I am in Rio until April 17. 5 days in BH is long time. Do you plan to visit Ouro Preto, Diamantina, Mariana and Inhotim ?

Tartegogo's 2018 comments on why you should go to this and why you should not go are still valid. I would add that you can also go there on a saturday nite if you like really wild parties ... It is funny to see evolution of fees : 20R$ back in 2012 (but it was a boy at a saturday party who was willing to get some R$ to buy booze) ; 60 R$ in 2018 and 100 R$ in 2023. This last amount is for a really cute lad with a very good body and face and who bottomed. I would say that, depending on the boy, fee there could be between 60 to 100.

Getting to this sauna is for experienced travellers, not for rookies. You can have a look ar Tartegogo's comments back in 2018 and to my comments during my firdt vidit to the place back in 2012. Following recommendations of Tomcal, we decided to go to Bangu sauna on sunday which is supposed to be the best day there. Bangu is located 30 km from Rio. We struggled a little since the sauna Casa Grande is not well poditionned on google : it is actually on the opposite side of the railway. But it is well positionned on uber so if you use uber, it should be ok. (The swimming pool shown above is the one of Casa Grande) When you see the police car with the policemen with guns you are close (lol). Sauna opens at 3 pm on sunday. Boys are coming regularly until 5 or 6 pm. We arrived there around 3.30 pm. Around 5 pm, there were around 15 boys. All next door types. No over muscular hunks here. Some twinks. It is a kind of family atmosphere : we are received by the owner, there is a churrasco being prepared, drinks are cheap and good (the caipirinha there was perfect). The boys who arrive come to introduce themselves to customers. Boys wear blue towels. Customers white towel. So if you are given a blue towel, beware lol. Compared to my 2 previous trips there (on a saturday nite for a big party in ... 2012) there are a few more rooms, each one with shower. No sheet on the bed though. And you can buy condoms but not gel ... I chatted quite a lot with the boys who came sit down at our table. And with the owner who is quite friendly. Among the boys present, I spotted Patrick. Nice swimmer body, nice face, nice smile, 20 yo. Great session.

When in SP, I stay in the Heritage hotel which is very close to Lagoa (5 minutes walk). 3 star hotel with very good breakfast. Reasonnable prices. 122 rua Fernando de Albuquerque

I organized a 2 day trip in Brasilia to see the city and its monuments. Worth a visit, but only one IMHO. After seeing buildings erected, I tried to see other erctions and went to one of the 2 saunas with boys in Brasilia. Arrived there around 5.30 pm. As I was obviously new, one guy showed me ghe facility : changing room, shower, bar, smoking room, darkroom, video room. He also explained me that guys wearing a blue towel are rent boys. All others with white towel are customers. The place is rather clean. Cabins though are filthy since there is only a plastic cover. One must use his towel as a sheet. Cabins are free. I stayed until 8.30 pm but only saw 5 boys. Very average type. Most customers obviously come to meet other customers, not to meet rentboys. Some action in the darkroom. I was too tired and without sufficient motivation yo wait until live sex show which is held later on saturdays. Nothing to compare with 117 in Rio or Lagoa in SP.

It seems that Cadu was drugged and was not totally conscious when he was taken to this hotel. I cannot imagin that Cadu decided to take such a guy to an hotel. The other take away of this very sad case, is the risk of "good night Cinderella" in Brazil and the need to be very careful with your drinks in Brazil ! Xclay, I tend to do the same and during each trip, I try to discover a new place. There is so much to discover in Brazil. Spending some time in Amazonas or in Pantanal is really awesome ... but boyless (there are a couple of saunas in Manaus). Travelling in Minas Gerais outside of the very well known cities (BH, Ouro Preto, ...) is also amazing. It is a totally different Brazil : I discovered recently the "montanhas cafeeiras" (moutains where coffee grows). Amazing ! I still have quite a lot to discover ...

It is not urban legend at least for 117. Ramiro, the gerente, is doing this very seriously, making as sure as possible the ID is not fake.

Last year, I went to Buzios with a boy I knew well. I was planning to hire a car. I discussed with an American friend of mine who told me that a few years ago, he was with another friend and 2 boys going to Buzios in a rented car. They were stopped by the military police who claimed that the car was not ok, that the documents were not conform, ... and who threatened to block the car and started asking for bribes. I do not think that it is not respectful to Kadu to share what I learned since my first post. It will illustrate what TotallyOz mentionned above. Kadu was Brazilian, almost real Carioca and pretty much aware of the risks. After his service in 117 on sunday, he went to an hotel in Lapa where he met a boy - certainly not a boy from 117. He was found the next morning robbed and killed. Police is investigating. Inviting a new boy from 117 to your place or - worse - going to his place is not always safe. From a reliable source I heard the story of a gringo going to a 117 boy's place in Ipanema and being almost thrown through the window in order to get his money and credit card codes ... Finally, I was in Copacabana for year end and I was amazed to see how much police was there. All groups of boys and girls likely coming from favelas were systematically searched by police. It is the same for Carnaval : lot of police. When I was in Rio, there was a crime which was heavily commented, committed on a tour guide who was walking back to his place in Centro. He was killed by 2 girls on a motorbike. For those who are familiar with sauna 117 in Rio, they certainly know Kadu who was a very friendly bartender. He passed away a few days ago. I do not know the circumstances but I think it was linked to the fact that he was gay. RIP, Kadu. I will miss you

I went to Melody bar yesterday around 11 pm. A few customers. A few boys. Chris aka Marek was dancing. He was very sexy and teasing with his cowboy cap and I took him for a lapdance. I went to Melody club a few days ago. Do not expect something exactly like Escape, since there were only 3 or 4 boys and they were not dancing totally naked, but stripping to their underwear, sometimes showing some ass, though. Models are the ones shown in the pictures. They are obviously available. Atmosphere of the place is OK. There is a cover charge of 200 Kr plus cloakroom 50 Kr. Beers and waters are around 100 Kr, vodka, gins etc. between 130 and 200 Kr depending on the brand, cocktails between 150 and 250 Kr. Worth visiting. Hopefully, there will be a wider selection of boys in the future. In the newly posted pictures, there are already some more models, some of them are on GR.
