  1. I viewed "XFactor" for the first time last week, the finals. I thought Justin's hair was mighty beautiful. My 70th something cousin asked her 15 year old grand daughter if she liked Justin Beiber; her reply was "NO!"
  2. It's the 29th of December, and I have returned home to sunny Northern California; yet it is not as warm as I experienced in Southern during the past seven days. Yes, that is where I was. I had no lap top, and the computer in my cousin's wonderful, wonderful abode was not working! That's it. I have returned.
  3. RA1 I concur with your "take" on New York City, "The Big Apple!" It's truly a magnificent place only too, too, too damn expensive. I do hope to return sometime in 2012 since I have not been back since 2007 or 2008.
  4. Firecat, I must chime in and send my appreciation and thanks. Ever since I've been in contact with some of the guys from COLOMBIA who are on "FlirtForFree," I've been enchanted and fascinated. All of the guys there are handsome, hot, and gorgeously hung. Did I forget to write "sexy as hell, too!!?"
  5. Again, Tom, your contributions are immensely appreciated as well as highly helpful! For me this began with you and a few others in 2002 when I made my first trip to "Mother Brazil!!"
  6. It's Sunday, the 11th of December, and I am just reading this. I thank you very much, TampaYankee for what you wrote. I attached something of a similar nature to what the man wrote in reference to owner of the other site.
  7. Is this necessary? I have never met "Daddy" and have no character or personality analysis about which to comment. I have posted at daddy's site since 1998 and have gone through the various crises quietly, for I WISH NOT TO disparage anyone, poster or escort although I've written a mere two negative reviews from amongst the many I've submitted. Let us keep these forums and this website civil, please! Even if you do NOT espouse to the philosophy and to the happenings at daddy's site, why be negative here?
  8. Yes, Lapa is the place on both Friday and Saturday nights for local dining, dancing, eating, fraternizing, and from what Pauleiro alluded: boys. My friend and I went with a local and had a wonderful dinner. Afterwards we meandered the very, very, very, very crowded streets, something that I had wanted to do. If there is a next time, I want to have my meal at one of the restaurants that has tables that are outside its venue, go to some of the gay clubs and discos, and take in "everything" that exists in this older historical neighborhood near Central. Go with a carioca; it is definitely much more meaningful and safer that way! The first time I went to Lapa, I went with my guide Ernani back in 2002. I enjoyed being there, but, unfortunately, he mainly had me walking amongst the throngs of people who were thoroughly enjoying themselves throughout the immediate neighborhood. Thanks, Paulerio for what you wrote; your take during this trip truly has added some depth for me to use during future visits to my favorite city in Brasil.
  9. Ever since there has been a plethora of boys from Colombia on "flirtforfree," I've been highly interested in venturing to this country. They're handsome, hot, and hung! Plus, the personalities that some have exhibited have been to my liking! I must get there one of these days!!!!
  10. I'm with you Lurker! As long as the guy can give me a stellar and memorable time, I could not give "a rat's ass" as to how he classifies his sexuality!
  11. This brought a huge smile to my face especially when I noted the spelling of "its" without the apostrope! Sorry, guys, I couldn't help myself! The guy is cute, but I think he'd be too young for this man!
  12. I am so elated that you enjoyed Buenos Aires. My good friend and another guy who is no longer a friend and I truly, truly enjoy this place as much as we do Rio, but both cities and cultures are indeed different. I also appreciate the time that you've taken to write and relay your experiences to us who yearn to return!
  13. Pauleiro, you will return. I've been back for six times now; each time has gotten better, but I do believe that I have indeed missed out in terms of the "gay life of the portenos!" It is hoped that I can return sometime in 2012 or 2013!
  14. I liked the guy in pic #1. Damn hot indeed..............
  15. Tom, thanks for posting this, especially about your being highly pleased with http://www.rioapartmentrental.com. I know Barr and I were quite satisfied and intend to use this agency in the future. When I arrived in Rio last month, I took a taxi, which I thought was to our apartment. It turned out to be the apartment complex where the agency was located. I went to the 12th floor and was rung in. I addressed my concern and was escorted to our rental property which just happened to be a mere block away on the same street. ...can't remember the guy who assisted me, but he was patient and explained everything to me and left keys for Barr since he was to arrive later. Periodically, when we needed any sort of help and when Barr wanted to use his wi fi--he would go to the office of said agency to do so. A few days before checkout, I went to the office to relay time and date again and to confirm. While there I asked one of the men to ring the taxi facility for me to schedule a pick up since English was not spoken at this firm. I tried first. The gentleman did, and the taxi came promptly. Upon our day of departure, one of their employees came to our apartment to return the $300 deposit. When he came into the apartment, he talked a little with us. I asked if he'd wanted to check the apartment to see if it were as we had found it. He looked at us and told us that we were quite trustworthy, gave me the money, left his backpack in the apartment, and left. <I presume he did his inspection after we had left; I don't know; I know he had two sets of keys.> But, at any rate, in looking back and in our discussing our apartments in both Buenos Aires and in Rio de janeiro, I do know that Barr and I had the most wonderful experiences while residing in both places for our 25 days. We can also vouch for what Tom relayed: it definitely beats living in a hotel room or rooms for all of this time. You have the privacy; you feel as if you belong; you begin, somewhat, to live as locals do: we went grocery shopping, Barr cooked some of his breakfasts; we had company without being hassled or having to pay any type of additional money; the doormen and Barr related well since my friend can speak and understand some Portuguese, and for us, everything, or almost everything was right in our neighborhood; thus we did not have to take public tansit or buses or taxis or walk extensively to obtain what we needed. Men, as Tom highly suggested, if you plan to stay 10 or more days--an apartment rental is the way to go, and with the one that he and Barr and I recommend, the apartments which have a liberal visitors' policy are specified on the site along with photos, neighborhood location, prices, etc.... Tom, you are all right! Thanks, man! AXiom Barr and I stayed in the SERAFINA apartment in Copacabana which was near the Hotel Copacabana Palace and only a block from that long, long (major) Avenida Atlantica and the beaches proper.
  16. Enjoyed the read. Thanks! If you desire and have the time, you might wish to checkout Drey's site @ www.gaytravelargentina.com and selectively read what your heart desires. Although the postings have been slight during 2011, there is some timely information re: clubs, restaurants, escorts, etc. in Buenos Aires. Many of the previous postings are from me; I did not write about the five days I spent in Buenos Aires last month. In looking back I truly wish that my friend and I could have extended our visit.
  17.  :
  18. OK, I think we all have gotten your point. The population in this part of Brasil is of European origin from Germany, Italy, and I think Spain. I found that out through my agent whom I gave business during three of my eight trips to Rio; I also visited Curitiba in 2006 for almost a week! BTW, I don't "have a type." I like all men if they're handsome (from my point of view) and are carrying a "big stick" I go for them !!! :P But again remember "to each his own!" "
  19. Obrigado! Gracias! Merci! Thank you! I just wrote these words on a sheet of paper: Buenos Aires, Rio de janeiro, Salvador (Bahia) Brasil, and lastly Porte Alegre. These are the places that I hope to be again sometime next year if at all possible! I've been to all except for Porte Alegre. Strangely enough I had booked a hotel there during this last trip only to have forgotten that I'd done it after plans changed. I was charged for the first night only! I will not do that again. :frantics: BTW the hotel was the Mecure BH.
  20. I had always wondered about the cinemas in Buenos Aires. In 2006 I asked one of the owners of the now defunct 2Portenios which is the "best" cinema for gay men, and he failed to answer my question. I truly appreciate your relaying some vital information to us. It definitely helped. I also liked reading your scenario; pictures came to view! Tchau, continue to enjoy and share (if you desire)!!! - - -
  21. I thought I'd read since I have managed to go to Bangkok on three or four occasions, each quite different. Thanks for taking the time to write; I enjoyed the read and began to recall some of my experiences while there. In looking back I think I truly enjoyed my time in "The Land of Smiles" the last time more than the three previous times. I traveled solo for two weeks after a three week tour, and since many signs are in English, I just meandered all over the place, walking, taking tuk tuks, taxis, and that marvelous above the street train. When I got lost, I just walked up to attendants, spoke English, and was smoothly on my way after they'd carefully directed me. Again, thank you!
  22. During the past two months, the overall weather pattern in Rio de janeiro has NOT been what I have been accustomed to during the spring. My friend and I had some outdoor plans completely ruined last month because of the "funky" weather, the rain, the low temps, the overcast skies and clouds.... When I read impguy's (sp) response about the umbrella, it brought back recent experiences for me. The day that we had planned to go to Santa Teresa via the bonde (which is out of commission due to the accident back a few months ago), it rained. I lent my umbrella to the cutie who Barr introduced and wrote about in another section. By his being so macho--he did not open it when the need called. I went without an umbrella for a while until I spotted some cheapos on the street and purchased one. Barr's and my amigo still did not use the one that I had lent to him. Instead of our going to Santa Teresa, we went to Zona or Rio Sul Shopping Center and took in a movie. Our Brasilian friend stated that that was the way to spend time on a rainy day!
  23. I'm truly elated that Barr, my amigo, shared these photos. The guy in the white shirt is Esteban Leon (Sebastian), the man whom I've seen three times "socially"!! He was so fuckin' hot that night, and in looking back, I could kick myself a million times in my NOT seeking his company. Interested in reviews? I think I wrote a review about him at this site; I know one or two are at www.daddysreviews.com in the inactive. Just type his name and proceed! He is one hell of a guy who really knows how to please a man! I also found the stripper in white to be quite enticing. I'd wanted to "jump his bones" during the performance; he was that sizzzzzzzzzzling hot! Look at that "bone" to which he's been blessed. As an aside two men from Brasil sat @ a table across the way from us but in conversation distance. They'd heard that we would be going to Brasil and assumed it was our first time and proceeded to give particulars. Barr nicely set the record straight, but one thing that remains with me as said by one of these men is that "the men in Argentina have bigger dicks that the Brasilians. Neither of us refuted what he'd said and just listened, but from what we saw that night and had while we were there I've slightly come to believe that some might have....
  24. Keep sharing, man! I'm truly enjoying ALL of your posts about your travels to South America: Argentina and Brasil. Tell us about your experiences in Porto Alegre if you have NOT already done so and if you choose to! - - Thanks!
  25. I've been to The Inside Restaurant during four of my five stays in Buenos Aires. My good friend and I have always gone with Jorge, a porteno and his business partner Sebastien. Both know the owners, so each time the four of us have had a spectacular table and the strippers' attention. Last month (October 2011) the four of us went again. This time all of the strippers made it a point to come to our table and get a feel of their hard, hot bodies. Some of these guys were more interactive than others, but for the most part, they would regulate as to where they wanted to be touched. Never did they allow any of the patrons to feel their huge "package"! Too bad! The food is quite, quite reasonable in price, but far as the quality and flavor, etc., it depends on what you order. My other three friends have had great meals previously; this time I was pleased. <Food in Buenos AIRES at almost all of the restaurants I've gone to, and I have been to the better ones, was of quality and cheap via US and European standards. This time on my trip, I just spent, did not keep track, and felt all right when a few appeared on my AMEX bill last month. My friend and I did spend $175.00 for a dinner for three while we were in Paraty. I also spent $75 for three. Sorry I can't share with you all how much certain meals cost us while we were in Buenos Aires. ...wish I were there right now; the temps today went up to the lower 90s; tomorrow the temps (daytime) will be in the 80s. The latter temps are my kind of weather. -----Back to The INSIDE.... Most all of the strippers are straight. One year a wife or girl friend came and picked up her man after he'd stripped and escorted him out. We thought it odd because she seemed to be so damn possessive. But, men, if ever you're in BA, go there just for the fun! It's a bar/restaurant!! One of the owners meander from table to table, or should I say certain tables and gives one's nips the best feeling. It happened to me twice or thrice. This time it didn't happen because I wore a long sleeved silk shirt over a short sleeved one; he did not want to take the time to have me slightly disrobe!
