense than those of other age groups. One factor might explain that: Older men smell more like women, possibly because they've lost testosterone, Lundstrom said.

    Jet Lag

If I knew the answer, I would not have fallen asleep at Dream Boys or wherever I was my first night there. Fifty boys naked in front of me and I cannot stay awake. Finally one of the boy mamasans came up and hugged me to try to keep me awake. It didn't work, I left, went to bed, and tried again the next night. By now you are probably over your jet lag. Just think how it will be when you are 64.
  10. Good thread, JKane. I was unaware of the depth of the problem and and appreciate having the information that you provide.

    Amendment One in NC

Well, they really rolled out the welcome mat for you!
  12. Although we are waiting verification from EXPAT, there is evidence to believe that singer Elton John is in LA's Cedar-Sinai Hospital with a serious respiratory infection. All concerts are canceled. TMZ updates: Elton checked into Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. at 6 AM Wednesday. John underwent a battery of tests, after which the doctors recommended that he NOT perform for 7 days. He was told he needed "complete rest and antibiotic treatment to prevent damage." The singer had to cancel 4 concerts scheduled this weekend in Las Vegas. John is believed to have been released from the hospital.
  13. KyTop shared some good experiences in his trips to Colombia, as does firecat69. So, I am thinking of taking a trip there this summer. As firecat points out, it is easier to get to than Rio. I like new adventures, and seeing a new country that has cute boys available too could make my summer Anyone want to go?
  14. Not only does it look like EXPAT will win the contest due to end in a couple of weeks, but he is just hair from passing me as the top ranking non-administrator poster on the site. I've got 4234 posts right now; he is just a tad behind at 4203. Wouldn't it be cool if he surged to the top just at the moment he was winning the final days of the contest? EXPAT has redefined the nature of the site and deserves credit for his hard work to win the contest. No, he doesn't have to slip a dime to me, he did it all on his own. So, I point this out in case you had not noticed. EXPAT is Number One!
  15. I thought I would get the scoop on this story here, but nothing! EXPAT, hop to! TMZ is reporting that gay icon Donna Summer has died, and we want details! Is it true, for one? Apparently, the 63 year old singer succumbed to cancer...
  16. This Memorial is to a group of people, not an individual. So it fits the facts as we know them, and does list the names of the individuals who died, and each have a tree planted in their memory. Is any memorial perfect? People that are dead probably don't care. The loved ones seem to like what has been done. So do I, and I have seen it up close.
  17. Last week I stayed at a hotel near the 9/11 Memorial. There were often long lines to get in, but at other times the lines were short. hard to figure- maybe tour groups? But, One World trade Center looks great. At night, when the construction is harder to see and the building shape clear, it is quite a beautiful structure. Although it is too bad that it took so long to get the building up, it is going to be ultimately a credit to New York, and the 9/11 Memorial a fitting tribute to those who lost their lives.
  18. The guy was known for making derogatory remarks about women, so Bono deserves him. I hope she loses so badly that the Bono name is never mentioned again.
  19. That I could go for!
  20. I have noticed this as well. So here is my random experiment, lifting an item from towleroad.com. We'll see if it comes in right: Things were never the same again after shirtless YouTuber WatchBenSing had an onstage encounter with Katy Perry. Watch, AFTER THE JUMP... Read more: http://www.towleroad.../#ixzz1tHd7o39j (Okay, it came out fine, but what is with the words "background"?')
  21. I know that I am looking forward to hearing your reports, and I don't mind hearing about your excitement in anticipation either!
  22. You were no doubt having too much fun and God had to punish you for it. Myself, I am a natural curmudgeon, meaning I don't have to wait for my back to go out. By the way, a neighbor of yours is having a birthday day. Let's all wish him a happy birthday!
  23. Well, I now have the novel and am at page 55. It is, so far, one strange book. The author wants to hold a certain level of information from the reader, but he is being just a bit too cryptic. I find it hard to follow. Then, on page 55, the font changed. Just for two pages. That usually means something, but here there is no indication as to what. I do plan to stick with it. But am I supposed to accept that a wife realyl does not kow for whom her husband works? And can she really keep a job at the CIA killing people from him? Realistically? And they have supposedly moved to Luxembourg, but for some reason seem to be living in Paris. No doubt it will all become clear.
  24. Joan Chin and Jet Li both have birthdays today. Why is it that they have not been well-wished here? For that matter, it is also I. M. Pei's birthday. No Asians get commemorated? Okay, but what about Tom Welling? Kevin James? Bobby Rydell? They are white birthday boys today. And then why leave out William Shakespeare? Not as important as Carol Burnett? Hmmm...maybe I should give each birthday person their own thread...!
