  1. Actually, the thought of somebody sitting around counting my posts would make me a bit less likely to post, rather than more. Doesn't get to the level of creepy, perhaps, not with the NSA's protrusive peeping. But still. Maybe better to just let folks drift in and post as the spirit moves.
  2. Well, if you click my name above and then 'Posts' you'll notice that I've shared some of my thoughts with you twice today - thrice, counting this one. You might also want to double-check your 'ignore' list just to see if you'd be willing to let some of us back inside the rope again. PS: I'll also add that I miss FourAces. It's not easy becoming attached to a favorite poster who may up and disappear for a spell. I was sure happy to see MsGuy come back after a few months away, and AdamSmith after a few days. And there's a fatted calf waiting for FourAces when he next stops in.
  3. Next they'll be after the poppy seeds.
  4. The Economist's explanation says that 'mining' bitcoins becomes progressively harder over time, and that the maximum number that can ever be created is 21 million. In a related story, the founder of an on-line drug site was nabbed today in a San Francisco branch library. Silk Road did $1.2 billion worth of anonymous drug sales and earned Ross Ulbricht $80 million in commissions, all off it in bitcoins. The story of how the FBI tracked him down is pretty interesting. Sadly, big money brings big problems and the entrepreneurial cutie tried to set up two murders of folks who threatened to blow the whistle. Ordinarily I'd consider doing him, if it weren't for the hits he tried to set up and the fact that he probably won't look so good when he gets out of prison.
  5. Saw a news clip yesterday with an Australian tourist disappointed because her family couldn't go to Yellowstone as they had hoped. She was amazed that such a fuss was being made over health care as her countrymen consider it a basic right. PS: They call their universal program 'Medicare'.
  6. Good gosh! I had overlooked the fact that Hi's catchphrases were drink-specific and have just been grabbing whatever's handy. As soon as I sober up, I'll check with my doctor and see if I can get clearance to continue playing the game. Probably good advice for us all. Can one's cheeks ever be too rosy? ( Hi, if you could hold your response till I'm back from the hepatologist, I'd be much obliged. )
  7. Glad you're back amongst us. My imagination was running wild.
  8. Perhaps you could just show up and speak out.
  9. Hopefully, he's making lots of new German friends.
  10. If you're a Mondrian fan, be sure and visit the site on an iPhone 5 with Safari and iOS7.
  11. Should we be doing this with or without a wand?
  12. Please notice the past perfect conditional tense (in all possible senses of the phrase): Were I to spot a clone of my present-day self, my impulse would be considerably less adductive.
  13. The only thing potentially creepy for me would be the reaction of the friend's sister (or brother). If it was just a fling, I wouldn't put other family members through the aggravation. But, if it's a relationship with staying power, then where's the harm? It's not like they're at risk for producing inbred children. I'll up the ante. Had I been born with an identical twin brother who was also happy and gay, I'd definitely fantasize about a relationship. Narcissistic, yes, but not creepy. Not to me anyway. Am I missing something?
  14. No firsthand experience here, as he was several forms behind me. But, when AdamSmith lays a trail, I follow.
  15. Well, let's just hope the Brewer twins never invite you to join them in a three-way.
  16. Late one evening, while out on a lark, I sashayed 'round a path through the Park. There, attached to a tush Bobbing out of a bush, Was the 7th Seigneur of Sark!
  17. Think of it! Should the two of them ever tie the knot, your friend's sister would be his new mother-in-law. And his niece.
  18. Meet Sheremetyevo, 3rd flr, tues 6am. Make sure not followed.
  19. Researchers from the UK, USA and Singapore found that, in large-scale studies involving nurses, people who ate whole fruit, especially blueberries, grapes and apples, were less likely to get type 2 diabetes, which is obesity-related, but those who drank fruit juice were at increased risk. People who swapped their fruit juice for whole fruits three times a week cut their risk by 7%.
  20. Travel Tip #57
  21. Think of it as the difference between a French kiss and a thimbleful of spit, or a blow job and draining a used condom, or rimming someone and - Hmm, I think I'll drop back and let AdamSmith carry on. Analogy's a pastime and I'll often have a go. Scatology's a calling and I'll leave it to a pro.
  22. More blueberries for me. I've always liked them, but never thought of them as a health food. Turns out the best blueberries I ever had were in Vancouver. Costco also has organic blueberries at a good price.
  23. I wonder how many here know of a crazy who has access to a gun. One of the denizens of my favorite watering hole recently lost both his parents. His brother still lives in the rural family home, surrounded by a large collection of guns. My friend says his brother is the kind of person who would use them and go out fighting. What concerns me is that my friend and his brother have very different viewpoints on the estate. I've suggested he get a lawyer and settle things quickly. I wonder if I should suggest that he report his brother. But could that escalate things and result in more harm than good? And what happens to a gun-owner who is reported for being unstable? Would there be an evaluation? And what if my friend knows his brother better than the examiner does? Would an attempt to confiscate his weapons cause the tragedy that needs to be prevented? I guess most of those who know a crazy with a gun have had these same questions. Perhaps some public service announcements with the answers would help. They would at least help focus attention on the problem. I'm not the only one who knows this story, but no one has done anything yet. Sadly, I don't think getting guns out of the hands of crazies is as simple as it sounds.
