As a visitor to Curitiba a few years back, I think I went in 2006, it's purported to be the most European of Brasilian cities; it's also know for its ecological mindiness; thus it was a very, very clean city irrespective of its being in South America. Club 520 was wonderful, but since I was ill, I chose not to be with any garotos. They asked my amigo what was the problem, he didn't say much. But when the guys approached me, etc., I smiled and said "noa obrigado!" Foz do Iguacu is a "must visit" for anyone going to Brasil or to Argentina. If one has not done this, go and take in all of this magnificence. Stay in a lodging right at the falls on either side. This experience will be long remembered. If it were not for those friggingly-high hotel prices in New York City, I, too, would be visiting "mecca" far, far more often as well. In 2007 I stayed in two hotels prior to my going to and coming from Egypt. Each hotel cost me over $225+ per night, and they were far from being worth it!! It looks like sometime in 2012 I'll be making my trek (I hope treks back to "The Big Apple!) In terms of Rio, my amigo and I will be staying in an apartment in Copacabana this time after having stayed at both The Atlantico and the Royal Rio Hotel in the past. We'll escape the raised prices at this type of lodinging!

Four or five of my women relatives read the book and saw the film a few days later. Although I spent a weekend in Paraty back in 2005 or 2006, the visit was incomplete, for I was with a group of five guys from Sao Paulo and two guides, one male and one female. We took a boat trip on a Saturday, went to dinner at a nice restaurant and afterwards we went to a gay bar/club. Because the activity at this place started oh, so late, I had to turn in after midnight because of the plans that we had for the next day which was going to three beaches. I missed the history and the cultural component as well as the various architectural structures. Guys, if you've been there, what should my amigo and I do when we go there in October. The must "sees" and "do's!" The pousada has been booked, a very charming place, and we plan to take an express bus from Rio de janeiro to get there! <Any "must" restaurants?> I'll patiently await for more information from you guys!!!!! :smile:
